I am getting a lot of traffic to my channel from this video and just wanted to thank everyone for watching and subscribing! I really appreciate it! This isn't meant to be a technical video whatsoever and is definitely pretty ridiculous. I daily vlog, turning each day into a story of it's own in a cinematic way. This was done in a few hours after work to share how I have been living in my jeep and is not my normal vlog whatsoever. Thanks again for watching and I appreciate all the support!
I just brush my teeth and i use the bathroom anywhere but the jeep. I'm normally out in the middle of nowhere or at a coffee shop uploading a vlog. I shower at gyms when I work out!
Two years ago I found the video of Jake setting up a hammock in his jeep and then this. I instantly fell in love with the channel. To see how far the 50 state road trip has gone and how much the channel has grown is amazing.
This video has 441 thousand views. I don't know why all 441 thousand haven't subscribed, because I love your content. I've been binge watching for the past few days trying to get caught up. It's really inspiring, I'd love to do this in my Jeep one day
Definitely be careful on the leaving out of the meats and eggs. The periods of time I mentioned are extremes and weren't the norms. If I buy raw meat I try to eat it that same day, and eggs within a few days. The meat left out for closer to 2 days was bought frozen and kept in the shade. The eggs I had for a week out definitely are a little sketchy. I don't recommend doing this just getting it out that there is some wiggle room. This is just my experience and yes there always is a possibility of getting sick. But I've also gotten food poisoning from eating a frozen pizza IMMEDIATELY after cooking it.
+William Saint Most countries have different regulations and therefore deal with salmonella differently which is why the U.S. washes and then refrigerates it's eggs.
I just spent the past hour watching your videos and I have got to say your life is so cool you have such a positive out look and are so inspiring, you have gained a subscriber.
A few days yes,but more then that be careful. Eggs in the U.S. Go through a cleaning proses that removes a protective coating on it, unlike other countries and that's why they are refrigerated.
Umm. It because most countries don't have their eggs in transportation as long as the US. If you buying at the grocery store, eggs are already weeks old. Local farm, no worries
Wow, a Jeep Unlimited would be like having a small apartment. Enjoy your life. You will look back on these days and say that's when I was the most happy in life. I suggest to NEVER GET MARRIED. ;-)>
if your wife doesn't allow you to go camping on your own for a day or two is she your wife? Or just a female watching you and your actions? hmmm. Marry the one that wants you not the one you want.......
Im an old lady and so Im not going to live in my car. I don't know how I got to your video, but it was very entertaining! Good luck to you on your travels!
actually been considering going in the woods and camping for a few days but don't like sleeping on the ground. definitely going to check out the cot idea in my tj
I can see your channel blowing up man. Keep at it. If you ever need background music let me know. I have tons of instrumentals you can use of all kinds.
i have actually thought about doing this and go on a road trip. I'm hoping to get a wrangler but if I don't, I'll probably end up getting a truck with a big cover thing on the bed. it's a big plus because you don't have to pay rent
we keep chickens for the eggs and I learned that there is a thin film on the egg when hatched. if you don't wash that off the eggs can go for at least a month unrefrigerated
Right?! We have chickens as well and everyone thinks that eggs have to be refrigerated but that is not the case. Further, you mentioned about the added natural layer of protection...yes, with eggs you are not suppose to wash them ever because then the water can help transfer bacteria through the shell and start bad things.
I traveled all over California and the Southwest for 5 months last year and camped half the time and slept across the front seat of my 2005 TJ. My gear was in the back. I didn't even bother cooking anything. Just ate cold foods. I slept in rest stops, visitor centers, pull offs, hotel parking lots, Walmart, truck stops and neighborhoods. A few parks. Only got hassled once in Carmel, CA and the cops asked me to move to the supermarket lot. You can be stealthy in a Jeep or car, unlike a camper or RV.
This was the very first video I watched of Jakes. So glad that I started watching following and subscribed. I've now started from the beginning and just caught back up to this one. Can't wait until you make it to Massachusetts!!!
On your stove, the little mettle clips with the bumpy things are supposedly go in the holes on the base. One of the holes is near the propane hook up. We have those stoves in Boy Scouts
First video I have seen of someone living in Wrangler and I have looked. Thanks for sharing. I know how I would do it and plan to build out our Wrangler one day. Good thing it's an unlimited. I will use it on short trips instead of T-Rex, a 4x4 class B van. Happy trails.
Dude the first video of yours I watched, lol a while ago, way back before we were both in Overland Bound. You’ve come a long way Jake, proud of you buddy, thanks for the great videos!
I do the same thing in my TJ, but I use a board over the dash, passenger seat and back seat. It's a tight fit, but with a good sleeping pad its comfortable.
It's kinda hilarious how hard people try to be "cool" and unique. I'm not certain there's many people that could stand that "whoa, dude!" persona 24/7. I'm all for living in cars or trucks or RV's or whatever the hell you wanna live in, though. Good for you for being adventurous....but, for real, chill. lol.
I know it’s expensive upgrades but a nice Ursa Minor installed in your Jeep will make your living quarters so much better! Upgrade your life in the Jeep also a nice refrigerator will make it a super plus. O yeah don’t forget your solar panels and your good to go kid 👍👍😁
Just buy your eggs unwashed from a local farm and they do not need refrigeration since the cuticle is still on the egg to protect it. This how they do not refrigerate in Europe for up to a month.
Yeah I've lived in my jeep for a short time a few times, it's much more difficult in a 2 door when you're tall. I'm a little over 6 foot and 200lbs and my biggest issue was that I just couldn't not sleep without getting all squished up uncomfortably. I found it much easier to carry a sleeping bag, bivy bag, and thermarest and just sleep next to/underneath the jeep but that's not always an option in winter or in sketchy areas
You have actually broaden my horizon with the idea of jeep living. I really like the stealth aspect of it. I'm a bigger guy so I will need a bigger jeep. The Earth-roamer jeep is like the holy grail of jeep living lol (but it cost about 50k 😡)
when you pass a guy driving a high end car with a family and he looks stressed out. Smaller at him as if to say I got it way better than you dude! I'm 55 and would love to live in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Who knows maybe one day my wife will really possible me off and I'll take an extended trip. just me and the jeep.
You've got the dreaded YJ. Roughest riding machine on trails ever. My first jeep was a YJ. I had a vac line broken on the 4x4 and I climbed the biggest mountains in 2x2 thinking I was in 4x4 lol. I couldn't believe it and I didn't find that out until I sold it. I own a TJ now and the ride diff is drastically better.
I have been thinking about living in my Jeep Patriot periodically while trying to get my foot in the door in LA. I will have to keep up with your show!
about 50 years ago, when I was a kid, my parents would cook steak and what left over would go to china cuborad. no cooling, also apple pies. we never got sick.
+Mayson Yancey Wow that's quite the compliment! Mean's a lot man thank you! Pretty much had no prior editing or filming experience 3 months ago when I started this. I knew a everyday vlog would be the fastest way to get spun up!
This is one thing I want to do someday. Id problably use a mini fridge but thats not a problem. Great channel! I just subscribed. Stoked to see you get big!
Just want to let you know that with eggs they have quite a long shelf life without having to be refrigerated. I'm talking like close to a month or better..
Not sure if very well edited, or too over done... I like the Jeep though. I did a cross country road trip in my TJ Wrangler and lived out of it for almost two months. Tight vehicle for living, but very fun and do-able. And I couldn't agree more on how great that camp stove is!
I vlog and upload daily, from sunrise to sunset most days. This wasn't meant to be a technical video whatsoever just having fun being goofy showing how I live in my Jeep on the road. I just quick made this after working 10 hours for that day's vlog. Your trip sounds awesome! That is my plan eventually down the road when funding is available. Thanks so much for watching and welcome to my channel!
iamjake Damn dude, that's a lot of vloging and editing! I can see you had fun with the video! :) I highly recommend a cross country trip! I went on a pretty tight budget myself. I'm finally starting to edit my video from it. I'll be posting video edits and vlogs on my personal channel soon. Keep up with your own videos. Living on the road is a hell of an adventure!
I always have my hammock in my 2door tj, its not easy but if its raining I hang it from the passenger front corner to the driver rear and its workable. Once i rode out a hell of a thunderstorm (stranded cuz my frkn battery was dead) out in the middle of nowhere. I really thought I was gonna die lol.
You could of gotten the 4 door jeep used from someone that's selling it and you could get a whole lot more room take the seats out and make some modifications to it make it comfy
Wow...randomly found this and it's hilarious. Great video! I do have a question: Why is there so many cuts/edits? For example, at the 8:00 you say "Last summer when I was living in the jeep..." Then there is a cut to you finish the sentence. What could have possibly happened between those to fractions of a sentence that required editing lol Also, love the epic Halo music when showing completely ordinary items lol
haha how do you wash the clothes? also im sure you already may know this but if you were looking to save some more space you could try a smaller backpacking propane stove with a pot or pan to cook food.
Made me laugh a few times and for that good sir you deserve a thumbs up!!! good superhero.villain voice btw haha that is how cool things should be introduced ALWAYS ! take note people !
You need one of those plastic drawers you can buy at Walmart for less then twenty bucks. Also a small cooler. Why not build a plywood bed that has compartments that lift up so you can store stuff!! You can even line one and make one a cooler!!
Eggs dont need refrigeration, also with meat ive used a brine solution just to keep it in for awhile while unfridgerated..happy camping bruh cool channel!
Just to add on to the egg thing.. A lot of people have made the point that eggs aren't refrigerated in other countries and therefore you don't need to either. Eggs bought in the US must be refrigerated. It has to do with the different practices of salmonella prevention. European hens are vaccinated and therefore the inside of the egg should not have salmonella (which makes it okay to be stored at room temp) while US eggs are simply washed and refrigerated. Both methods work, but not if you don't refrigerate your eggs in the US.
Jake you inspired me 3 years ago and after this semester I'm going into the wild with my jeep thanks man

Hey man I'm from Oregon too! Portland is great, I'm jealous of your jeep. Subbed.
Small world! Thanks for the sub Ethan! Welcome to the channel!
How do you brush your teeth and use the bathroom
what year wrangler?
I just brush my teeth and i use the bathroom anywhere but the jeep. I'm normally out in the middle of nowhere or at a coffee shop uploading a vlog. I shower at gyms when I work out!
This was the most entertaining van life tour I’ve watched in a while (and I’ve watched a TON.) 10/10 for your personality and camera presence
Indeedie! 😋

jake gets baked. is what this should be called, love it lol
Haha! One of my weirder vids for sure! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Definitely be careful on the leaving out of the meats and eggs. The periods of time I mentioned are extremes and weren't the norms. what about washing your clothes and going to the bathroom? (public laundromat and public bathrooms maybe?)
gyms and laundromats yes!
gyms and laundromat!
eggs are good for at least 2 weeks brother. Most countries don't ever refrigerate eggs.
Video was great! pretty classic!

By far the most unique rig video I've seen yet. Very freaking nice.
Eggs are actually okay to not be refrigerated! In most countries they don't refrigerate them.
A few days yes,but more then that be careful. Eggs in the U.S. Go through a cleaning proses that removes a protective coating on it, unlike other countries and that's why they are refrigerated.
Nenben they last longer refrigerated
Agree, I live in Costa Rica and our eggs are never refrigerated
I suggest to NEVER GET MARRIED. ;-)>
Especially the TJU they would be awesome for this I feel compared to this yj
ill keep this in mind mark.
Mark Hoffman definitely I've been able to comfortably sleep 2 people in the back w/ the just the rear seats down
Mark Hoffman
if your wife doesn't allow you to go camping on your own for a day or two is she your wife? Or just a female watching you and your actions? hmmm. Marry the one that wants you not the one you want.......

Ayee O!!!!
Best Jeep, Car, Van, Skoolie life Tour Video EVER!!! SUPER ENTERTAINING
i have actually thought about doing this and go on a road trip. I'm hoping to get a wrangler but if I don't, I'll probably end up getting a truck with a big cover thing on the bed. it's a big plus because you don't have to pay rent
They sell a bumper that can store water in it for wranglers
AzureXJ what's it called?
Kaden Bohm Actually, plug the holes on the bottom of the stock bumper, and you can keep 7 gallons of water in it.
Great job Jake. Be safe and will see you in a couple months.
I love watching some of these older vlogs, since you're on vacation. I hope all is well and hope you are enjoying your time with the whole fam damily.
Thanks for bleeping out Oz! Appreciate the kid friendly channel since I’m a kid😂 (at heart.). But him peeping Tom was hysterical!

Jared Shaffer True. But they still shouldn't be a problem.

This video was epic and informational! I loved it! When I get my jeep finished I just might have to try living in it for a bit!
Get a yeti or Rtic cooler -holds ice for 6days
Why are you here downshift? Hahah 😂
+Dreamless Designs I dunno- it was in my recommended =)
I was also wondering why you where here lol.
Wait.. another person using downshift as a handle MIND BLOWN! I've been use downshift6to4 as a tag for a long time. Awesome.
down the rabbit hole I went
Dude the first video of yours I watched, lol a while ago, way back before we were both in Overland Bound. You’ve come a long way Jake, proud of you buddy, thanks for the great videos!
Dude what is the epic opera music u play when introducing the Coleman water container 🤣🤣 I'm weaaakkkk
Is your friend baked? Were you baked? Inquiring minds want to know
Definitely.
I'm impressed you have a YJ that's still running.
Not gonna lie, well edited and entertaining videos man :)
Appreciate it thank you and welcome to my channel!
+iamjake sorry but why are you living in a jeep
iamjake is too underrated

Probably the woods with a roll of TP

jeep on my friend.
This video is in my recommend for no reason but I'm glad it was and you should be to because your channel is gonna blow up
Appreciate it Lynx that means a lot! Welcome to my channel!
is there a shower in the engine compartment?
I see what influences your editing and camera skills, great work! Make it you man.
You have actually broaden my horizon with the idea of jeep living. I really like the stealth aspect of it. I'm a bigger guy so I will need a bigger jeep. The Earth-roamer jeep is like the holy grail of jeep living lol (but it cost about 50k 😡)
Awesome glad to hear it! The Earth-roamer would be sick! At my age I don't mind not having any of those added comforts and I love my old Jeep.
vincent X luckily that's not much more than the Rubicon. Lol
This channel will be huge, calling it
when you pass a guy driving a high end car with a family and he looks stressed out. Smaller at him as if to say I got it way better than you dude! I'm 55 and would love to live in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Who knows maybe one day my wife will really possible me off and I'll take an extended trip. just me and the jeep.
Im rooting for you buddy! We all are!
Get a teardrop camper and take her with you dude.
You've got the dreaded YJ. Roughest riding machine on trails ever. My first jeep was a YJ. I had a vac line broken on the 4x4 and I climbed the biggest mountains in 2x2 thinking I was in 4x4 lol. I'm glad your didn't get sick.
The fact that you used a Halo song is amazing
Pretty cool ... I just got a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was thinking the about it before the weather heats up.
I have been thinking about living in my Jeep Patriot periodically while trying to get my foot in the door in LA. I will have to keep up with your show!
Lmao the level of Oz is baked to shit at 7:26 is hilarious.
Really well edited and funny. Good job, man.
about 50 years ago, when I was a kid, my parents would cook steak and what left over would go to china cuborad. no cooling, also apple pies. we never got sick.
Found this in my recommended videos and I work right down the street from the ANG Base!
Small world!
editing so good. i enjoy watching you more than many youtubers have millions of subscribers.. so interesting to watch
+Mayson Yancey Wow that's quite the compliment! Mean's a lot man thank you! Pretty much had no prior editing or filming experience 3 months ago when I started this. I knew a everyday vlog would be the fastest way to get spun up!
I love how you used the halo theme song! haha
if you rub mineral oil on the eggs it will preserve them maybe any oil will work but not sure. Eggs are porous so air gets in an oil prevents that
7:18 I thought I lost the left speaker in my headset, I shat bricks brah. Speaking of, where do you shit?
This is one thing I want to do someday. Id problably use a mini fridge but thats not a problem. Great channel! I just subscribed. Stoked to see you get big!
LOL, the monk chorale was a great touch.
first video I've seen by you and love your channel, awesome editing and love the jeep
same
Thanks so much! Welcome to the channel!
small trailer might be a good investment in terms of general storage, cooler, etc.
ah dude this halo4 soundtrak
Just want to let you know that with eggs they have quite a long shelf life without having to be refrigerated. I'm talking like close to a month or better..
The music used to transition between "situations" is hilarious.
the last suitcase scene was epic
Jake u should buy a little sleeper camper u seem like the type who could live in one and enjoy it instead of hating it
I love the whole idea of living out of your car :) really enjoyed this vid
I highly recommend a cross country trip!
I really thought I was gonna die lol.
first video ive seen by you,and i must say I love your videos now!you earned a sub!keep up the great work!!!
Really appreciate your support thank you and welcome to my channel!
You could of gotten the 4 door jeep used from someone that's selling it and you could get a whole lot more room take the seats out and make some modifications to it make it comfy
I also keep my clothes in a suitcase. Easier and not as heavy as a dresser.
Nice! The rectangular shape works well in my boxy jeep and you can really cram a lot of clothes in there too!
I have never heard of a RUclipser that lives/films so close to me. I live 10 minutes away from battleground
Invest in solar panels for the roof for A\C
U still need bigass batteries, they don't work at night
+JRFGaming obviously you need batteries but you wouldn't leave it always running
+RaFi TV then why do u need solars
+JRFGaming you're so fucking stupid you put a switch on the batteries and save the energy the solar panels generate during a sunny day
+RaFi TV oh is that right? I'm positive that a battery like that can't last all night, smart ass learn how to spell
Two things
1. How come you are living in a Jeep? How long do you plan to live in it?
2. My right ear enjoyed this a little bit more than my left ear.
The meat part is sketchy...but eggs are no biggie. You don't need to refrigerate eggs.
classic vise grip to hold the hatch open trick
Love the halo music
were do you shit?
you know they make adult diapers right
Wow...randomly found this and it's hilarious. Great video!
I do have a question:
Why is there so many cuts/edits?
For example, at the 8:00 you say "Last summer when I was living in the jeep..." Then there is a cut to you finish the sentence. What could have possibly happened between those to fractions of a sentence that required editing lol
Also, love the epic Halo music when showing completely ordinary items lol
Kerz erudition bosidjdjjdkdidjdhfjdjdjdjjdjrjrodbdbdn oopps my cat stepped on my phone i also live car so ya
"My jeep, my vehicle, my baby..."
Is that a reference to stick am girl? lol
Just stumbled upon your videos today you should get a roof basket or a trailer hitch basket to haul around more stuff when you need it
haha how do you wash the clothes? also im sure you already may know this but if you were looking to save some more space you could try a smaller backpacking propane stove with a pot or pan to cook food.
Get military food all you have to do is add water and heat also it last for a long time
MREs are great but they are kinda pricey when they aren't being given to you pallets at a time.
+Ryan Hard in the guard there is always a surplus of mre because nobody wants to eat them...he could prob snag some from a supply sgt
Great way to live in a Jeep!
Thanks!
I'm sure it's been said but coat the eggs in olive oil and they can remain without going bad with no refrigeration for a while.
Made me laugh a few times and for that good sir you deserve a thumbs up!!! good superhero.villain voice btw haha that is how cool things should be introduced ALWAYS ! take note people !
Ah yes. A propane cooker deserves the glory of the Halo 3 theme
The Halo music completes this
This is some genius humor haha great stuff
Appreciate it Samuel! Welcome to the channel!
Eggs bought from the store usually need refrigeration because they are cleaned and the protective coating is washed from them.
Get a truck extended bed buy a cap and sleep in the bed of the truck there will be more room
The 205 bridge when its raining is scary lol
Thank you for cutting out the foul language me and my kids enjoy watching your Stuff.we are watching your Chanel all the way from Maldives islands😊
Just to add on to the egg thing.. A lot of people have made the point that eggs aren't refrigerated in other countries and therefore you don't need to either. Those propane bottles are lit last my dab rig months per bottle .... and people waste money on spensive butane😂😂😂😂
Love your personality.. So glad I ran into your channel
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
