@@TadashiTravelTours yes, it really did. We frequent Waikiki on month long trips and were curious about this hotel. You’re video is the best review on you tube of the Laylow. Really concise, clear and informative. I can’t get the rate as low as I’d prefer, as of now lol, but if I can locate a price drop before we leave this summer, I’ll book this hotel for sure. Thanks again! 🤗

Thank you for the very positive feedback - that is the goal, concise and informative! I understand. The room rate is a huge factor in the value proposition and getting a fair price is key.
I have the following suggestions for booking at The Laylow: You can make a flexible booking now which allows you to cancel the booking until 1 or 2 nights before the reservation starts. If you find a lower rate at a later time, you can cancel the original reservation and rebook at a lower flexible rate, or book at the prepaid rate if you are confident in the price and dates.
On the points side of things, Chase recently increased their sign up bonus on their Chase Marriott Boundless card to five free night certificates with each certificate redeemable for up to 50,000 Marriott point properties, and the option to pay up to 15,000 Marriott points per certificate to get the award night. You could be able to redeem certificates and points to get an award night at a property as expensive as 65,000 Marriott points per night. The Laylow's award prices seem to fluctuate between 52,000 and 70,000 Marriott points per night, with summer charging those peak 70,000 Marriott points per night.

@@TadashiTravelTours oh thank you very much for taking the time to inform us on these great ideas to save some money! 💰 ☺️ we work for the state gov so we get state rates for Marriott but they never seem to be available in Oahu lol 😂 we get pretty good booking genius rates, but I ageee w what you suggested about booking w free cancelation. That way I can have some time to find a better rate. Thank you, subscribed! 🤗👍🤙

You are very welcome. Glad to share hotel tips. That is interesting that you get the government rates but Oahu properties aren't available. I hope you can find a fair price so you can experience The Laylow. Thank you for the sub and the wholesome dialogue.

Thank you for this video! Would you recommend staying at this hotel? Or do you think there is a better price for value hotel in Waikiki?

Hi Raulgtz2139. If you can book Laylow at a reasonable price, then yes I recommend staying there. But if you can find Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach for roughly the same price, then I would recommend staying there since the property is on the beach and you would have the opportunity of an ocean view whereas Laylow’s view of the ocean is unfortunately blocked.
The Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, across the street from Laylow, typically goes for a cheaper rate than Laylow.

    Fancy hotel!
I've come to really appreciate hotels with microwaves. It would have been nice to see the inside of the mini fridge to see how big it really is.

Yeah, functionality (presence of charging ports, mini fridge, microwave, etc.) is a much appreciated.
The mini fridge was likely ~2 cubic feet - it was able to hold 5-6 of the bottles and cans we purchased. It wasn’t ridiculously spacious but it wasn’t tiny.
