Mike, first good luck. What is the length of the firewood poles? Next, this may be a crazy question but I know you have your reasons. Why buy the saw logs and firewood poles when you have your own. I know you must have a good reason I am sure. Im just wondering. Your videos are top notch, keep them coming. 👍👍💙

Morning Mike. Seeing Hunter smile from ear to ear, it changed my attitude. For some reason, I woke up feeling disgusted. Could not have been timed any better. Watching those log trucks deliver those logs reminds me of a log truck going off the road in front of my house. He was going up hill when he just went off the road onto the shoulder. He tried to correct, but the soft shoulder pulled him into the ditch and overturned onto the his right side. I ran out there to check on the driver and as I got up to the top of upper driveway and saw the truck on its side with logs 40 to 50 feet ahead of it and uphill. My heart sunk. Being a retired police officer, who worked in the traffic division for the last 11 years, I have seen my share of dead and mangled bodies. I ran over to the truck to find the driver hanging by his seatbelt. He was conscious and asked me to help him down. Thank God he was not injured. Outside of the truck being totaled, the driver and logs were not injured or damaged. So when I see those trucks, it brings back that memory. Really looking forward to see what you have plan on the retaining walls.
*Mike, can you do some blasting on the channel? As a new recruit on the first day, a sergeant walked down the line of us asking why we joined. When he got to me and asked, I answered, "Because I love weapons and stuff that explodes." He looked me in the eye and said, "You scare me Prowse." I said, "I doubt that, sergeant." That was the start of a lifelong friendship.*
Home run on the music to accompany the drone following the truck in your drive. Perfect choice and original. So nice you use music that is not used by every other RUclipsr.
Mike - I have to agree with Stephen Johnson's comment that Hunter's smile is very cool. He was one happy camper being with his Dad and getting out for a ride. Good looking piles of logs so you don't get into too much trouble with nothing to do (Ha - he has a daughter getting married. No time to get into trouble). Blessings to you and the family. Hi to Melissa, Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.
Hey Mike! “Livin the dream” is what I’ve always said when asked how’s it goin. While I could obviously take or leave different aspects of my life I say this based on the fact that I’m breathing, not broke and have folks that love and depend on me. That being said, you are TRULY doin it. As a long time follower, and as I’ve said already, I’m am so happy for you and your family!!
Mike, before even watching this, I have to say how happy I am for you to be able to drop the 8-4/9-5 job. Hopefully, you're well vested enough to stay "self-employed". I cannot wait to see what adventures you, Hunter and the whole family get into now. I'm only a few years younger and planning to retire this summer, so I can REALLY feel for you. Take care & God Bless!
You will work harder now than with the gas and oil job! It really isn't work if a person loves what they do. There's something about cutting firewood and lumber. Makes you appreciate our beautiful country. Thanks for the videos.
If some areas in the yard have future plans, but need to look really nice for the wedding. Just get a load or two of topsoil & spread lightly over areas. Plant lots of flowers & grass seed. Just keep the grass seed wet, until a week before the wedding. Make a beautiful yard ready for guests & great wedding party. Plant native flowers for pollinators to use blooms all seasons. Great way to help restore ecosystem.
So Mike, you said it will take time and work in order to buildup your wood business. I felt right after I started watching that yo don seem to shy away from work. I think you will do very good at your new endeavors. God bless.
Cool pics dumping the gravel from below the bucket Mike... like it... Hunter is definitely happy u r home every day... he your buddy! Have a good one. 🐶
There are few things as satisfying as watching someone who is really in tune with their equipment run it. That gent delivering wood to you has a real knack with that rig!
Harold, he drives truck, loads and unloads all day long. He should be good. Two joy sticks and a couple other valves for outriggers, depending on the set up.
Becky, he did do a nice job of unloading. Here in northern most Wisconsin, that type of work is a normality. I could see that his equipment was top notch and then therefore makes it and easier job. Hydraulics have really made many jobs a lot less work.
Hey Mike, its Frank from Dubois. Congrat on stepping away from the rat race. I'm sure you do well. i'm 68 and retired. It's the first time ever for me to ever do that and I have never done social media. Not a fan. I've done so because You and your family are real, genuine, salt of the earth family, and I think you are all great. Rex from Charlotte here, Mike, a smile from Hunter to start the video, great idea! He is happy with Dad at home and so am I! This video is great with super video angles!
It was great to see Hunter all smiles this morning! That was a great couple of loads of wood. Walnut is just beautiful wood, I don’t care what anyone says! 😀
You nailed the music transition when H-Man first came on screen. Great shots from the truck crane, too! Very happy for your retirement from the company and thrilled to hear what you have planned for the future. Good for you! Have a Day!
Mike, Love how you are jumping in Feet First and running with it. I hope, that this JOB is something you always love and rewards you and family well. Looking forward to the projects to come and I know you will succeed in what ever you do. Thanks for sharing.
Fire wood is always needed. It will be interesting to see how the lumber and slab cuts do given the high costs of lumber. Already looking forward to seeing you build the pavilion for the saw mill and wood storage. Hunters smile makes the day. Having dad around is something you can’t put a price on. Stay safe
That’s a great days work you and Hunter accomplished today! Loved the smiling answer from Hunter about having you home all the time ! He’s happy to have a running partner around more. So happy for both of you. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋

M Hack it if funny 🤣 that most viewers thing Motor Mike is the god of spreading lime stone. It just rolls out of the bucket by tapping the bucket roll. Ol Hunter could probably do as well if you promised him a ride to BK. With Mike being around more , we can only hope to see him working outside.
It's still not easy with new equipment. That Ford 8N with the manure bucket had a trip lever. All or nothing. Dumped all at once. I spent many an hour running one. Not saying how long ago that was, but it for sure wasn't in this century. LOL
Mike, I had the ford 961 Power Master with a trip bucket that I converted to hydraulic. It was easy to roll washed rock out of it evenly and then drop the bucket and back blade it. Now trying to spread over burden or wet clay, not even the expert operator could control it like that 2b limestone. Works great when it is dry and no binder.
Best video yet, and I've watched them all. I can already tell a difference in the variety of camera angles, cool shots from more perspectives, great content and editing, plus bonus of being with Hunter, who looks great. It's obvious that more time to focus on your first love is reaping big dividends, Mike. Excellent work.
Definitely a Chestnut Oak. They are in the white oak family. Just had 6 taken down this week. Logs are sitting in my driveway and I am assembling my new Granberg Chainsaw Mill today. Wish me luck...

Mike your mystery logs look like sweet gum. Sweet gum will be straighter grain where locust tends to twist. A maul will bounce off locust and barely leave a dent. Good for wood working in that new shop and turning blanks to sell. A lot of folk use them for turning bowls.

Watching that log crane is mesmerizing. I would have watched another 20 minutes.
I had the same experience with spreading the stone...
My log guy uses a triaxle dump with a loader like that. After a while I think "that's gotta be the last one"......and he keeps yanking out more!
