Ase! David. I really appreciate your perspectives on the Yoruba Spiritual tradition. I am early on my journey in this amazing tradition. I am very blessed that I have found people with integrity Who have been assisting me. One thing I have learned about IFA like you mentioned, is that people go to Africa to get Initiation but return without no one teaching them how to use the tools necessary to fulfill their Destiny. Awesome! Video. I appreciate your insight continue to share information like this because there are many like myself who are seeking and quite frankly being LED by our ancestors. Thanks again David.

It is interesting that people have issues with paying money for the services a Babalaow or Iya charge. Meanwhile We here in America have no problem paying a Priest for their service because of their credibility. What do I mean by credibility, it takes training (getting a education to be a Priest or Priestess). People! a IFA Priest or Priestess train for along period of time like you suggested in your video David. The training is really a life time of learning it truly never ends. Most importantly and the Most effective and Sincere IFA Priest or Priestess are destined by IFA to be a Babalaow or Iya. And by the way some Babalaow's or Iya's consult IFA to charge a person.

I remember when you said in an older video that when a person looks back the changes will be obvious and speaking for myself that is a very true statement. Thank you for you videos! Good vibrations to you and yours Asè Asè!

@upick it - Maybe a short testimonial on Ifa and how it has changed your life for the followers? No details please, don't want to get too nosy - but a brief explanation of where you WERE vs where you ARE, and how Ifa helped??? Its not magic, but the results are MAGICAL.....however, not instantaneous. Takes work.

David Graham for sure! I would be happy to. I will be in FL this weekend for a week. I will be staying with my great friend who is also an Ifa priest and is associated with the Ifa foundation and the Orisha gardens you may even know him not sure. But yes I would definitely give a testimony.

Thank you. Please make more videos. I’m new to Ifa and have sssooooo many questions. I paid a lady a pretty penny for Esu, Ogun, and the ancestors. She is now telling me I am not ready to receive my Ancestors urn and that I have to wait a year before she gives it to me. She charged me 350$ Just for the ancestors. Because I wasn’t okay with waiting as entire usar after I paid her over 2,000$ for three things she offered to refund me the 350$. That was almost 5 months ago and nothing 😔. Don’t know who to trust

You are always READY to have your Ancestors, LOL. They are always with you. When choosing a spiritual mentor/teacher, it is imperative that you get to know them-look at their life, their relationships, their background, their motivations, and their CHARACTER. As the commenter below says, ifafoundation.org - tons of FREE info and knowledge. Please help yourself.

Luz Arias thank you. I️ meant Egun, which she said would be my Ancestors. She charged me for everything. I️ knew nothing of Ifa when I️ met her. I️ was desperate for answers after losing my baby at 7 months pregnant. I️ went to her in a desperate state therefore I️ did not think to analyze her. She works out of a Botánica that she owns with her partner so I️ thought she was legit. I️ am happy I️ found the Ifa tradition and also grateful for all the great information you guys share with me. I️ would like to find someone initiated into Ifa, besides her, where I️ live. it’s mostly Santeros and others who practice similar traditions but not Ifa. Everything I️ go into a spiritual store around here no one has heard of Ifa. I️ have purchased some books and they have helped but I️ still have so many questions. I️ will continue to do my research and practice the best I️ can with a good heart. If you guys know of an official Ifa practitioner in The star of N.J. Please inform....thank you all. Ase

Luz Arias where do you live? Maybe an initiate that I️ know is close to you?
Keep learning, studying, growing...it gets easier. PS-you do NOT have to be in front of a priest to receive good readings. This can be done via phone or Skype and is available by the Foundation. Good guidance is out there!

Alafia. Keep in mind that Ifa is nothing, if not logical. If somethings seems "out of whack" or over the top, don't do it. There are plenty of good, honest, competent Ifa Priests out there - that offer services and training at very reasonable rates. And remember, there is no one set way to do things, only what is most effective for the client and priest. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either stroking their ego or selling something. Blessings.

    • @theifavlog1427

Gertrude Daube very simple, tell him/her you no longer wish to proceed and find a reputable Ifa priest to do or finish the work. Painful answer I know, but honest

Tell you’re no longer interested in his service . It’s unfortunate there are too many people who tops people off for for reason . IFA is a honest practise , it never lies !

Mr.Graham, Im very sorry to disapoint you but most of what you a saying is wrong , their are no women in IFA to start within the friest place next is that what ever a babalawo charges is up to him according to his needs, its not for you to say anything bad about anyone in ifa if you dont agree with the work done with any Babalawo you have all the right to find anyone else of your chose and not speak so much garbage over youtube its not your business sir.Ihave been a Babalawo for over 32 years in IFA and I dont speak so much garbage like you do sir its not right again you have no right to say so all I hear is say so and no proof.
Mrr.Graham you should mind your own business, OLUWO IFASEGU AWODELE Ooni-Ooni in IFA.
