    Judgement should be on this list
    It’s 100 base power, 100 accuracy, 10PP. It’s type changes on its user (Arceus). Meaning it gets a stab boost so x1.5 boost so 150 damage, AND that the plate arceus is holding adds an extra x1.2 boost to all moves of the same type, making judgement a 180 base power move with 100 accuracy and 10PP, not to mention arceus has really good stats

    • @gameinsane4718
      @gameinsane4718 5 лет назад +52

      Technically if it wasn’t tied to Heatmor and got properly spread it’d be the inverse of Power-Up Punch.
      Power-Up Punch is still one of MegaK’s best moves (until SWSH that is when megas get the mass extinction treatment) and overall is a solid stall/wall break “set up while dealing damage and keeping momentum” move.
      Flame Lash realistically would be a much more intimidating switch deterrent and would be viable against phase teams where P-UP would falter.
      Geomancy is good… but phasing will ruin it and waste an item slot in the process and that’s one of the biggest downfalls I see Xerneas usually facing.

    • @KoboretaMiruku
      @KoboretaMiruku 5 лет назад +61

      @@gameinsane4718 power up punch and fire lash have very different effects though, lowering your target's defense is generally worse than boosting your own attack, esp for sweepers which are generally the types that actually go through with boosting moves. Lowering defense only works on the one target Pokemon until it faints or swaps out, boosting Atk can allow you to run through more than one Pokemon while continuing to boost. Also Geomancy boosts a ton of stats on a Pokemon that already has fantastic base stats, while heatmor is pretty lacking

    • @andrewcullen2527
      @andrewcullen2527 4 года назад +11

      See the difference, in my eyes, is that with geomancy your spending 2 turns doing no damage to boost your stats, where with Flame lash you still hitting base 80 stab the first time and only getting stronger with each hit.
      I think they are both good but I understand why he sees geomancy as bad.

    • @KoboretaMiruku
      @KoboretaMiruku 4 года назад +15

      @@andrewcullen2527 Andrew Cullen I understand your thinking, but while flame lash has 80 bp it's still coming off a Pokemon with under 100 base attack and other stats that are far worse. Even ignoring that and assuming xerneas and heatmor had the same base stats, moonblast, which is the most common move after Geomancy boost, has a bp of 95 and with Geomancy your special is doubled as well, so after just two attacks you're massively out damaging the heatmor who is only slowly increasing the base 80 flame lash. Fairy type is also far more effective of an attacking and defending type than fire. The aforementioned also ignores the fact many players run power herb which allows Geomancy to charge in just one turn, making it clearly more effective. The only possible situation in which flame lash would be better is if you could one shot the xerneas while it's using Geomancy which takes a lot more effort than stopping a heatmor.

      Not only VGC. I mean Xern in singles is either specs/scarf or bulky resttalk (veery rare case). Most sets are Powerherb Geomancy. You only need one free turn for a potential moonblast sweep (don't forget the fairy aura making +2 stab from a great sptack reaaally strong). And the is plenty of setup fodder in ubers. Scarf Yveltal (especially locked in dark pulse), lugia (without whirlwind, burned physical attackers (Ekiller), a lot of arceus forms... especially defensive willow defog recover judgment ones and plenty more. A team without multiple Xerneas checks is bad. Groudon can be worn down, sash marshadow can lose it's sash, magerna can be worn down. The best check to xerneas is probably duskmane. But even that has to be careful and can't just switch in and take 2 big hits.

If you used Fairy Lock before fainting (especially considering Prankster) you could effectively give yourself a free turn to set up on whatever was left in. A common partner was Gyarados whose Intimidate allowed it to set up on Zard X pretty easily. I really like this list a ton. Lots of Gen 5 and Gen 6 love here as well. I will say that from a competitive standpoint, Xerneas' Geomancy is often paired with a Power Herb, which typically makes the move overpowered.
    Likewise though, I've seen a good bit of Oblivion Wing from Yveltal around the same rate as Geomancy, so best case scenario, they're both really powerful moves.
    I really wish that Heatmor was a stronger (or at least faster Pokemon) so that Fire Lash could become useful. But yeah, great video!

      Don't take his opinion very seriously it's obvious that he's not even considering the competitive side of things.
      I'd be fine with that of it weren't for the clickbait title, instead of best it should have been favorite. Haven't finished watching yet and I know sketch, thousand arrows, dark void, geomancy, and specteral thief isn't even on the list despite half these pokemon only being much more viable because of the signature move with marshadow being the only real exception(notice how after dark void nerf Darkrai immediately stopped being a theat in ubers)

      Also, something to add on .__.
      Electrify is extremely situational, as you just said. Could work with Volt absorb.
      Or lightning rod. That'd make it better as well.

    • @HaileyTheThird
      @HaileyTheThird 5 лет назад

      @@titanium4082 Taunt isn't a counter to geomancy because Xerneas can simply switch out, keeping power herb intact to use at a later point. Encore doesn't work unless used by pokemon with prankster, most of which are terrible in competitive (the best being Whimsicott). Spectral thief is another signature move, but a max speed Marshadow can't outspeed a +2 Xerneas and gets OHKO'd by moonblast. Realistically, the only true counter to geomancy Xerneas is a phasing move like roar or whirlwind, which started to be used by Groudon and Lugia respectively only after Xerneas was introduced. So geomancy was so powerful that it changed the best set on two pokemon, literally shifting the meta.
      And even if you counted all of that, a signature move that has only four theoretical counters, one of which is exclusive to one pokemon, sounds pretty overpowered to me.

    Also, Mystic Fire is kinda terrible to be honest.
    Good thing it's only on Delphox and Braixen doesn't have to use it.
    Edit: Apparently I have to point out that I found it bad due to personal experience. If one thinks a move is bad that's objectively good(i.e. Mystic Fire), it's due to the fact that they didn't find it of use to *them.*

      Also, lowering your foe's special attack by 1 stage while dealing damage isn't bad. Snarl does the same and there are a few pokes that use snarl, except mistical fire has 10 more base power in gen6(which Mismagius also got it that gen), and got 75 base power on gen7, so now it's definitely far from terrible, unlike your judgement of moves.

    You could actually change your move order in battle by pressing select in the fight screen in the older games. Doesn't really make Conversion that much better, but it at least used to have more usage. You might be able to do it in the summary screen during battle in the newer games but I never thought to try.

It leaves you to "scramble" for anything better? A "hard-boiled" attempt to cause damage? Dragon Hammer was "poached" by Tropius? The only unique feature left in their "basket"?
