It had nothing to do with her not wanting to wear a bikini anyway it's because she wore a Katy Perry costume instead of a Gaga costume for the assignment, she could've just worn a non revealing Gaga costume but instead she decided to sabotage the performance for no reason and ruin it for the others who had worked hard on it, it was just to spite Jake (mind you Jake was being a complete ass that episode)
I hate how they never had kurt or Blaine reach out to santana when she got outed. They don’t have to be friends, but they both, especially kurt, know what it’s like to get bullied for your sexuality and to be afraid to come out.
Yeah. But I think most importantly they had to put a scene of brittany talking to Santana or rather singing to her. Like, she cared so much for Santana and she knew how hard this was for her, but all we got to see was a quick hug at the end.
they did the entire episode so wrong, i would've loved to see a scene of some klaine talking to santana and trying to help her and her accepting their help (would've been nice wlw/mlm solidarity) and a scene of brittany saying something or comforting santana but instead we got finn singing "girls just want to have fun" 😐

I definitely would’ve liked some scenes between Klaine and Santana. They both knew what she was going through. And Brittany is her actually girlfriend and there were pretty much no Brittana scenes. Like wtf?? Finn should’ve been in the background for the entire episode. Come on, you already outed-you’ve done enough.

Right, Sue was nasty to people most of the time, but she always knew when to tone it down or when it really would to harm. Will always did bad things and sue would call him out on it.

non-gleeks will never understand how hard that Tongue Tied scene hits. Like the vibe of the song, the way they were all just having fun, the way we waited 3 seasons to see them win, the fact that they're graduating, its all just so heartwarming. No other scene will ever give me the amount of serotonin that scene does

It’s why I love that they never won until then. It makes it so much more satisfactory to see them celebrate their victory when you know how hard they’ve worked for 3 years and haven’t won until now. More shows need to do that imo. Most shows nowadays with competitions have the main characters win all the time and it’s boring.

They did nothing at all, not only Rachel got no consequences, for example Santana bodyshaming Finn, Finn outing Santana, the whole slushie thing, Kitty giving Marley an ED. Honestly they either had zero consequences or too much (for example with Marley getting kicked out because she was uncomfortable)

I feel like Ryan Murphy is an absolute idiot, it’s like he never follows his storylines. Like In season 2 when Quinn said she had big New York plans and then NOTHING HAPPENED. And in season 4 Blaine said he was gonna take sue and her Cheerios down but he didn’t do anything. Another thing is that we never got to see Beth again or see Quinn’s sister even once😭💔
Also Ryder said he was leaving glee after regionals in season 4 but then he was still there in season 5

This show could be so incredibly tone deaf at the worst possible times.

This is all very true, but I wonder how far off this scene was (and glee in general) to a lot of the things us kids experience growing up in our small town bigoted environments. I always wonder what the intent of these kinds of scenes are, and their awareness when writing them. They’re sad and awful and depressing but when it comes to glee, how far off are they from a representation of our realities? Intent vs Impact is so important in Glee and they are ALWAYS teetering on the line, mostly because for that time, they took A LOT of risks.

On one hand I agree, but Santana was a bitch through and through. She bullied and tormented people for all sorts of reasons, she even blackmailed Karofsky and threatened to out him if he didn't do what she wanted. She was prepared to do exactly what Finn did to her, but with malicious intent, which Finn didn't have.
Will was a terrible teacher, as a spanish teacher he didn't even knew spanish, as a glee teacher he never taught them anything, he just threw songs and assignments at them, we literally never see him teaching technique and he did many terrible things the whole serie
In season one you could argue that he did teach a little bit- poorly and uselessly. But there was a hint, a whiff of curriculum; we see him in a classroom, concerned about his students' grades, grading papers even! But after that he's just that creep who graduated a decade ago but still comes and hangs out to relive the glory days.

I didn't hate Kurt's voice, but his lower register was really under utilized and his higher notes always sounded like he was straining even though he wasn't
his lower register in Home from 6 six, while brief, was just 💕
they made him sing a lot of songs that weren't necessarily suited to his voice. like they made him go into his head voice a lot when he sounded awesome in his chest voice, just because he could hit the notes that other boys couldn't when he sounded amazing in his mid register

The fact that Carmen Tibideaux told Kurt that “Being Alive” was one of the most tired, over-sung songs for a NYADA audition, so he sang a risky choice instead and KILLED IT with Carmen complimenting him on it...only to reject him instead. AND THEN accept him next year when he sings, oh what’s that? BEING ALIVE!!! Please could the glee writers at least once remember their previous episodes when writing a new one 😭😭

tbh, Rachel messing up her nyada audition was realistic. performers who rehearse and practice too much to get everything perfect often forget something or make mistakes while performing because they’re focusing too much on getting it perfect, instead of just performing.

it was so brave for the writer to take Rachel from her pedestal and put her in realistic problems, that I felt really empathic for her. But then, they just decide that she's perfect again and put her in nyada which is just very sad because she could have been developed really good, learning about her mistakes and changing the way she was

in my opinion she shouldn't have gotten into nyada, at least not for like another half season or something. you have to give up sometimes and you have to learn to deal with failure. she was an idiot for not having ANY sort of backup plan. like, her entire life depended on this this one performance and she messes it up, and if they stuck with it would have been a really good way to develop her character, but NOPE, all hail queen berry. also i'm convinced the tina body switch episode was made bc the creators realised nobody liked rachel and they wanted to fix it.

it always irritated me that kurt didn’t get into nyada from his audition because it was one of his best performances on the show
SAME! One of the things I never liked about glee is characters facing in consequences for febrile actions, ever! Like Rachel should have had to deal with her failure, something that is realistic for a lot of people a testament to her character. And shows that you have to bounce back after a failure and that life doesn’t always go to plan. Kruger should have got in and Rachel could have had the winter showcase bit, or again learned to deal with her failure.

Rachel choked her audition. Completely bombed, but because she did well in a performance separate to the auditions, she was accepted. The same performance Kurt was also in (though he didn’t have a solo).

I don’t understand how Mr Shoe actually won teacher of the year. he’s a spanish teacher but he’s racist and he doesn’t know spanish. he is the coach of the glee club but a) he just takes credit for their talent he, they’ve proved that they’re just as good without him and b) he’s the coach of the club that’s not his actual teaching position. Finn saw how Kurt was treated because of his sexuality and in Season 3 we also had Karofsky’s storyline where he attempted suicide because his classmates found out about his sexuality. Yes she was a bully at times but NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING gives you the ‘right’ to out someone.

I think Chris' voice has a lot to do with his speaking voice which is very high and up in his head area. I find his voice amazing and quite pleasing but I guess it's one of these voices that either you like or don't like.

I used to be obsessed with Ezria as a teen. But now I see how ridiculous and toxic their relationship was. Aria was groomed by Ezra, especially considering how he knew she was underage when they first met. It’s crazy how these teacher student romance lines were given the green light 8 years ago because something like that would NOT be accepted today if it was meant to be romanticized.

I think early Rachel was actually someone a lot of people could relate to. There was a portion of my life where I just cared *so* much about everything I did, and it made me inadvertently annoying to people. But the show killed every chance Rachel had for growth through plot contrivance, and that was just sad. Rachel could have been an example of someone growing as a person, bonding with others, and learning that there is more than the hyper-focused, talented only child world she grew up in. And the show runners couldn’t do it
the show did that to many characters! the moment they showed any type of growth they would go back to making the same mistakes or three times worse the next episode! it was so annyoing!! santana being super mean to everyone, brittney and sam being dumb, sue trying to destroy the glee club over and over, and obviously rachel being selfish and annoying.

I love how during Shake it Off while Santana, Mercedes, and Tina are singing their hearts out, Brittany and Sugar are just sitting there smiling.
