    But that's not the only thing you feel.
    Take a few steps into the station and you're bound to come across homeless people. MANY homeless people.
    It's striking. The grim, raw, unfiltered reality of the homeless situation that plagues Newark, as 25.8% of the population living below the poverty line (according to website: datausa.io). But it's not just limited to the streets. It's on full display throughout the train station.

    ABOUT NEWARK PENN STATION
    Designed by the renowned architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, the same team behind the Pennsylvania Railroad's original New York Penn Station twelve miles to the east, the station has Art Deco and Neo-Classical features. The main waiting room has medallions showing the history of transportation, from wagons to steamships to cars and airplanes, the eventual doom of the railroad age.
    Newark Penn Station is served by multiple rail and bus carriers, making it the seventh busiest rail station in the United States.
