It’s just that DK is far far more optimal. Nothing wrong with DL first. UD heroes are strongest by far, especially leading armies built around a healing/sniping DK

Dreadlord opener is super strong but situational. You open up with a lot of ghouls and choose whether you want map control with vampiric aura farming and can do really easy hero surrounds with sleep or deal with mass t1 with carrion swarm. The main problem is that you don't have any other means of dealing with hero fights if you don't make a solid surround. However, if you are a god at micro then i believe it's a solid strat to go ghouls + gargs since you cover up both ground and air. If enemy goes taurens or knights or abos you can always make that 1 wyrm that can easily deal with those heavy units and still cover your other units with mass ghouls and gargs. Did i also mention how insane vampiric + frenzy + statue is with mass ghouls? UD is just so flexible but really hard to micro since most of their caster units require you to manual cast the important spells (frenzy + anti magic shell) and those are also really good with Abos and even gargs
That Dreadlord focus was beautiful, and so unpredictable. All he did was walk into a stasis trap and instantly Grubby wind walks, chain cc into the Stomp, 300 dmg crit, Dreadlord can't even use invul or tp.

I remember precisely seeing you at the time doing that strat. I found it amazing and tried it exactly against my undead friend who kept beating me, and it worked ! all units cover eachother neatly

@@saimyintmyat9373 Why? 90% of the Orc players can't keep their blade alive. Even Grubby lost his blade to bad positioning once this game. It's easy to nuke blade if he's all damage items.
Grubby, I think the +3 agility may be more useful than the claw +4. You are also getting attack speed and armor, and losing only 1 damage. Talking about 11:19 when you dropped the slipper for the +8 claw but keep the +4 claw as well.
I kind of wish we could see the replay. I was wondering did the Undeads macro slip up in the big battle at Grubby's first expo and also there was a point where Grubby ran into the undead on the map on the undead only had 5 ghouls around 11:54 secs so I assumed he lost a ton of units to a creep camp. Such a great game though!
lol the Crypt Lord was so perma-stunned in that last fight, that he didn't start using *IMPALE* until the fight was already decided in favor of Grubby... The UD player was just too busy being perma-stunned and taking protective measures *to save his DL !!* that he could barely even cast his spells !! :O Stomp + Crit + Stasis IMBA !! :O
Sleep spam seems so frustrating to play against because of all the micro you need to do to stop your units from sleeping. I remember this from the human campaign's last mission when playing against Mal'Ganis :)

Id be cool to get a pig type guide from grubby. Wjere in sc2 the maps roll out sonquick you basically skip map guides. On warcraft 2 map knowledge is crucial. In war3 maps seem to be equal in value as the races or matchups. Also i forget why but i wanted to edit hotkey for controls but Only found unit hotkey

What about combining this strategy with Mirror Image? Then Dread Lord users would have to waste time trying to figure out which Blademaster to Sleep, and with Mirror Image scouting, you could delay getting Witch Doctors for a bit..
Undeads doing well is of course undisputable (at least Happy and 120), but I don't quite see what big buffs they have gotten? Grubby undoubtedly knows more about wc3 than me, but I have been trying to go through the patch notes already before and I didn't find any patch notes where UD got gargantuan buffs at least compared to other races. Human, who was been doing quite weakly in pro games, has in my view actually been buffed a lot especially vs UD. The main kit of UD (DK, Lich, destroyers, statues, fiends, orb, skeletal rod) according to my research has either stayed the same or been slightly nerfed. Lich got the movement speed but so did many other heroes. Some other things outside the main kit have received buffs. But then again other races have been receiving a lot of buffs as well. Only orc I feel is in a weird place at the moment. Orcs got some buffs, but I think Blademaster has been hit quite heavily with critical strike nerf a few years back and item nerfs / changes. Orc has been heavily reliant on Blademaster and the hero itself has been reliant on items and crit. Also moving spirit walkers to tauren totem was in my opinion a nerf. Headhunters got buffed but that's about it. I think the UD power has also something to do with the meta. When Happy started making comeback, it felt like the meta shifted from macrogames to more micro intensive fighting and quick matches. Straight on fights is where UD excels (at leat with good micro). UD is weaker at macrogame.
What a great game, when they got Infernal it looked pretty bleak but Bladestorm (+ Reincarnation) managed to win it back. We're they really still on cooldown in the last fight?
can someone please explain to me what made undead weak before the buffs (and if they're still weak after the buffs)? I really thought not that they weren't weak but that they were the strongest
I'm no expert but: -They had trouble expanding (the cost of the Necropolis and Haunted gold mine has been reduced since 2018). -They were also super dependent of the Death Knight for early healing (Ritual Dagger has been added to the shop in 2019, then buffed in 2020 and 2021). -Harassing gold Acolytes is super annoying for the Undead because they cannot just assign lumber workers to the gold mine (like other races do), as they use 2 different units for these tasks (the Acolyte's movement speed, health, regeneration and armor have been increased since 2018). It's difficult to determine whether any race is weak or strong given that the WC3 playerbase is really small, but most would say UD is quite strong right now. UD seems really strong when you look at players like Happy and 120. But it's also pretty common for UD to have low representation (e.g. the Americas are filled with Night Elves).
Most of the problem came from their ability to expand. Acolytes are very vulnerable, their towers wasn't as good, and setting up expansion used to take a long time

i feel like Grub was over confident in that first expo defence. Could have had much less loss if he kited instead of a head on collision and yeah that L1 shockwave mistake lol... Still tenacity and superior micro won the day!

awesome game. i think with this strat, vs dreadlord blademaster is best reskilled to windwalk? man that sleep is super annoying. very low cooldown and the mana cost is nothing. i think increasing cooldown by 0.5s would be appopriately imo, to see how it fairs. or take away the invul part of it. some mechanic about sleep needs adjusting imo.

Sleep spam seems pretty strong. Causes opponent to spend all his micro to canceling it. Really reduces the dps of enemy too.

Happy does massive hero focus , the strategy doesn’t work on him unless you come up with something to save hero from 2-3 nukes each fight.

DL as 1st only has 2 results: you crush him easily from the start to finish or he'll be unstoppable

I think yes, zeppelin can counter his sleep with quick loading and deploying or Zeppelin warstomp combo strat.

Aboms have no relevant dps and are slow as heck. Especially when you are faced with statis traps.
