I think you misread the Maya, she says choose a standard power, it need not be an attack power. This should include outwit, perplex, precision strike, leadership, willpower, close comber expert etc.

You're right! I did misread that. Or maybe I had the common version in my head for some reason cause she turns off attack powers. But yeah, the rare one can just pick any power. That does make her a lot better than I originally thought, thanks!
