    Perfectly done! I'm on the fence about waiting for a gently used Tow N' Go vs stock RT. This was extremely helpful. The SRT exhaust does sound better (of course) but I'm mostly interested in how the stock RT exhaust sounds under hard acceleration. I'm relieved to know, now, that it sounds just fine. The soft acceleration to 25mph seemed the most telling, to me. I think that SRT note might get a bit old running errands around town...or, it would make it irresistible to NOT continuously stomp on the gas! Again, great job on this video. Thanks for the time/effort in making it.

      Thanks for the kind words. R/T is definitely on the aggressive side for an oem exhaust when on full throttle but still tame most of the time. The SRT exhaust is quite aggressive most of the time and downright silly when going full throttle. If you like it you’ll get used to it! But it’s not for everyone to be fair. I think your assessment is spot on.

    Hallelujah, precisely the video that I needed. I have a 2018 SXT and want to upgrade to the 2021 RT but was very worried about the pronounced growl you get with the tow and go package. Sometimes I just sit in my car working on my laptop or chill out after taking my boat out of the water and don't necessarily want the constant growl of a louder muffler. Now that I know just how loud the growl is I'm even more worried. I would get the 2021 RT without the tow and go package for a less pronounced exhaust growl. Or just keep the v6 I currently have.

    I have been looking for vehicle with good towing characteristics. That pushed me to a pickup in my price range. I would prefer an SUV. Seemed all worthy SUV’s with decent tow ratings are to expensive. New that is still true. I was convinced the the 2023 Colorado would work but not a family vehicle. Then I revisited the Durango. Now I am thinking a used Durango R/T. 2021 or 2022. Probably next spring or summer. It would be a poor mans dream vehicle with the Tow N’ Go. I could not find a single one used. That would be awesome. I have looked at the Durango’s in between my last and current vehicle. With the tow rating it is the top contender.

    Too good - I'm actually shopping this exact car but in silver with the Blacktop package. Love the sound of the performance exhaust! However, have you been able to go on the interstate say around 75-80mph yet? Any drone or loud noise at those constant higher speeds? Thanks brother!

      Yes I've been at highway cruising speeds. A little louder then a normal R/T but really not too much more if your just cruising steady state in 8th gear. Nothing I would consider annoying drone at all. If you put your foot down to pass someone its certainly louder. Go test drive one, see for yourself would be my suggestion.

      I don’t think it helps much with exhaust noise no. I do notice it helps a lot with general “boominess” in the cabin though. Old r/t would get kinda “boomy” inside under kinda rough pavement when slowing down or coasting. Not sure else to describe it other then uncomfortable /annoying noise feeling. This one, that issue is virtually gone. It does not quiet down the exhaust noise under acceleration though.

At cruising speed there is no difference (retuned SRT noise cancellation helps) between our 2018 Rt and the new 2021 T ‘n G. Frankly, she’s more impressed with the ride (bilstein adaptive shocks, 295/45’s, electronic slip/mode selection) here in Co. Especially snow and tow modes...absolutely no hesitation, where as reliable the 2018 rt was, you could feel the rear wheel bias take a moment to engage front axle (think start from a dead stop in traffic on snow/ice heading up the IKE). She’s called out the “sure foot” feeling of the tow ‘n go -really appreciates it. Finally, icing on cake is 10.1 w/UConn 5-WiFi, wireless car play, etc-she’s listening to that while I’m enjoying a v8 exhaust note that doesn’t sound like another unicorn 🦄 farting eco/turbo/volt/green lettuce model. Whats the difference of the suspension on the tow n go from the rt? I might not find a tow n go when i get my 2021 but might upgrade the suspension later on.

    • @therivierarecord2596
      @therivierarecord2596  3 года назад +1

      As far as I can tell it’s the entire srt suspension. So different shocks and spring rates then more adjustments happen with the shock settings for sport and then track settings vs the sport setting on regular R/T. Makes the truck feel noticeably more sporty when driving vs the regular R/T, but the regular R/T suspension is well suited and comfortable to begin with for sure.

    Congrats on your new RT. I picked up mine about a month ago, but not the TNG package. I was considering doing the Mid muffler delete just to enhance the sound a bit as I don't want it too crazy or obnoxious. Your 2021 sounds great as an everyday driver do you think the sound would get to you? and do you think a mid-muffler delete would be a good idea on a new car or just stick with the factory. Enjoy the RT

      Its not too loud for me, but its certainly noticeably more noise then normal R/T. If it was a buzzy 4 cyl turbo I would hate it. But the 5.7 sounds good! My wife likes it too, but admitted it was a little louder then she thought it might be.
      Not too sure about a mid muffler delete. Never heard one in person. My brother in law has an R/T he put the Blastin Bob's kit on...www.blastinbob.com/category_s/64.htm which also sounds great.

The exhaust sounds great in person. Borderline obnoxious cold start if I’m being honest but not too loud the neighbors would complain.
