CYA definitely molded us into the most brutal & violent. Most of my friends from there went on to catch life or die violently. I'm thankful to be free today but still think about my time becoming a man in that place.
Hey bro been checking out your Channel and dig it I was in Preston 99 and yts in 2000 definitely an experience I'll never forget end up going to the Joint all together did 18 years been out 7 years now married and doing good love to see all of us out keep up all the good videos love the Wes Watson ones respects from Ventura skins
Incredible. Definitely no place I'd like to be or have anyone I care about, lay their head. Dubs, the way you elaborate on things is very visual. Your stories are amazing man. I hope this one helps concerned families and even those that are uninformed. Even an Edgar-headed ass youngster. Glad you're feeling better homie. Time to rock & roll this work week. Let's make this cash.
Thanks for sharing this Dubs, never knew Y.A. was like this. It's really messed up what they do to the kids. They don't deserve this, regardless of what crime they committed.
Saludos Dubs....your 💯 correct CYA was straight torture....things I never thought I was capable of doing prior to arriving there...thanks for speaking on it
Don't worry about the dubs you put out great content daily we're just gonna miss when you can't do that anymore because you're gonna be working but I'm happy for you because you deserve the best another thing that I want to say is I know I'm a new subscriber but I want to say that unlike most people when you talk and you tell your stories I listen🎉👌💥😆😎
Big Dubs, I've heard the same stories from my older Homies that went through there back in the days. In the late 70's or early 80's not sure if was worse or the same as the 90's but still bad. Some crazy ass shit where only the strongest of the strong survived and yes they were never the same as before the went in. CMR 100% Gracias Hometown
I just wanted to say that since watching your videos, that you keep it real. I'm from the Bay and i spent 3 years in Paso. I know you were there before me but everything you say is spot on. There's so many misconceptions. I'm successful in life now and looking back at it, we were foolish kids. I was on cholame and did 2 programs on cambria. What's crazy about Paso, it's a little different than other facilities that I've been to. I'm half black and of course rode with my race but to be real I didn't see any racism. In fact some of my closest homies were hispanics from L.A. I was there with Chucky from T flats, Pony from El Monte. It was about handling your business. Nelles was different as well. I was in Chad my last 2 years. I know this is going to sound strange especially considering where I'm at in life professionally and how I've grown, but Paso was the coolest facility. Nipomo was the real deal too!!!😂
Ventura was crazy as fuck!!!! 😂 just kidding. Best YA to do time in. It was more conducive to getting your shit together if you were ready. YTS was sporadically crazy. I learned in YA the key to staying out of trouble was to stay busy. Be proactive to avoid having to be reactive. YA saved my life, I got my AA degree. Finished 3 years of college. I did my share of fights in the blinds. That was fun. But mostly learned how to deal with many personalities, not take shit/yourself too seriously, be firm, confident and humble all at the same time.
I remember my brother being super happy when he got sent there to finish his time. Still got stabbed there tho haha but I remember him being way more chill when we would visit. This was in the early 90s
Avenal was just as dangerous as Morro or Nipomo. We worked in the kitchen and there was lots to get into. Lots of blinds to do dirt. Getting kitchen staff caught up. Lots of places to hide things. Passing kites through the chow line.
Things must have changed… When I was in Paso Avenal was called Levanal. It was the softest compa in paso. San Simeon and Cholam were doing more… But Nipomo, Morro, then Cayucos were the top three while I was in Paso.
Yo i saw that chest pump at the beginning! Shiiiiit you be flexin bro😂 Always like hearing my notification with a New Bideo from dubs..when it works that is🤣👊
Here in Ohio it’s called DYS, same thing though. I could always tell when I was in the joint as an adult who had done time in DYS before they were old enough to go to state prison. When you go through that stuff at that age you miss developmental milestones. When regular kids are going to football games and school dances, getting their license and things like that, your fighting and beating people with anything you can grab. Applying the idea of institutionalization at a young age will damn near change your DNA. that’s why you were only out 5 months and caught a murder man. Makes me sad to think about, it’s the states way of trying to make sure you don’t have a chance
How did the California government and federal government let this happen to this kids this is disgusting, all this cops government workers need to be in prison right now , even animals have more rights then this kids wow this is way out of line .
It’s a business, money for judge’s state politicians and so forth! They had to let us keep on being to stay there longer and make more profit while the cover of it all Rehabilitate
We took my sister to go visit her boyfriend at pasorobles back and 1992 We didn't go in with her drop her off for a couple of hours We took a little drive while she was visiting her boyfriend nice little town tho!
I guess you never heard of the great escape from paso, I was there in 81-82 ,I was in Avenal, two guy's in our unit waited for the bread man to deliver the bread and as he was done these guys jump our fence and rushed truck while the gate was opening to let the driver out , socked up the driver and stoled the truck and booted the driver out afew miles down the road. They got busted in town of paso Robles by the highway Patrol, got charged with, assault battery, kid nap, escape, check into it, okay bro,I'm out .
That’s not the great escape big dog. I got the boot from Paso in May 1992. Right after I left Paso went off in the middle of the night. Vatos kicked down the riot gates in the dorms, then kicked down the yard fences. Like 6 vatos escaped. It was wild.
@@Dubsv dang , I didn't know that, I can't remember the names of these guys, but I think one of them was Bird from Santa Barbara, I'm not 100% sure , anyway, thanks for responding, good luck to your future bro ,peace out.
Why does no one talk about the real crazy shit like cxiv crips and the riots in Chad?it's was 97 and it was Poppin in Chad.coming out to the rec yard some times was so tense you could feel the tension before the call us to go back in and then bang it's on.

Truth. Thank God, this sytem is almost dismantled. We can never forget the torture that went on in these facilities. #NeverAgain
