With these analysis(plural), I see Hamlet on a whole new level.

English Nerd you should talk about Song of Roland! To me it was kind of a hard book to understand sometimes but, it is not as straight forward as Hamlet is but it still is kinda meh.

Parts of Song of Roland are awesome - Oliver, anybody? - but in general it's not one of my favorites. I'll definitely take your suggestion into consideration, though!

Laertes believes that Hamlet is not master of his will as he is subject to his birth, which probably can be interpreted as royalty wasn't supposed to marry outside their family...if so, why does the queen later in play regrets that Ophelia's death prevented her from becoming Hamlet wife? If i have not messed up my question 🙄😁

Strangely, I was just thinking about that the other day! It hadn’t struck me before. Maybe Gertrude personally would have been happy about it, but the marriage still wouldn’t have gone through. We know that Gertrude doesn’t often think about what’s best for the kingdom…

I’ve only just read scene three for the first time but I thought polonius’s speech at line 55 was EPIC. I loved the analogy of polonius and Shakespeare chasing word plays like kittens being distracted by butterflies and chasing them. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Polinius.
