- Unzip the download file and launch the installer

I still have and use my GameCube keyboard controller. While Phantasy Star Online has been shut down for ages it still works like a charm. Once you get used to the width it's a solid controller.
That umbilical cord charger must be the weirdest, not to mention creepiest piece of art I have seen in my life. More than an umbilical cord, it reminds me of some alien species out of a horror movie, wriggling around in search of a victim to burrow itself into.

The gamecube keyboard controller was made for PhantasyStar back in the days :) first MMORPG that hit consoles, so people could still chat in the game .

The Philips CD-i story is actually a little weirder than what you described. Nintendo originally went with Sony to manufacture the CD add on. Nintendo then turned around and decided to go with Philips after the deal was already stuck. Then they threw the whole thing away but Philips got the consolation prize of using Mario and Zelda in a few games. Sony, burned by this, turned their efforts into the PlayStation.
