Prions in real life are mainly spread through eating food and come with a variety of psychological disabilities. Some say that Alzheimer's is even a prion naturally occurring in the human body. What would be interesting to me is if the mod stayed away from being an S&R clone with flesh monsters and instead focused on gradually making mobs in the world crazy while making the player scared just to eat until everything dies out. If it makes no difference to you, I want to see mobs cannibalize eachother until the infection leaves them lying on the ground struggling to breath for days on end.

I really love this, the entire "infection mod" category has gotten really stale in my opinion, so seeing something that leans heavy on the more horror aspect like with SCRP is exciting!
For anyone wondering what prion is. In short. It's a mutated protein that can make more of itself and is very hard to destroy by any means. For more info go to google as I'm nothing more then Plague Inc player in the aspect of knowledge XD
He's right. A prion is a misfolded protein. The central dogma is DNA is transcribed into RNA, RNA is translated into protein and protein is then replicated into DNA. Everyone is capable of producing prions. The reason we don't is because the genetic process is so strict during transcription that a misfolded protein is usually destroyed and discarded before it can be replicated. However, there are diseases that interfere with the body's ability to recognize a misfolded protein and that's how a prion is replicated.
yup, it’s also capable of “telling” other normal proteins to misfold themselves and spread through the body. they usually occur in the brain and are almost always lethal in that regard
looks awesome! i like the idea that infected animals look like they have chronic wasting disease, which is also caused by a prion. i also appreciate that you dont need to spend 20 magazines headshotting an infected npc in order to kill it.
Lets just hope the balance in this mod makes it actually playable by itself in vanilla. the one Common problem that plagues infection mods, is balancing either enemies, or the biome they end up creating. sometimes mobs spawn WAY to much and lag you to death, other times the biome spreads FAR to quickly for you to do anything about, not to mention the damage these mobs would do to you in full prot 4 netherite armour. if this mod is one where installing it isn't just a ticking time bomb waiting to destroy your world, and you can ACTULY fight back, and maintain a level of "normalcy" then this looks like it would be fun to try out.
*cough*SRP*cough*. I hope this mod has a option to choose your difficulty (something SRP should have), so that you'll be able to play with guns or melee weapons and have it stay balanced. I think SRP is pretty balanced. It's not meant to be played with melee weapon mods. It's fun to be able to use guns and not be super OP.

If this is truly your work, then I'd love to see this mod grow- as in, a whole sh*t tone of enemy variants. Cause so far the only mod with like this with a lot of enemy variants is the Scape and Run: Parasites. While others like Fungal infection, Wither, and Skulk Invasion have limited varients.
i think i know why there isnt anyone that made a video about this mod yet. because its not too crazy like the spores or flesh that hates. those get too powerful, to quick. this ones more calm i would say, more grounded and that is exactly why i like it so much!
I'd like to see that if players are infected it's hard to get rid of the effect as prions are very hard to destroy without causing massive harm to the treated person. You could make it so you need a potion or a medicine that once you take it takes care of infection but gives you massive debuff for some time before returning. Hello, I have some ideas for your fashions. apparently the infection was born from nuclear war. Well I suggest to you that where the first monsters and infected are born since nuclear fallout. Let me explain. We would have to make structures (like destroyed villages) where there is radioactive waste (represented as a potion effect). Any mob passing by will become sick and there would be a 50% chance that it will die, and a 50% chance that it will become an infected mob which will then evolve.

hey i wanted to get back on this haha, just to let you know i remodeled the vile entity and lacerator (the ones that used to look like buglin), dont worry it looks a lot different now, honestly i didnt even realise how similar those looked to srp i tried to copy silverfish haha
@Matthew-ib5qq don't get me wrong. Lost cities is cool and a old reliable. But its incredibly old, and it hasn't aged well. (I've known it for god knows how many years.)
I got a few ideas you could add : an evolution system like if you kill a parasite with fire it augments by 1% the chance of a parasite spawning with fire armor and the same thing with ranged weapons.
It would be neat to see it learn to emotionally affect players for the upper hand, like it takes over player made structures and forms nests with some of those structures inside of them (same thing for pets too?)
@magicznynikttv7455 maybe with enough nukes. But fear and the wave attack do insane dmg. The paracites shred through even awakened draconic armor. I love a good challenge, but i hate to avoid the later stages, i want to be able to fight back at those stages myself.

It requires multiple netherstars, diamonds, dragon hearts (get from enderdragon kills).With it you can survive anything as long it doesnt have extreme chip like the paracites. The only armor i know that surpases it is the avaita god amor which is basically extreme late game
The only thing that this should be properly balanced that isn't too nuisance in early game Which scape and run fails to do literally the infected adapts to your weapon to do less damaged from it. Its so BS I hope this one doesn't have that crappy mechanics and not going on the same direction

try making zombies like whit walkers from GoF and the white king make it soo monsters arent too op but they are threat in numbers and as they evolve more there are more of them like 1000

if you decide to add a creeper variant it could function as a basic carrier or a way for infected to get through walls or get out of a pit due to an explosion if it knows where the player is but can't make a path it blows up preventing pits or death pits

Suggestion: What ever caused this should be its downfall, as you should be able to make nuclear bombs, however, make the process extremely long and complicated, however not too hard. Note: If you add flamethrowers, you should add the apility to melt down radioactive elements and be able to use them in like a chemical thrower, except you need a specific upgrade in order to allow the tank of the thrower to hold it.
Will it be able to "fuse" with others infections mods ? And can it also infect plants like grass and trees ? Like plants also have proteins, so they can technicly get prions Oh... it does seem to convert grass but I don't see if it concert grass into "mutated" grass or just remplace it with flesh

both local, and global. the local infection sites contain MUCH MUCH stronger infected
