Hi mate, Selattyn Tower was actually further on in that little forest of trees. If you had continued across the field with the sign, hugging the tree line you would have come to another gate. Through the gate, into the woods following one of two paths, one straight on or one forking right. 5 minute walk and you’d have found the Tower. The right hand fork path has an information board as I remember and there’s a bench with decent views. It is only small, maybe 10 foot tall but the views up there across the Shropshire plain are great. I lived in a little Hamlet about 11km from there (Pant Glas) so me and my loyal pooch Alf have walked up there to the tower before. Nice to see some of the Dyke I’ve walked coming into the videos. Cheers
Ahh, I did wonder if I was right given the lack of information there. Shame the sign didn’t give more of an indication on how far you had to walk to get there. “A short walk” doesn’t give much away 🤷🏻♂️😂 I did spot there was a trig in the trees and nearly popped to that, if I had I may have come across the tower, but as I didn’t see an obvious entrance to it from where I was stood, I decided against it. Oh well, if I’m ever in the area again, I’ll be sure to find it. Thanks for letting me know.
@@pipes-hikes No worries. We had difficulty finding it to be honest and were following the OS map. It looked to be in the middle of the trees near the sign you filmed until we realised you had to lift the sign up. It didn’t have a string attached then. The Tower is underwhelming to be fair, more like a small square room. Enjoying the videos, thanks for doing them.
An excellent watch
