I was born three days before Hurricane Bob arrived in Southern New England!
I was 10 years old at the time. I grew up in fall river and I remember not having power for what seemed like a week but it was probably much shorter. I wrote on a cardboard box of books my mom was putting in the basement "Aug 19 1991, hurricane Bob arrived"
26 years later after my mom passed away my dad sold the house and while moving everything out I found the box with the inscription I had made all those years ago.
I was 12. I lived inland. We kept getting tornado warnings. We lost power for almost 2 days.
I was 13 hunkered down in Cranston with my family at my Grandmother's house. She lived through the Great New England Hurricane of 1938 so she was scared as hell. I was just bored but thinking how many trees would come down and change the landscape. I couldn't wait to go outside when it was over and see the debris.
Patrice was so hot!
