Best video I've seen in a long time. Yes, the Turbo is beautiful, but watching a REAL Dad, one that makes time for and includes his child in what he's doing is priceless!!💯
What a beautiful model, back when I was into model trains in the 1990s-early 2000s, the amount of really detailed, era-specific Amtrak models was very slim. Alot of the stuff available was usually generic "Heritage" lightweight Budd coaches and some various Amfleet coaches, the Walthers ones were pretty good. The Athearn GE Genesis locomotives were some of my favorites too, I have a few of them on display. Today the selection of Amtrak models, such as this beautiful Rohr Turboliner, is absolutely incredible. You can get pretty much any specific Amtrak locomotive and rolling stock from every era imaginable, I would have killed for this stuff as a kid! This video made my day, I love seeing the enthusiasm you and your son share for this new model...it brings me back! There is something about checking out a new model and all its little details that is so exciting! Ah man, maybe its time to dust off the old Athearn P40DC and haul some Walthers Amfleet coaches for old times sake!
It is beautiful to watch your son's enthusiasm for trains. It would seem that apple didn't fall far from the tree. :) I pre-ordered the N-scale version of the Phase V Turboliner when they were announced last year.
Fantastic video great review there's no way to say or count how many times i watched it iam am obssesed with that train since my first encounter with it by the hudson line in1986 it was love at first site i got my ph3 early set also but with power coaches#s 154&155 which were the ones matt donelly rode when he was 3yrs old std-alb but coach i watched that one too to numerous to count hope you and yours enjoy this set for years to come
I'm not thrilled with mine. I bought 2 add-on cars, and I hope to get it running, but seeing it on a layout that actually does it justice is amazing. Excellent job!

Between the cars is a drawbar that looks like a coupler to prevent slack action. The ends of the power cars can be whatever piece you choose to install.
It's a pricy set, but one I'm seriously considering. I'm still hoping someone does a video featuring the phase V version. But at least from this, I can see it runs well, sounds good, and is well packaged.
I really want this beautiful turbo liner except they did announce the phase 5 version and I might get that one but the price is insanely expensive though
