@@grmacs95 he'll pay skubal. chris illitch really hasnt had anyone major to pay the last 10 years if we being honest. skubal is the best homegrown player to come thru detroit since justin verlander this is a little different than not wanting to pay jeimer candelario
Jobe is absolutely amazing. Definitive number one starter. The only concern is durability. He has a great body but there is definitely some injury concerns. He could disspell that this year by staying healthy for 90% of the season.
I like Mcgonigle hitting mechanics better than Clark, has more momentum in swing than Clark who uses weight transfer more like Carrol who you used as comp. Tho Clark may alter that who knows.
I figure by 2026 baez will be released and these minor league infielders brought up and continue good drafting for playoff baseball for yrs to come. Bringing in overvalued position players should not be but Bringing in more pitching will win champ flags.!
Cant wait to see these guys start to take off then end up in NY or LA cause we cant afford to pay player $200M. Baseball is a broken compensation system for anyone not in a major market!
@@stevencook4002 The Ilitch's are filthy rich. They can afford it, but like he said Chris chooses not to spend. They made playoffs in spite of the him last year. Mr. I was #86 on the Forbes 400 around the time of his death. Both Chris and Marian Ilitch are worth about $4B each right now. Granted Marian supposedly only deals with the casino and other properties but still. They have plenty to shell out for quality players but don't. Skubal will walk once his contract is up if he isn't traded before.
Chris illitch is worth $2.1 billion. Do you expect him to give 1/3 of his net worth to a player like ohtani or Soto? The current system isn't sustainable. It's the dodgers yankees Mets and everyone else. They have ruined the sport.
Detroit fans have had it rough, but if the Tigers' 2025 season matches the Lions' 2024 season, that's a reason to be pretty happy about the state of the two teams...A Tigers season like the Lions' regular season would mean Detroit wins 100+ games this year.
The max effort philosophy has shown to be a prescription for TJ surgery. Just waiting for them to blow out their arms. Basing your rebuild on pitching is nuts.
Kids are actively seeking TJ before they even completely tear their UCLs, just to have it done pre-draft/college so teams worry about it less. 14-16 year old kids. Unfortunately, the difference between throwing 95 and 99 is probably like $200m career earnings, so they're incentivized to do so. As far as the rebuild goes, mid level veteran pitchers are demanding $15m+ in free agency. Illitch is completely uninterested in spending any money whatsoever on this franchise, so trying to draft SPs for the future makes more sense in that regard.
Not impressed by Clark or McGonigle. Both are small, no power. Very few hits. I saw them several times at Grand Rapids. They have bad results with runners in scoring position. I saw nothing from either one of them. Hamm never hit 90 on the radar gun, only lasted 3 or 4 innings walked the bases full. I don’t think he struck out anyone.
Interesting perspective. With Clark it’s all about his social media followers and his tats. Yeah he’s a little guy too let’s see if he can hit AAA pitching much less in the Show.
@@raymaccioni1606 Max Clark is more of a speed guy with extra base power (double, triples) not necessarily a home run threat. He's got enough power to hit 20 homers a year at the major league level but he's still extremely young and it takes young players time to develop that consistency to drive the ball for homers. One thing to keep in mind too at the minor league level the players are not just trying to put up numbers they are constantly being told what their weaknesses are and how to make changes to batting stance etc. to eliminate those weaknesses. You only saw a small sample size at West Michigan and you are also seeing constant adjustments made at that level to make them better players so they eliminate their weaknesses to prepare them for the major league level.
The Tigers will slow roll the young talent to the bigs as a means to control and pay them as little as possible, and also to replenish when Skubal seeks a $400M contract and they let him walk.
After Torkelson, I don't believe in any Tiger "prospects". He was a can't miss number one overall phenom who has been a huge bust. What makes these guys anything special? Let me know when the Tigers start winning some ballgames that count.
I learned in the 90s after Matt Anderson that promoting these top draft picks that don’t perform will break a lot of hearts especially players out of high school that have high failure rates. Derek Hill was a big prospect that tigers media announcers would glorify as the future can’t miss prospect that all the scouts loved.
Awesome breakdown!!! You've got me excited about the Tigers future!~
Go Tigers!!!!!
They didn’t even mention guys like Thayron Liranzo and Hao Yu-Lee. Liranzo isn’t expected to debut this year but you never know. Hao is though.
I’m excited about the next tier of guys like Hao Yu-Lee and Thayron Liranzo too.
And Josue Briceno, the Arizona Fall League triple crown winner.
Great content guys, thank you.
Skubal, Jobe, Olson will be a nasty trio
Until 2027 when Skubal signs elsewhere
@ it sounds like you want him gone

I’m hoping Clark is perfect to lead the league in triples at Comerica Park. Super excited about Liranzo.
Supposedly we are in on Cris Rodriguez and international prospect. 6-4 200 16 years old. Rated 4th best prospect. Rightielder.

2026? They need to buy him out now, he should never play another game in MLB. Literally the worst player in MLB statistically.
Max Clark called Kevin McGonigle the best hitter in their draft class🔥

Tigers will have a dynamite out field once Clark makes it
2025: Jobe, Jung, Dingler
2026: Clark, Lee, Liranzo
2027: McGonigle, Hamm, 25’ 1st
2028: Rainer, Briceno, 26’ 1st
Please spend some money these next two off-seasons.
