They should have named this fragrance YSL Soap Bomb.
Also on a sidenote who gets mad at reviewers for reviewing from a decant? The juice isn't any different than from bottle it came from. 😆
YSL Y Elixir - it is exactly that saopiness that wins me over !!!
Its crazy how different ppl can experience a fragrance. I definitely get the wood part in this with the incenses. I primarily buy fresh fragrances, so that could be it. Definitely try it for yourself and sit with it for about an hour.
I tried this at Macys the other day. Honestly, the price of this is insulting. It's nothing special and the performance is avarage at best. Sauvage elixer is expensive, but it's a super strong beast mode. Even boss bottled elixer smells good and is reasonably priced. I just cant see how YSL can justify the price for this.
A lot of Elixirs go darker or more masculine while this one goes sweeter/richer. The longevity isn’t up to par w/other elixirs, but I think it’s bc YSL is my signature smell so I’m used to it. I had someone tell me it was still strong 8 hours later.
I got to try this out yesterday. I get:
Basically I get Y EDT in the opening with a prominent soapy accord. As it dries I agree it kinda ventures into Le Parfum territory and the soapiness becomes less prominent and you get a very light smokey+woods in the dry down but it’s very mild. 8-8.5 but I wish they went a decent amount more in the incense+woods and earlier. Maybe how Brioni edp intense did it or add a touch of oud for greatness in the base could of been interesting …otherwise it’s not worth the price but it is nice at closer to $100. And I would need to sell or finish a blue scent first cause I have too many lol

Smelled this a month later and opening was a bit different to me, I loved it. After a half hour it’s just Y. But first half hr amazing !
See I get the y dna in the drydown but definitely has its own twist going on
Forgot to compare it to the latest Y EDP Intense which for me is the best in the line
I don’t find them similar at all. But while I like it y EDP intense is my least favorite in the line and the only one I don’t own as I sold it

Is it like bar soap soapiness, shower gel soapiness? EDP Intense has a big time shower gel feel

@@davidwestwood2457 no prob bud. The drydown as I said in the video does mellow out but ya def a soap bomb for a good bit. And ya the creed Centaurus full review comes after a few good wears which I have to wait for some cool days so may not be for a couple weeks

What’s the best Y?
🗑 I'll stick with the edp then when I run out of that I'll get the edp intense or the le parfum.
No way this is 60ml frag is worth the $180 price tag, especially since the DNA and performance don’t offer a “wow” factor. Sauvage elixir has a clear “wow” factor and performance and costs less. I bet most people would still choose Y EDP over this. For price comparison, Nordstrom Rack is selling 200ml of YSL Y EDT for $89.
It’s a more wearable and mature edp. But performance sucks or anosmic…..price is a joke
i blind bought a 10 milliliter bottle of ysl y l'elixir for 50 bucks. very glad i didn't spend more money on this very bad perfume. worst of all y perfumes and only lasts an hour on my skin, after that it's barely noticeable. it was the same for my friends who got to test it.
overpriced. they become billionaire by idiots who pay $220 for 60ml
Retail it def is. But it’s on some sites around $100 now which isn’t bad
