I have enjoyed your readings very much. Clear enunciation, natural, no exagerations, not dull at all… everything conveyed correctly… can’t ask for more. Thank you!
Exorcising her demons.
Great stories. Short and impactful.
Sometimes a pen is the only weapon we can use.
Thanks for posting this.
The demon marraige and family. The demon failure to communicate. The demons threat and confinement. The demon mother! The demon mediocrity. Maddening domesticity.
I love Shirley Jackson. Thank you Windy, you definitely chose the best stories to narrate & you do them so well 👏🏼
Great start to my favorite month. That second story was especially creepy, but that is Shirley Jackson's specialty. Thanks!
Shirley Jackson had a very strange imagination didn't she?!...
Loved the stories and as always Mr. Windy Nights!
I remember being in Junior High and the writer of the week was Jackson, her short stories being offered to us in a pamphlet = Our teacher said thusly, "anyway read these stories - they're weird!. I had been familiar with her work for some years, but couldn't resist saying to the teacher at her desk: "when you read these stories, you wonder whether she was weird in "real life" to which she replied "yeah, really - I know!"...
I have never heard these stories before and I thought I had read and reread EVERYTHING she ever wrote ; wow , thanks , your voice is perfect , I hope you keep it up , what a swoony way to spend an insomniac morning -
🎃🐾💛🌕🌓🎃✨
Thank you!
The lottery..greatest short story ever

@@WindyNightStories :)))
No one is creepier than Shirley.
I havent heard either of these and they are horrible.
Thankyou!
4:42 am, perfect time for Windy
I loved the first one but need a re-listen of the 2nd one . Love these stories, thank you.
Love me some Shirley Jackson!
Thanks for sharing these stories that I hadn’t heard before!
Thanks for listening! Jackson's darker short stories deserve to be better known!
sometimes I really wonder about Shirley Jacksons mental health. her stories are always so disturbing ominous. but then she was the prolific writer
Ha. In a great way. But… maybe a leeeedle bit, yeah. Sometimes it might have been a tad frightening to be her husband. Like the story with the ashtray.
Same with the husband in the Good Wife, which is obviously just her. She’d keep it interesting though. In a terrifying way.
She certainly wouldn’t have been my first choice for a babysitter….
Hahaha@@Paxtonparsnip
Her day job was articles for women's magazine's and she hated it there's a great video about her on RUclips
Thank you.
Love your channel, especially the obscure stories. Will you ever get merch? I would love to see that moon logo on a t-shirt.
Thank you so much! No plans for any kind of merchandise right now
Do not understand ending to 2nd story. Bizarre tale
The husband in The Good Wife is mentally disturbed!!!😢
NOOO You changed your intro! Why?? I hope this was only for the time being 🤞 the old one gave me such a cozy and comfortable feeling!
Edit: I have checked the date of this video and, somehow it’s one I missed 😅 but, I know I have seen more recent videos with my favorite intro safely intact, so my apologies! ❤
Ahhh! The husband is crazy and kidnapped is own wife. 😢
The woman's name is Why? Or the guy just pronounces the name wrong?
In the text it's "Y"
Could be short for Wynona or Yolanda or many others.
I must be thick as a blank I don’t get the ending to either story 😊
She tends to leave her stories kind of open ended in terms of meaning.
@@WindyNightStories Thanks for answering me 👍love your story’s look forward to them 💐
Deborah Mcgee - I've always said 'as thick as a plank' (as I've been called it more than once!).
I can't stand Shirley jackson
