  • Transitions are often described as the fourth discipline of a triathlon, but if you ask us more often than not, training for them gets neglected by triathletes in favour of swim, bike and run workouts. Fraser is here to talk to you about bike to run, and giving you my top tips for getting yourself through T2 faster.

You know what, I didn't think that after 17 tri races and reading tonnes of material I'd learn something new in this video. But I needed to improve my T2 time. And guess what. I'd never heard of the shoe vaseline thing, and attaching the number belt a bit lower on the number is an absolutely brilliant idea! The flapping is a watt thief I never really managed to put behind bars.

0:26 Don't just stand there putting your number belt on! Grab the belt and start running. Clip it up while running

T2 was always my "specialty" in my Tri days... In and out, in under 30 seconds (Sprint distance), or 45 seconds (Olympic). It's all about the preparation and positioning your gear.

Put your number belt on like you are putting shorts on. If you choose to wear your number belt on the run only, Leave the belt on top of your shoes, number facing you. So...rack bike, slip up number belt, slide into your shoes. Boom you PRed!

Robin Estes you are right. Who wants to mess with clipping the number belt during the race. I had trouble with it at my house. LOL. Thanks for the tip.

    To easier wear socks
    1. Put it on
    2. Roll it like a doughnut from top
3 put it on yr shoes

Scrumppling and scrunching of numbers... Sounds like being a world class mathematician more than Ironman triathlete!!!🤣 All excellent advice l plan on implementing at my next event! Thanks for sharing your secrets to success.

When it comes to socks, should i have short socks or long ones? And should they be thin or thick?
