Without the dataset, it is impossible to say for sure. Possible explanations would be (a) opening the data with the wrong settings, i.e. open an Excel dataset with Stats settings, (b) data corruption, (c) operating system incompatibility. Your best bet is to convert the data to a CSV and try to open that. Good luck
