Hearing Riku's thoughts when talking to Sora after their time apart was really refreshing. He was really down and out in the first half of the story, with Sora being the encouraging one, then when they arrived at the beach and Sora started to fizzle out, Riku tried to be more positive for his sake. "That made me a little sad, so I responded with as cheerful a voice as I could manage." It really hits you when you look at the scene in kh3 when Sora was the one to give up.

Riku such a good character ever since kh2 and Com he’s become one of my favorite characters. I hope he and Namine have a happy ending or a least be a great friend to Sora. Can’t wait to play more as Riku or any other character
it makes me sad that namine is still waiting for repliku ;n;, at least she and riku are good friends. the kh2 novels flesh out their friendship a little more, even including axel there too. its nice to know that she has friends to talk to, even xion was helping her collect shells at the end of kh3
i really enjoy how they describe the complexity of rikus feelings-how he felt like he had to be mature, older brother type for sora but realizing that doesnt fit him at all anymore, that their relationship has changed and how riku sees sora has changed as well. This is exactly what i wanted from the character files-seeing the inner thoughts of a character and understanding them in a new light.

It's why I'm glad he had Mickey, someone to be the "big brother" he always tried being all the time but is still super extroverted like Sora. Mickey is patient with Riku and stubborn to him when he needs to be. All in all Riku is the best developed character imho.

@Kawaii_Christichan yeah i pretty much only saw there bond as brothers or good friends and this pretty much confirms it im hoping there's a kairi story there has to be despite what the fandom thinks of her i think shes a good character and i have a good feeling that a game around her is coming

@Ludwig Pascua well i honestly can't speak for that side of the fandom since i don't ship it but fans have shipped them since kh1 and really starting rooting for them in dream drop even i started questioning nomura's direction in the romance aspect when i played ddd but that only happend during the sound idea cutscenesin fantasia then when i got to the sokai montage at the credits i was like nomura you sly fox cuz i had a hunch he did that on purpose and after playing through kh3 its clear that he did
@Kawaii_Christichan yeah and rewatching the kairi fragement hunt it got me thinking about what mickey said follow the heart and you'll find the way kairi's heart was guiding him to her all along and after he restored her both of them saved everyone again thats when i closed my eyes and thought of what luxu said and screamed in my head saying THATS WHAT HE MEANT THAT WAS THE REWARD

That scene with Riku and Sora for a momment reminded me of the scene between Zack and Cloud When Zack went full on in to fight of the Shinra Soldiers but then died soon afterwards. TT v TT

In three Sora chooses to go alone at the end because he knows he can’t come back from this and Riku knows this as well he’s accepted that we each have our own paths to follow.

Poor Riku, despite being one of the Most Powerful characters in the series he constantly receives lethal injuries. Like the Time Roxas broke his arm, or Xemnas fractured his back, all was for Sora's sake.

I always thought riku’s jealousy of sora started with kairi choosing sora over riku. I also think kairi noticed the darkness in riku before anything in the KH1 scene her & sora were sitting & talking on destiny’s island during the sunset.
yeah but she reunited them in kh2 which has a bigger meaning now thanks to her reuniting them riku became himself again and a keyblade master in ddd a small part of something much bigger
Nah it always stemmed from Riku’s fear of being abandoned by Sora, not Kairi. That’s why Maleficent is able to manipulate Riku, when Riku sees Sora laughing with Donald and Goofy. It’s much more complex than a love triangle.
*One question. Who is writing the character files? While these characters are in the moment having a conversation with another character. For Example, Riku is writing at that moment when Sora & Riku are a in a Realm of Darkness looking at the ocean. Is Riku writing what's happening while talking to Sora? Understand what I mean?*

Riku's changed in a good way, he fell to darkness, and tried redeeming himself, even though he saw his actions as almost unforgivable
