When you have a strong support system with diabetes, you can't overlook it. In this episode, I talk to my best friend, Katie Moreno. She knew me before my diabetes diagnosis, during some of the roughest periods of that transition, and has some great advice for those who love someone with diabetes. Hi! I was diagnosed this past April. Mila’s glucose guide app is a great place to meet other diabetics who are friendly, honest and still living their best life.
Always lovelovelove getting to chat with my bestie!!! ❤❤❤
This is such a great video! I am glad your friend knew you for years and can attest that diabetes can strike ANYONE. This world needs more education about diabetes to take away these dumb stigmas!
I agree! I’m so lucky to have a best friend who gets it and supports me in the kindest ways. 🫶🏾
So refreshing to watch your relationship and kudos to your bestie for caring about your condition and really understanding how hard it is to manage 😢❤
Thank you! I’m really lucky 💕

Hey Diabestie! Just wanted to say I enjoy your videos! I was diagnosed with Type 2 at the end of May of this year. Was not feeling good so I went to see my doctor ... he put me in the hospital that afternoon with a Glucose count of 651. The last couple of years I was borderline Diabetic. Anyways.. since July I have lost 50.. yes 50!... pounds. And by the grace of God, my wife and watching youtube videos much like yours, I am no longer taking Insulin, but take Trulicity once a week, taking Metformin twice a day... and exercising (walking mostly) and the proper diet... I have this disease under control. People.. learn to eat... just because it's on your plate does not mean you have to eat it! I am a "Peeps" addict, but have not touched one since diagnosed. Sugar? nope.. not needed. Thank you for sharing hope with others! WE GOT THIS!!!! Oh.. and using the Dexcom7... so no daily finger pricks!
I’m both so happy for you and so proud of you at the same time! It isn’t easy making the laundry list of changes. Fantastic job my friend
Hi i'm marie watson from Edinburgh, Scotland i too was diagnosed with type 2 diabetic almost 7 year next january
I thought type 1 diabetics weren't supposed to take GLP-1 medicine.
It depends on the person. It can be used off-label.
My doctor has kept an eye on me for symptoms of pancreatitis. Since I still produce - low amount of insulin as a type 1.5, I’ve got some leeway.
@TheHangryWoman OK, great. I enjoy your videos.
