    I had heard Nihilist/Entombed demos before the LHP came out. By their demos they already stood out from the mass. And this lp blew everyone out when it got out in spring 1990. And in my opinion it still is the best dm album ever.

    By far the best “I did a thing in the current day,” videos I’ve seen in a minute! Keep well and rock on, dude! Your pal from the start...

      @@theheaviestshow Likewise, man! I hope your Christmas was fantastic! Mine was decent but I lost my mom in August of 2022 so it was pretty somber but there were some moments of genuine Christmas cheer... a mixed bag. COPD is a bad way to go, man. Don’t smoke!

      @@beardlessodin945 Dude, I am so sorry. I'm sending warm wishes to your family. I'm very happy to hear that you and your family were able to pull together and celebrate happily this Christmas. I'm sure that would've made her happy.

      @@theheaviestshow You’re too kind, dude! Don’t be sorry, as she was suffering really and it’s better this way. Thank you so much though, man, it means a lot. I agree, I don’t think any of our dearly departed want us crying and bellyaching for too long. And you’re right, it’s what she would have wanted!
      Anyways, much love from NS bro! Your channel seems to be going very well! Every video is such a treat. You’re getting better all the time! A million thanks and best of luck in the New Year! Let’s pump up that sub count this year! Here’s hoping you go stratospheric!

      P.S. What are your thoughts on Jordan Peterson getting his psychology license threatened over making fun of Trudeau!? Ridiculous, no? They (the Ontario board of psychology or something) wanted him to complete some work course on how to be a good boy on social media. He balked at the idea. You know JP ain’t gonna bend on free speech. So now they’re threatening his license, but it’s an empty threat because if they take it away, it doesn’t matter because he has surpassed his profession and it’s not his livelihood anymore. He’s achieved escape velocity and I couldn’t be happier for him! Anyways, lemme know what you think as a fellow JP fan!

      @@beardlessodin945 I think what the board of directors for Ontario Psyche is doing is disgusting. It doesn't matter much monetarily to Jordan, but what that means for him emotionally, as well as what it means on a broader scale of his previous profession and free speech in Canada (which is clearly non-existent) is disturbing. We will see what happens in the future, but it doesn't look good for Canada, my friend.

    I think you misunderstood the death'n'roll thing. Nobody's calling LHP that, listen to Entombeds later albums like "Wolverine Blues" and "DCLXVI" (To Ride). They have a very different sounds and definitely has a reason to be its own genre :)

    • @jorrickthole6505
      @jorrickthole6505 6 месяцев назад +1

      I was gonna say exactly that. In those days metal was waaayy more puritanical about the sound so the choice to add punkish bouncy rock was a major thing. Lot of people considered it too happy and stepped away from Entombed and such style crossbreed bands (Carcass Swansong ?). So yeah, if you were neckdeep in DM at the time that stuff was huge.

    Worth noting that the Swedish scene was bridged by Per Ohlin “Dead”. He knew nearly everyone in the Stockholm scene and brought his influence to Mayhem which in turn influenced the Norwegian Black Metal scene. LG Petrov played drums at one time for Morbid.

    Death and roll was applied to later albums, not this one or the next, starting with Wolverine Blues.
