Mesmerizing. I played this piece as a freshman in college. It brings back feelings... frustration of not yet being able to create the sound I wanted. It is such a magical piece and I think this is one of your finest recordings yet.
They say that "looks may deceive you", but in this case, it's "the beginnings of a piece may deceive you"... or rather.... "the beginning of Mendelssohn's rondo capriccioso will *definitely* deceive you"
Ah, Mendelssohn! Always seems to have great melodies and harmonies, and isn't as difficult to play as some other composers. All of the Songs Without Words are some of my favorite pieces of his.
@@trebleclef9844He's right. Playing the notes isn't difficult. Now playing them with musicality is extremely hard and requires a lot of practice, especially for the part at 3:07 and 3:46
@@abyssalchaos7254 musicality and speed is a huge factor of difficulty, according to your logic, that would mean moonlight sonata 3rd mvt is extremely easy as speed is not a factor of difficulty
@@trebleclef9844 once you have practiced and played everything slowly, you can easely do it a bit faster. Speed obviously makes it harder, but the hardest part remains to be able to play it well slowly.
He composed this at age fifteen why dont we have so many popular younger people these days that arent actors or social media influencers but they had a ton during these times?
Because society and interests of the people have changed since that time Prodigies still exist but are far less represented in medias Surely though, there are less "prodigies" because music education is not quite as prestigious anymore
The memories are coming back to me: 6 minutes of absolute terror to play especially as a 7 yr when I learned it, but it does still sound very nice to listen to. Good job Traum :)
Also, as you requested Traum, I am uploading prelude in c sharp minor :P It was a dry run, so it wasn't too good but what could expect in 3.5 hours of practice ;)
@Brandon Leyba yea Sure Thanks!! :D the problem is I cant really really make a tutorial but I can tell u how I do it I use noteblock studio sometimes then Finnish it off from that and I also have an alt tab open for the sheet music or videos (I use a mod that makes notes from other blocks all turn into the piano) and that's kinda really it lol
I am sitting outside I the evening the skies fixed with stars, the sound of a piano fills the air, time is suspended, hung in mid air, I sit a table somewhere sipping wine the breeze gently blows my hair strands fall gently across my eyes as the music swells, the joyousness of what I am hearing floats through the moon sighs..and echoes as the last notes of music sound. Time is suspended
Why do I feel like Traum was the person people tried to sit next to during tests to cheat off of but he got done before they could write their name. Also any Rachmaninoff plans?
I am learning this piece quite a while now and hopefully I will be able to perform in two weeks. It is very interesting to hear all this different interpretations . Beautiful !
I am supposing Mendelssohn inspired or taught Chopin In some parts, it sounds very like Chopin's style But it also seems like Mendelssohn could've also inspired Franz Liszt. It's just very interesting-

Mendelssohn is such a underrated composer
True tho
He's pretty useless and irrelevant though

Check out both of his piano concertos, the first one is my favourite just the intro is enough to get you interested into it
I played his mosquito dance thing once on violin and i hated it so much but now i actually like his music just after hearing his violin concerto lol
Try Hunting Song if you want more solo piano stuff by Mendelssohn.
Whats with Wedding March... :,)
It's kind of like Pachelbel. "Wait, canon in d is not his only piece?". Lol, actually heard this one in real life in band camp.
Such a wonderful piece! I love the part at 2:25 where it goes calm to "playful"
You are right ;)
It was actually the original start of the song, Mendelssohn later added the calm part!
