Small nuance that often gets missed, there is a line in there at 3:44 : "Die Lippen oft verkauft und weich" which translates to "The lips, sold often and soft", hinting that she sold her body and that it wasn't just his first love but also with a girl forced to sell herself to others (and probably him) before. (pretty sure I read somewhere that inspiration for the song was a story from a young german soldier in Paris, no guarantees though)
Great reaction, congrats on picking out Piaf's line, pretty sure not many outside of France know it these days :) The live video from Rammstein playing this in Paris is absolutely amazing btw, the whole stadium singing it.

@@staceysmith8173 oh, I know. 🙂Watched them all. I mentioned those two shows, because Till is going all out with his vocals. There you get an idea, how talented he is. Absolutely amazing. Nowadays I find it hard to find such deep baritone voice with such a warmth in it.

For those wondering the typically accepted meaning is a young man who traveled to Paris and lost his virginity there to a prostitute. To her it was a transaction but to him it was fleeting temporary love. She yelled words at my face, lips so soft and often sold. But I’m the end he didn’t regret it. It’s a sad love song.
