I had such a hard time with Dune for the first quatre? But once I pushed through and came back to the book with a fresh mind and renewed spirit to finish it, I had such a blast. Since then I've already finished book 2 and 3 as well. (If i had to rank them I'd be Dune > Children of Dune > Dune Messiah). Also a an Austen fan this comparison didn't even make sense! They are two completely different kinds of writers building two vastly different worlds, and Herbert does a great job with exploring the Fremens especially. I'd start with book 4 soon.
yes me too!! it was a hard hurdle to get over but once you’re past that point it’s such a fun time! i’m really excited to read the rest of the series :) I agree, the Austen comparison threw me off a bit too, as while they’re both classics they’re completely different genres! I hope you enjoy the 4th book 😁
Dune is awesome, some people try to have an amazing book under 300 pages. Sci-fi always will test you, as far as world building, it’s a necessity because it’s fiction. Reading 2061 : Odyssey 3. I totally digged Fahrenheit great book!
yes! I think it’s rare when a short sci-fi book gets all the information out considering it’s creating a whole new world! I have 2001 on my tbr and i’m excited to get to it! glad to have a fellow fahrenheit enjoyer around!😁
I read Dune last month and I don’t like Classics, that being said I REALLY liked Dune. It had so many amazing concepts and I listened to it on audiobook with different narrators, so hearing some of these reviews felt a bit personal 😂 😒
that’s what I loved about Dune too, while it is a classic it’s still an amazing sci-fi adventure, and I feel like the word “classic” can make us think something might be boring or outdated but I think it all depends on the genre you enjoy reading! I never listened to the audiobook but i’m sure it’s amazing!! LOL yeah these reviews made me feel a bit sad but as long as we enjoyed the book that’s what’s important :D
@@haleykalonaYes! Definitely makes me looks at classics a bit differently. And totally, people can have their own opinions but at the end of the day we liked it so that’s what matters
you’re so respectful and smart.
