Nepal Upper Mustang - by gravel bike | Part 1 | Kagbeni - Lo Manthang

This part shows our way from Kagbeni to Lo Manthang. It was a dream for us to cycle through the forbidden Kingdom of Upper Mustang.
We mainly followed the jeep road, which was taking us through the small villages & beautiful mountain scenery. Like anywhere at high altitude, weather was ever changing and brought some challenges!
We spent a couple of days in Lo Manthang, visiting the caves, monasteries and we cycled to the border to China (Tibet). Soon people will be able to actually cross this border, they are building a asphalt road through Upper Mustang. So if you want to explore this area in its original state, you have to be soon!!

I was there last year. Did it by walking. The most magical place i ever visited. 20 years before the Annapurna circuit. Dreaming of going back to upper Mustang and finely did it. Same guide as 20 years before. A dream come true. Great video!

Hi there. we are glad you like our videos. They are the honest result of incredible trips.
Guides for Upper Mustang you can find in the Thamel area in kathmandu. We met our guide in a bike shop. -> Himalayan Single Track Pvt. Ltd. oposite the shop there is a cafe where guides and cyclist used to meet up.
