- A sheriff's deputy was called to rescue a 1-year-old child after she got locked inside a car in a parking lot. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office in Florida says when the deputy arrived on scene, he was concerned for the child because of how hot it was outside. It also says he observed the child sweating inside the car. The sheriff's office says the deputy chose to break the window furthest from where the child was in the car. Inside Edition Digital's Mara Montalbano has more.
She was more concerned about the window than the child.
What's weird is it sounds like that's a bystander saying not to smash the window
I think she was concerned about the window being smashed because it looks like they’re living in that car. Look closely inside when they open the doors.
Screw the window that kid's life is on the line!...😰😰😰...😡😡😡...
@@tym3116 👍👍👍
@@antoniodiego9357um….the kid….was DYING in that car, DUMBBELL!!!
"I'm gonna smash the window"
"No, no, no"
Horrible parents caring more about property than their own kid!
Exactly! 😢
OH MY.
PREFER MY CAR THAT I BOUGHT.
THAN THE CHILD I PUSHED OUT.
That's most people in america nowdays
That is insane a window can be replaced the child can't.
Yes, but damaging the car would be too expensive.
At least she called police rather than running into walmart, buying clothes hanges, and spending an hour trying to unlock it.
Still disgusting for her to not let the Police smash the window
Could have asked for an emergency axe 🙄
@invictus3515 it's 100 times more disgusting that people just jump to conclusions basing there judgement on 1:30 minutes footage.
The news say the car door accidentally locked, and they immediately called 911. They said somebody will just come and unlock the door by key. Then the police guy comes and breakes their window. A girl was absolutely okay. The car wasn't that hot.
Well. The story really doesn’t tell us who called the police. And for the parent to say: no, don’t break the window. Ugh.
@@user-zj4zz4un5z Do you realize how quickly a car heats up in the sun?
Here comes summer and the hot car shenanigans by neglecting guardians. I'm glad that baby is ok. 😢
So its not always summer in Florida?
@UCONN_HUSKIES it is, but summer temperature is way higher, including the humidity.
Darwin was in action and that pig stopped him..shame.
They should take that baby away from her
More like neglecting *white* guardians
I would not be surprised if she expects the police to pay for the window.
Its scary to think how many of these kids weren’t lucky enough to live through something like that 😢
Oh my god this is so true…rest in peace.
About 38 per year in the US
so they rather pay for a funeral 2-4k than pay 100-300$ for a broken window? smh...
She was in a car for 10 minutes, for God's sake, she was absolutely fine and good...
@@user-zj4zz4un5z A quick google search: "A child's body temperature rises three to five times faster than an adult's. When a child is left in a hot vehicle, that child's temperature can rise quickly, and they could die within minutes". So no, you're incorrect. Please never have kids.
The baby needs a new mother, one that actually cares about her child. Most parents would've smashed the window themselves in this case.
Exactly! My windows would have been smashed before calling the police, eff insurance!!
Thank you!!!!! I was just about to comment this. Like .... Grab a rock stooopido!!! 😅😅😅
even better, they would have brought their child with them or just leave them at home with a babysitter!
@peanutbutterBrisket99 and she brought a child with her ...? The door locked.
If that was my DOG I wouldnt even wait 1 minute before I broke the window. Poor kid!
Same here.
Right, it's probably over 100 degrees in there. Thank God they got her out in time.
You're a strange person then
Terrible mother saying no don’t break the window
She won't be able to feed a child properly now, genius. Pay for a window when nothing was actually endangering a child.
@@user-zj4zz4un5z only takes 10 minutes smart guy educate yourself. Don’t act like you know anything from now on please
@@user-zj4zz4un5z it only takes 10 minutes for heat stroke to set in and that’s fatal smart guy
I feel really bad for the child😪😪😪
I do too bad parents raise bad parents.
Sidebar: That sheriff is gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Parent of the year right there.
As a former infant I would like to thank the deputy for doing what the parents wouldn't.
Making a broke family pay for a window debt.
@@user-zj4zz4un5z, they shouldn't have had children if they couldn't not lock them in the car in the heat of daylight.
The second the parents said no, I would have smashed the window.
Did you hear his voice? He sounded surprised. What do you mean No?, I have to
That is actually what happened tho
Looks like she may be living in her car. Might not be able to afford a new window. I'd break all windows to get my child out immediately, but also, dont officers have a tool to help open a door without totally destroying the property?
I am provided a lock out kit by my department: it's called my baton. Sorry if that hurts your feelings that a window must be smashed.
They used to carry a kit to help you back in the day if you were locked out. But now I guess the LE depts don't want to hold the liability anymore.
Cars don't have the pullup button on doors for a number of years now. High tech technology means you ain't getting in.
@@salliem424it's because technology has changed. That technique does not work on car models today.
I swear to god I didn’t just hear the mother say no to the officer smashing the window, I hope she said that out of concern for the baby and not for the window
yes,she probably thought the broken glasses may hurt the child and wanted to take chance.
She definitely was not thinking about her child when she said that. 🤦♀️
@@selamawitabraham740-gb6bh no tempered glass is actually not the type that shards but it beads so it really doesnt hurt you
Cops need to carry door poppers.
Or call the people who have one, instead of violent cops.
@@moonshoes11which cop was violent?

Who is more violent…
Someone who uses a key or tool to properly open the door…

@@moonshoes11 Eagerly. Lmao we watched different videos. A cop calmly smashed a window to save the life of a 1 year old. Get over that speeding ticket you got 5 years ago little boy
She seemed apprehensive about the window because it appeared they may live in the car… hope they’re all okay
They maybe more than 1 reason why she didn't want to get her window smash doesnt mean shes a "bad" parent
How many times do we have to see toddlers in hot cars?! 🤨👶🏼👮🏼♂️
Sad that this is a routine every summer in every year no matter how many times this happens it won't stop unless there was a new way or law about kids being left in these situations.
She was there for 10 minutes
@@user-zj4zz4un5z a baby's body isn't fully developed to handle the heat like an adult. No matter how many minutes the point still stands to never leave a child in a hot car.
Idk why is it so hard for some people and neglectful parents to understand that leaving kids alone in hot weather is a no.
My child’s life is more valuable than my car. 1000% I would’ve smashed the window myself before letting my daughter stay trapped in there for 10 minutes. Horrible parents.
Did she really say "no" to smashing the window 😳 10 minites in that heat, how could u make your baby wait a second longer.... I wouldn't have even waited for the police I would've broke the damn windows myself.
same here. its a shame
Were they living in that car? I do see the laundry bags
that would make sense why she didmt want the window smashed
Maybe she was also going to or coming back from the laundromat!!
Great parent, cares more about a cheap window then her child's wellbeing.
Cheap for you maybe. And the child was ABSOLUTELY OKAY in the end of day
Don't blame us. She's not from here if she doesn't know that child had minutes to live.
Florida Man
It may have days to live now that somebody made them pay for a window
The child was standing in the front seat. It would have been great if the mom or officer could have gotten the child to unlock the car from within.
Hell yeah officer amazing job!!
God bless that child. I see some comments about the parents concern; it looks like they have too much stuff in the care like they're living out of it. I hope that if they're homeless that they're getting some help; especially with a small child.
How can that mother say no to breaking the window.... if that was my kid the window would've been broken before even calling the cops without hesitation...
How the hell do you lock your child and the keys in the car??? Even if your in a rush your child should be one of the first things out of the car.
Easy. You accidentally hit the lock as your step out to remove your child from the car seat. What’s weird is how you act like the child is just supposed to magically step out before the parents.
@@changed_name1951 That is not what was meant it's thinking like that that probably got them into this situation, the child comes with their guardian first out of the car.
that p❤❤r sweet kid deservesa bravery award the deputy deserves a life saveing award
That window would of been smashed real quick even if i had to use my bear hands
Thank God she was okay!
Child neglect is a serious problem
I would have broken my own window if that's all that they were going to do. I wouldn't have waited 10 minutes. How did she think they would open it, police magic?
If it was my baby, I would just say, go ahead break my window, I have AAA 😂
Not a day goes by where I don’t thank God that I was born into a good and successful family. These poor kids get shafted with these scumbags as parents.
May 20th definitely was a hot day in Florida I'm still sweating!
I sometimes forget my air in the car on a hot summer day so I leave the windows open so it can breathe. I care more about nothing than most parents care about their children.
Awe....her poor screams at the end....💔💔💔
Hell I always have two keys. One I use and the other a spare. But that’s me. My kids always told me you’re a true mom offering snacks at 20+
Windows can be replaced. People's life cannot be replaced.
People really need to watch this story before judging the parents......Somehow the child was locked in the car with the keys and the parents called the cops immediately.
Always have spare key learned when
locked myself out of my car many years ago . Or hidden key under the car not visible
Yet another Florida Man story.
So heartbreaking
I would not have waited for cops! 10 damn minutes??
The parents reaction to the cop having to break the window was ridiculous to say the least. If it were my child, grandchild or pet and the cop says he has to break the window.... my response would've been either you break it or i will!
The fact that she is more concerned not to smash the car window than the safety of her own child! Shmo! 🤬 She def is not fit to be a parent!
The way I would be trying to smash the window myself before the cops got there
What I don’t understand is how do you FORGET that you brought your child with you??? And then how do you lock them in the car like what?
Maybe the parents may thought they were somewhere else but in reality there in the hot car dying
@@Kz002 not buying it
@@tayyy_tayyy03 But definitely not this parent though Some may accidentally leave them in the car but most just don't care
@@Kz002 but how do you accidentally leave your child in the car knowing that you went out of the house with them that doesn’t make any sense you forgot that quickly that your child was in the backseat?
I used to lock my keys in the car at least 4 times a year. Just absent minded/stressed, on autopilot. I once put my keys in my bag, got out to go around to the other side, pressed the automatic locks, and locked myself out. I really don't know how it used to happen so much, but because it did, I absolutely make sure I have my keys in hand before getting out. May be an ADHD thing, but I'm undiagnosed. I'm just glad I never had a child or medication in there. Try to have empathy. This probably doesn't happen all the time, and she seemed to be a single mom living in her car.
Very concerned parents, yes. For their window
without breaking how do the parent expect to open a locked car ?
They were promised a rescue team will just use a key they have. But the cop pulled up first
Absolutely ridiculous. If you leave your kids in the car you should go to prison
It’s that time of year parents grandparents be careful and don’t worry about a broken window
Summer is here , parents be aware ❤
Praise God, this story ended happily.
"Relief Parents" - My ass
It took me a second watch to realize those were the kid's parents. I thought it was a random bystander, they were wayyy too nonchalant
Yeah We could all her say no no to the cop about him busting the window .... If it was her rear end sitting in there she would want help .... What a crappy Mom
This is why you should always keep a spare key either in your wallet, purse, or hidden in a compartment outside of your vehicle
I would guess that she removed the key from the ignition, jump out of the car fast, shut the front door, and the car auto-locked.
1 year old? Thats a big 1 year old, looks to be about 3 or 4 years old lol
I'll never understand people why they don't take the time to get their kid out of the car.
My car won't lock if the key is inside!! Glad the baby is well!
Deputies need lock picking kit and stop breaking glass
Lockpicking is a skill that many locksmiths don't have so I'd hardly call it a realistic option for PD.
WTF !!!! THE MOM SAY NO 🫢🫢🫢
car parts can be replaced but not your child. This mom shouldn't even be a parent. Ugh
And the mother of the year award goes to……..💀
NEVER break a LITTLE window. ALWAYS a BIG one!
NEVER leave your CHILD locked in a hot CAR!!
She was more concern about the deam window 😢
I mean it's a Nissan Altima. That tells you all you need to know about the character of the driver.
At least she didn’t intentionally leave the baby like some idiots do. She was lame to worry about the window, and I can understand the worry about the money to replace it. I wonder why cops don’t carry slim Jim’s. Do they not work on newer cars like they used to?
She cares about the window!
Seriously I would be like breaking the window myself to save that baby the mother should think about her baby over a broken window I mean it what $50 to get a car window repaired nothing to dealing with funeral expenses if her baby didn’t survived but she got lucky today.
Cops need to carry window breaking tools.
Hopefully the child will find this video and recognize herself in abt 16 years and realize that her parents loved her alot but not enough that her well being is more important than the car
In my opinion the best way to get into a locked out car.... Call a toe company.. Once they arrive , they'll be in your car in less than 1 Minute .
It's already close to 90 degrees in Florida and humid. Please, please don't leave your children or pets in the car, not even if you park in the shade or leave the AC on because anything can happen and none of it is good. God bless you and yours. Stay safe.
Poor baby. That woman does not deserve children.
"No, no, no". Immediate call to CPS. That entire car is not worth your child's life, let alone the window. Despicable.
I mistakenly locked my keys in my car with my dog still inside last summer. Less than 60 seconds later i gladly broke the back window to rescue my dog. This lady didnt want to do the same to save her baby..SMH!!!
10 min inside! I will not even wait one minute, who cares about a window! Child first!
She should lose her parental rights, not only was she more concerned about her window getting broke but she kept a 1 year old in a hot car in a hot state, I don't have kids but I can guarantee I'd never forget my child in a hot car.
All children deserve parents but not all parents deserve children
In the old days cops carried around tools to open locked car doors without having to smash the window.
No no no to breaking the window??? I would have broken the window myself before the officer got there.
Damn
Is this the cop from the body cam videos chasing shoplifters in Walmart??
Horrible parents they didn’t want to smash the window how rude and disgusting that mom is so rude
Nice mother not caring about her child
When the police officer wanted to break the window, you can hear the mother saying “no”. Apparently, she cares more about her car than her kid. Disgusting.
Poor baby.
If that were me I wouldve asked the police to smash the window before he even said a word. How could you care about your car window in a time like this?
How was she locked outside & the baby inside is what I’d like to know.
Did she really just say no no no?
At least the top half of the windows were tinted
Why call a cop and wait? I would’ve smashed my own window immediately
Were the parents yelled at for leaving her in the car in the first place? Why didn't they put the window down since they knew it was hot out? How STUPID were the parents to stay calm while their daughter was in the hot car?
Big Altima Energy owner values the window over her kid.
I can’t believe her “no,no,no”. When this happened to my child IN COLORADO NOT HOT AZZ FLORIDA I WAS ABOUT TO BREAK THE WINDOW MYSELF TO GET MY BABY LUCKILY SHE FIGURED OUT HOW TO UNLOCK THE DOOR BEFORE I HAD TO. Wtf? I think mom needs a home visit🤔⁉️
