Perfectly done! I'm on the fence about waiting for a gently used Tow N' Go vs stock RT. This was extremely helpful. The SRT exhaust does sound better (of course) but I'm mostly interested in how the stock RT exhaust sounds under hard acceleration. I'm relieved to know, now, that it sounds just fine. The soft acceleration to 25mph seemed the most telling, to me. I think that SRT note might get a bit old running errands around town...or, it would make it irresistible to NOT continuously stomp on the gas! Again, great job on this video. Thanks for the time/effort in making it.
Thanks for the kind words. R/T is definitely on the aggressive side for an oem exhaust when on full throttle but still tame most of the time. The SRT exhaust is quite aggressive most of the time and downright silly when going full throttle. If you like it you’ll get used to it! But it’s not for everyone to be fair. I think your assessment is spot on.

Hello. Which one is more comfortable on not good roads? (if you have them at all)))) Are they have differences in transmission same as Quadra Track or Quadra Drive on Grand Cherokee?
R/T without the Tow N' Go is a softer ride for sure. Tow N' Go in standard setting is similar but a little more sporty and firm. Set to sport or track it is noticeably more sporting in nature and firm. I I think all those models use the 8 speed ZF which is great. The 4WD/AWD systems are different though.
But there was no mention whatsoever about TOWING - just guessing that folks buy the tow & go package for a reason - not to somehow enhance their daily driving experience.
I don’t think it helps much with exhaust noise no. I do notice it helps a lot with general “boominess” in the cabin though. Old r/t would get kinda “boomy” inside under kinda rough pavement when slowing down or coasting. Not sure else to describe it other then uncomfortable /annoying noise feeling. This one, that issue is virtually gone. It does not quiet down the exhaust noise under acceleration though.
Not an active exhaust, no. I wouldn’t call it quiet at all really, but reasonable and not a distraction or problem when cruising. Can get a little loud during low gear common stop and go accelerating everyday driving, but never a bad sound. Very loud and noticeable (good) when stomping on it.

Drive them both! This was difficult to find for me. Not many dealers around me had much on the lots at all except for V6 GTs. Was fortunate to finally find one on the lot. SRT would be amazing but not in the cards for me.
Whats the difference of the suspension on the tow n go from the rt? I might not find a tow n go when i get my 2021 but might upgrade the suspension later on.
As far as I can tell it’s the entire srt suspension. So different shocks and spring rates then more adjustments happen with the shock settings for sport and then track settings vs the sport setting on regular R/T. Makes the truck feel noticeably more sporty when driving vs the regular R/T, but the regular R/T suspension is well suited and comfortable to begin with for sure.
I'm confused now. I like everything on that tow and go except the exhaust. I like how the borla s type sounds but i want the brakes and suspension. Lol
I just test drove this exact same car. I got on on the highway and it was so freaking loud in acceleration. Not like a smooth rumble, but an abnoxious popping kind of sound.
Good question! I been meaning to do a side by side with a 2020 duragno with the HID's. The LED's seem fine for sure, but the cutoff line is a little softer I think then the old HID projectors, which I kinda liked more I think.
Congrats on your new RT. I picked up mine about a month ago, but not the TNG package. I was considering doing the Mid muffler delete just to enhance the sound a bit as I don't want it too crazy or obnoxious. Your 2021 sounds great as an everyday driver do you think the sound would get to you? and do you think a mid-muffler delete would be a good idea on a new car or just stick with the factory. Enjoy the RT
Its not too loud for me, but its certainly noticeably more noise then normal R/T. If it was a buzzy 4 cyl turbo I would hate it. But the 5.7 sounds good! My wife likes it too, but admitted it was a little louder then she thought it might be. Not too sure about a mid muffler delete. Never heard one in person. @@sebyz765 same exhaust yes. Just a 5.7 instead of 6.4 V8 powering it. I’ve never driven in the SRT Durango, but I started one at the dealer and sat in it. Side by side it sounds virtually identical. SRT probably gets a little louder at full tilt. The exhaust sounds great in person. Borderline obnoxious cold start if I’m being honest but not too loud the neighbors would complain. Kinda loud but nice sounding at most acceleration levels inside the cabin. Not bad at all if you like hearing exhaust note. Barely noticeable at highway cruising in 8th gear. I think it’s perfect really.
I have not driven the SRT myself. Afraid I would have bought it if I drove it and don’t need that higher payment! I imagine they drive very similarly and sound very similar until you put the pedal all the way to the floor.
If your're not going for the TnG package on the 2021, I'd say 2020 is the better buy if your looking to save some $$. I was close to buying out the lease end on the 2018 I had. New styling and option list swayed me though.

@@donkeller6399 thanks Don! We picked it up Wednesday and she LOVES it. I'm kinda jealous. 😆
Been debating this tow n go or the srt 😩😩... lease is up at the end of this month .. I got some time to analyze.
Drive them both! This was difficult to find for me. Not many dealers around me had much on the lots at all except for V6 GTs. Was fortunate to finally find one on the lot. SRT would be amazing but not in the cards for me.
I’ve noticed that most videos I see of the tow n go package doesn’t include the black rims, is that not an option with the tow n go ?
It is an option for t n g as well. The blackout package they call it. Gets the black badges and wheels.
@@therivierarecord2596 thanks for the reply ! Sick car
@@therivierarecord2596 does the tow n go sit any lower or same height as rt?
@@boliviamericano pretty sure it’s the same height.
Definitely not for everyone. I like it. In 8th gear cruising on highways it’s virtually quiet as can be.
Is there much difference with the new headlights at night?
Good question! I been meaning to do a side by side with a 2020 duragno with the HID's. The LED's seem fine for sure, but the cutoff line is a little softer I think then the old HID projectors, which I kinda liked more I think.
Can’t wait to get mine ass in one!
Can you do a fly by next time
What is the difference in the towing capacity?
Something Like 7,200 vs 8,700 for TnG package.
Thought you was Zach Ertz from the Eagles
Ha! I’ve got that before, especially with a fresh haircut.
Tell me please.
How much did it cost you?
Sale price around $55k after discounts
@@therivierarecord2596 this place including Tow and Go package?
@@rus4633 yup
I'm thinking about trading in my 2016 Suburban for a Durango, I don't need something as massive as a Suburban
Why both cars have different Infotainment Units though being from same model year?
One is a 2018 in the video. The other is 2021
Tow and go is the better option
My brother in law has an R/T he put the Blastin Bob's kit on...www.blastinbob.com/category_s/64.htm which also sounds great.
was this in sport (18") and Track (21') modes?
Nope. Just the standard mode that defaults when the car is started.
@@therivierarecord2596 i just ordered mine this week. I haven't seen anyone on YT with detail on track mode! Very curious. None of the dealers by me have on in stock to even test drive.
@@charlesemerson6545 track mode is a bouncy ride unless pavement is perfect, but shifts are much faster.
@@therivierarecord2596 I figured as much with the adaptive suspension, I'm curious in the 0 to.60 times if any difference
Are you going to add a cold air intake ?
Thinking about it, yes! Do you have one?
Yes '...But waiting on my tow and go to arrive...ordered it 8 weeks ago....so I can put it on
Deff not a fan of the SRT rims. I have a 2020 Durango RT blackTop package and honestly love those rims more
I actually like the standard silver rims better against the Destroyer Grey color of my ‘22 R/T. Nice contrast!
Hows handling?
Very very good for an suv of this size and weight. Stuff suspension though. May not be for everyone
@therivierarecord2596 i have base rt and came from stiff scatpack charger so i miss it.
SUPER SUV
BEAST AS IT IS MEANT TO BE.
YET FUN TO DRIVE TOO , I RECON.
UNIQIE COMBO OF UTILITY AND MUSCLE
MIGHT GET IT TOO.
TO SEE OUR NEIGHBORS ' REACTIONS......
Might as well get the SRT. The way it`s spec`d, the Tow and Go runs at around 57K. The SRT is about 62K.
Yes they do get close but with
Similar other options, the srt price bumps up too.
Have you priced an SRT lately? I spec’d a base SRT with no options and the out the door price was $81K!!! The Plus and Premium models are $85K and up!!!
Why would anybody buy a Durango these days. That dinosaur needs to go extinct. @@cliffklimas8324
So that 2021 is just the stock tow n go exhaust?
Yep!
@@therivierarecord2596 Wow! So is that the actual srt exhaust? And What would you rate the sound, compared to an srt or something of that nature, does it compare?
@@therivierarecord2596 Thanks For The Help! I can't wait for more videos, I don't have anymore 2021 R/T videos to watch lol.
@@sebyz765 got a few more ideas coming! Thanks.
You wanna donate one to a good cause I want one so bad
What SRT?? I seen 2 RTs lol
Says right in the title my friend, R/T exhaust comparison!
100% worth the extra $ 6000.
Man I’m torn between the RT w/ TowNGo or the SRT. Any thoughts? Did you test drive them both and is there much of a difference? Anyone can elaborate.
I have not driven the SRT myself. Afraid I would have bought it if I drove it and don’t need that higher payment! I imagine they drive very similarly and sound very similar until you put the pedal all the way to the floor.
It worst the extra cash the 2021 or 2020 is fine
If your're not going for the TnG package on the 2021, I'd say 2020 is the better buy if your looking to save some $$. I was close to buying out the lease end on the 2018 I had. New styling and option list swayed me though.
thats not a 2021
lol. Yes it is
Little more growl. Nothing crazy
Great video
Thanks!
