When Eric throws away the little tag at 3:50 and ad libs "Berman" is comedy gold. Berman's was a famous costume rental company. Ernie cracks up at that moment. Brilliant.
Unbeatable! All the big stars wanted to be on their show. Great to see John Mills, specially when he’s trying not to laugh! The breakfast sketch to The Stripper is another of my favourite sketches. The timing is spot on! They’re not lost though, thanks to people putting out the videos.
THANK YOU for allowing me to remember my beautiful childhood back in dear old England. Very very happy days those were ....sadly I was too young to appreciate them.
I've had the great pleasure of meeting and serving the late great Sir John Mills and his wife in a a Hotel . It was called the Lythe Hill Hotel Haslemere .
I have to say... that when a sketch laughing at a thousand bogus war movies was acted by the ‘Beyond the Fringe’ cast back in the Sixties, WWII veterans threatened to beat them up, for not showing respect. PC wasn’t invented recently. Thanks to the satire boom, M & W - plus John ‘In Which We Serve’ Mills - can get away with this nonsense in the Seventies. This is what comedy is for. Laughing at our bogies so they cease to haunt us.
Forgot about this classic show, old aussie living in the US many years, thanks Canned Carrott. Comedy at its best, like all of the old shows, not the garbage that is shown today.just sayin'
Oh where are those great days of comedy...M&W and the Golden Girls.....such scripts alas can no longer appear.....thanks to 'Political correctness...' and similar shit......
Looks something like Croix de Guerre (byt with a purple ribbon), General Service Medal and two army long service medals. Nothing like the medals they were supposed to be! Hey, what the hell though, it's a comedy sketch :-)

Didn’t know that! Thanks. Makes it even funnier. John Mills trying not to laugh……😂
Never fails to make me laugh, no matter how many times I watch this. I miss those days, you know.

This is one of the best sketch from Morecambe and Wise! I laughed so much that it left me in tears!

Eric was a comic genius.
John Mills is on the point of hilarity ... absolutely wonderful, thank you
I really think he enjoyed himself...it shows on his face, lord bless him.......
Proper comedy! Good clean fun.
Not so clean. There's a guy in a skirt.
It’s a kilt ….
Beats the dross which passes of comedy these days.
Abso. superb .Credits at the start ,so funny -THOSE WERE THE DAYS 👍, sadly gone now 😔. Great to se again 👍🙂
4:53 - Sir John Mills: "Now Darson ... Darcy" - Eric: "You were close" - Eric could never allow a slip up from Ernie or any guest star go unnoticed.
Absolutely brilliant.
When the world was normal.
1971
When woke didn’t exist either , and when England was still England , apart from south hall
It was so hilarious even the actors could not stop laughing.
A good comedy is one where even the actors can't hold themselves together.
Where has all this comedy gone? No more saturday nights round the box.
TheMrgaztop totally agree with you all we've got now is things like Miranda which is not funny at all
Faith Evans Example?
Fabulous !
Even the cast couldn't keep a straight face!
Brilliant fun
Dear Eric why aren't you around now looking after us? ARSENAL!
Sadly Eric Morecambe met his maker in 1984
Rest in peace mr Barry cryer. Writers Eric and Ernie. Have now left us stars
John Mills wearing his "Tunes of Glory" costume.
If the kilt fits.. wear it ..👍

Love the pantomime 'runaround' routine at 3:25!
Fabulous humour!!
Brilliant, Good Old British Humour❗️

Don't just Stand there, peel me a 'John Mills"!
I agree. What happened to a good, clean laugh?
Raised it on the way out🤦🏼♂️🤣🤣
Even broke the Nazi 😅
Lol "Boss of Germany"
ruclips.net/video/nHk7uyJtbTQ/видео.html
Mill's "Now dozen."
Eric "you were close."
The magic and fun of Eric and Ernie, right there.
Geniuses
Wow, good clean fun . Talking about Eric dressing up as a Minstral, and singing Mammie. How did this get past the YT Censor.
Awsome
Thanks rer
i like the army captain with a DFC and bar :)
after liberating france, all my granddad came back with was the VD and scar.
@@GavTatu 🤣🤣🤣. And let’s face it. Everyone had VD so it wasn’t even a unique souvenir!
What year was this show?
10th October 1971 as part of their sixth series for the BBC.
@@johnking5174 Thanks.
Did they borrow their costumes from Dad's Army?
😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

3:37 = pure hilarity
CatbushAndLudicrous what is... your plan of escape?
funny but it's not a DFC & bar as that is a cross not a round medal! lol being pedantic

@@robbrown7592 It definitely wasn't a DSO and Bar, Dick Shot Off.
It's also the wrong ribbon.
Funny as ....no need to hang shit on people like so called comedians do nowadays
Oh my God it's painful !

This show keeps popping up in my feed, and I keep clicking on it.
I don't know why though, I don't find M&W at all funny.
So unfunny.

Mark , i worry for you
Bet you are fun at parties.
And there lies the problem. Enjoy rest of your life mark. We sure did.
