This exhilarating live concert from 1981 is a window into Queen in their most unalloyed form, giving audiences a larger-than-life, front-row immersive experience. The film was digitally re-mastered for the first time into 4K Ultra High Definition and Dolby Atmos audio. Rock & roll royalty Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon take to the stage in a historic and exhilarating performance of their greatest hits including “We Will Rock You,” “Somebody To Love,” “Under Pressure,” Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Are The Champions,” and additional songs from popular album The Game including “Dragon Attack,” “Play the Game,” and more. Executive producers include Geoff Kempin and Alice Webb for Mercury Studios and Jim Beach and Matilda Beach for Queen Films.
“QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL” captures a pivotal moment in the band’s history. When Queen returned for the fourth time to Montreal’s 18,000-seat Forum in November 1981, where this concert was recorded, it was after a 15-month absence during which they became the biggest band in the world. Fueled by the release of The Game album, their smash single “Under Pressure,” and extensive touring, Queen now dominated the charts in every major territory across the globe. The two shows that took place in Montreal - November 24 and 25, 1981 - were arranged specifically to set Queen up for another first: shooting a full-length concert film to properly document their live show, highlighting the state-of-the art sound recording. Having spent almost two years on the road, the group was ready for such a challenge and hit Montreal in top form for what would end up being two consecutive sold out, legendary nights.
Following the record-breaking IMAX Event Cinema worldwide release, Queen Rock Montreal is being released in 4K High-Definition packages, plus CD and triple vinyl on May 10th 2024!

Tell me about it! As someone who was born in 2004, it would have been amazing to see Queen when Freddie Mercury was still alive & John was still with the band. However I did get to see Brian & Rodger when Queen + Adam Lambert were in St. Paul, MN in October 2023!
@@NateOnThe-Radio I was alive when they were touring, but I had only been 4 the last time they were in the US. I’ve seen Queen + PR once and Q + AL 4 times. I should have seen them 5 times, but I was in the hospital for October 2023

OF COURSE! Brian played everything that was needed for a song, if no one else could; he just learned how to do it! I think he plays like 1300 instruments 😸😸😸!!!!!!!... But... We ALL KNOW WHICH ONE HE DOES BEST, AND BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE 😺😺😺😸!!!!!!!!!!!
All four of them were multi instrumentalists. John Deacon often recorded all the parts of his songs, Roger did for a couple of songs, Brian I know did, and Freddie played the guitar on CLTCL. They were all equally talented yet so different. That’s what made Queen great.
The critics hated Queen and ABBA .... 50 years later and here we are.

pretty much - this was one of the rare things that was broadcast on TV that year and i got to watch it at a friend's house - short of that you never saw your hero unless you could buy a ticket and travel and not many of us could

I am Japanese. I got into Queen because of Bohemian Rhapsody. This year, on February 7, 2024, I went to the QUEEN concert held at Kyocera Dome! This remastered version was being shown at a movie theater, and I wanted to go if I had the time. I also love this Save me!
I played the trumpet in the drum and flute corps from the fourth grade until I graduated from elementary school, and at that time I once played Queen's Born to Love You.

It's kind of sweet how Freddie makes the audience wait for a moment and then slowly walks over to Brian with a grin on his face to give him the perfect cue.

I love where Freddie casually gets rid of his handheld mic before sitting at the piano at just the right moment to play that, so that Brian could be standing up ready to play guitar. I, too, didn't know Brian played piano. That must have been useful when recording songs where Freddie wanted to concentrate just on belting out his singing while still being accompanied by live piano. :-) 02:40

What an amazing performance. Queen are so ”musical”. The music skills really shine through in this track. Brian wrote one of Queens best ballads, and Freddie made it his own, what a voice. The change between Brian playing the piano and then the guitar is wonderful and Freddie taking over during the solo shows how connected they are as a band. John and Roger doing an amazing job as well. ❤

Always one of my favorite tracks off my first Queen album that got me hooked on Queen. Memories of playing my drums to this whole album all the time.
Gifted The Game album to a friend after it had just come out. For such a young age (12?) we enjoyed the hell out of some pretty dark, but incredible music back then. This is such an amazing remaster........goosebumps. I mowed lawns at the time so I could build up a true quality HiFi component system (Harmon Kardon, Signet, Nakamichi, KEF). Since then, I've been telling people that The Game album may be the highest quality of sound (audiophile stuff) mass produced vinyl I've owned. I feel the same level of care in this exquisite remaster, and I hope all Queen fans appreciate that as much as I do :)
