I still cannot get over Lavendertowne's artstyle. It's so simple yet it's unique and expressive, I love it so much
Me too 🎉😊
Honestly number one art inspiration for me!
SAMEEEEEEEE SHES MY IDOL I SWEAR
Same! Her art style is so unique and beautiful, it's very interesting!
I love unfamiliar
Blood is a very specific substance, it depends where the injury is, how fresh the wounds are, how much the character is bleeding. It's not a one fit all solution like "blood is read, so I will color it red" It would be bright red if it comes out of capillaries, but it gets darker as the blood vessel gets larger.
+ blood is pretty thick :))
Ngl, you guys are scaring me😨
Got my blood drawn recently and was a bit surprised at how dark it was. I (and probably most people) am used to only seeing my blood through shallow scrapes and papercuts where it is just the capillaries broken, but this time I was seeing it come out a vein.
I feel like you have experience with unaliving people to know that information, but who am I to judge?
Also it is very sticky and guey
I saw Blade on the thumbnail and thought my daily Star Rail grinding finally Evolved into hallucinations ☠️✨
same lmao
I skipped a few days in HSR when I should be farming jades for Blade and Luocha rerun. But I'm sooooo lazy
@@Svper_Nova wait wait wait! WHEN?!
Sameeeeee
Dude real, i actually just straight up screamed inside when i saw him
Fun fact about blood that I discovered when I hit my head some time ago: Blood on dark brown hair turns them black, while water makes them just darker brown + blood on hair is as if you went too hard with hair gel. It makes them very hard and sticked together.
oh dear is your head ok?
As someone who has had to get blood out of their hair, it is HELL.
@@pineapple_smoothie17 real
diluted blood is a little more orange than pink, actually. plasma is yellowish. from my observances, blood in the mouth, smeared on skin, or spilled into a pool of water tends to get a little orange along the edges. so whenever i draw blood, i tend to add a bit of yellow-orange underneath especially along areas where the blood is thinner, smeared, or diluted i also use a slightly orange shade of red (like rust or scarlet) for the base color.
it's mostly trace amounts of blood that can be a bit pinkish (like blood mixed with other bodily fluids) but in art, i really like adding that touch of orange. it gives the blood a little something extra that really makes it look a lot more realistic.
Yea I used to work at a haunted house as a makeup artist and I hate it when companies make the fake blood too pinkish, it doesn't look realistic at all and just looks like jam or paint, it needs the orangey tone
Yeah I’ve also found that dried blood has hints of brown too
Donated plasma for the first time recently. Looked like cat piss.
i like some of the dont sides, they look more cartoony and goofy. i imagine they are good for simple or jokey panels in a comic or something. however the rain drippy effect on the do side looks so good oh my gosh
Yeah, I like the don't glitch effect a lot more than the do glitch effect. To me it reads a lot more as "glitching". But that's just my opinion!
GOT HERE SO FAST THE TRAILBLAZER HASN'T BEEN MADE YET
Yeeeee
So you exceeded the speed of light and traversed back in time to before the year of 1998? ...But then how are you here if you're way back there in time?? Have you opened up a new reality? Did you tear a paradoxical hole into the very fabric of space-time itself??? JUST WHAT HAVE YOU DONE????? 😱
Looking at a trail, Is this the flash?
As someone who has butchered turkeys I can confirm if I am kneeling over the bird the blood shoots up my arm (which I used to sever the neck) and then the rest sort of just spatters in droplets all over me, especially on my lower body but even on my face which is above the bird. Blood really sprays everywhere when it comes out of an artery.
Someone I know who is especially good at drawing blood is Jordan Persegatti. He draws a LOT of blood, and he's really good at adding a lot of movement to it
Ahhh yes!! First time I've seen someone talk about him anywhere, I love that guy's gory art :))
Here's a tip on drawing blood: when you're drawing blood that's coming from the actual thing that's bleeding, you want to make it darker the more deep it is. So if you're drawing a very deep wound then make it very dark in the middle but a bit lighter around. Multiply helps a lot.
Thank you for uploading this as a amateur horror artist this right here is so fricken useful ! 💀
For me, whenever I draw blood it's always supposed to be the main part of the drawing, so I use saturated colours for that, but whenever it's just to make a character look cool, I use darker colours.
I also like using softer, more watercolor-type brushes when drawing blood on clothes, especially ones that blend and fade well onto other colors without needing to blend with a separate tool
Can we all appreciate how lavendertowne takes a lot of energy into making these perfect videos
I actually think the don't for water is cute! I always like to make kinda realistic art and then do exagarated highlights :)
Yay I love this series!! I’m glad LavenderTowne’s bringing it back :D
Great tips as always!!
I pride myself in being weirdly good at drawing/painting blood, I remember watching an youtube video about someone showing how blood splatters in different ways and it helped me a lot. Plus, I tend to get hurt a lot so I'm well aware of how many shades blood can have
But I'm absolutely useless with other liquids lol
If you want to go the extra mile with glitch effects, learn the difference between analog and digital glitches. Like in the american remake of The Ring, the story was still about a video tape (an analog medium) but all the glitching was digital, which was a bit jarring to someone who grew up with the older tech. Of course you don't have to keep things 100% accurate, but it can give the right kind of flavour to your design and help with immersion.
i was not expecting to see blade on the thumbnail but I LOVE HIM IN UR STYLE HES SO PRETTY
It's kinda funny about the hair drying thing because the tips of my hair are *always* the first to dry, the rest of my hair will be wet for hours but the tips will dry in half an hour or so
Same here, I have frizzy hair at the tips, so they're more sparse and dry quicker than on top of my head where it's more dense
Same! My hair is curly and the tips always dry pretty quickly, but the rest of my hair often stays wet for hours.
YAYYYYYYY, you're doing my favorite game rn! I'm so happy to see the characters in your art style, and to hear that they sponsored you!
THIS IS ACTUALLY SOOO USEFUL TNX FOR MAKING A VIDEO ON THIS!! Also, when I saw blade I clicked SOOO fast like "OMG I KNOW THAT GUY!!" But anyways. Keep going ur style is very cute and fun
Interestingly enough, the shape, spread, and distance of blood spatter is actually a big factor in actual forensics.
After seeing the liquids in the title, I half expected "glue" to be in the mix and then remembered what channel this was on lmao
Yess the stellaron hunters!! Tysm for all this advice! I always have trouble drawing water droplets so this is great :D
I needed a tutorial like this for so long! Thank you Lavender!
these look amazing, though i wouldnt have thought hsr would sponsor you. amazing combo tho! something i didnt know i needed
my favorite game :) :) it’s really fun to see other people appreciating hsr and the amazing character designs
Her art always looks so gorgeous omg ❤
your art style will always be one of my favourites
After binge watching many of your videos recently I wanted to say a big thanks for being such a huge inspiration for me as an artist. These tips are genuenly very helpful and enjoyable to watch/listen to!
tbf, I love the "don't" side of the glitches. Again, everything in art is subjective, I just think it looks cool and cute and it can work well for simpler styles
They look so good in your art style 😭💕.
I really like how her art style is so distinctive and you can recognise it straight away.
Also I love the three characters in the video, fell in love with their character demos. Hoyoverse did a great job on them.
A+ for sponsor integration rather than one skipable ad in the video
omg thanks lol I needed help with drawing blood, this helped a lot! I never really thought abt how it'll look different on clothes
Your tutorials/pointers are genuinely so useful especially for beginners/novice artists!! Not crazy complicated but still so useful dnkgvkbi
the way you draw clothes is so scrumptious ‼️‼️
Genuinely I just had a good day that went to a really bad day and I went to my phone and there you were. Ty for posting bro 😭❤️
the artstyle
I've been wanting to draw gore properly for so long ty
oh my god the first tip was so good!! ive been drawing a bit of horror art recently for a friends project and that was very helpful. a dos and donts on drawing injuries would be so cool to see from lavendertowne :)
Ahhh they look so neat in your style!! from the thumbnail I instantly knew it was blade ushgdiuhg
Oh my god my favorite RUclips artist and my favorite video game together!?!?!?
this is such a cool concept, you always create such amazing art ❤
You were the person that pushed me to do art, and have fun with it. Thank you.
MORE ART HACKS YESSSS I NEEDED THESE
I want to say I found your videos when I was 13 and you were the reason why I ended up deciding to make art my career. I am now 19 in uni as an animation major I would never be there if it weren't for you.
Honestly I’ve been watching her videos for years and I love them so much they’ve been so helpful, entertaining, motivating, and I also really adore her art style, IM LITERALLY SO GLAD SHE MAKES THESE VIDEOS
AAAA THANK YOU SO MUCHHH!!♡♡♡♡
this helps a lot, all of them; i live your art so much- this will help me a lot as an aspiring artist
MY QUEEN has posted and blessed yet another Friday evening for me 💖💖💝💝💞💞
Perfect timing because I was just struggling to draw a water scene when I got the notification for this vid!
OOOOOOOOOH I NEEDED THIS!! thank you so much!!
this series was the reason why my art got better 🤭
Convenient making a video of how to draw blood right before October 😌
Love your vids you are amazing and helped me with me art thank you and keep doing what you love! ❤

Lavendertowne's artstyle is my dream one from now, I swear ❤
I love this series! Thank you for bringing it back, I love your art as always
About the blood, if you know neytirix, she draws it sometimes very bright, but she kinda makes it look good.. so idk. It depends on the style :)
Apropos style, love yours! :D
I've practiced this a bit. Not that great at the blood-dripping part, but good at coloring bruises.
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! I am in awe!
visited your channel after three four years or so, i ive realized you really influenced how i draw eyes lol love it!
Yes yes YES my favorit series from you returns.
Aside from having amazing HSR fanart the tips are awesome too. I'll definitely be using these!
YESSSS I NEEDED THIS FOR SO LONGGGG
i love so much your artstyle!!!!!
I love your Art and this helps so much tysm
I always loved these do this not that videos, I always learn something new
Great video as always!
And for the tips about drawing a character having been rained on, I'd like to add the tip of making some few white hair strands here and there, for me, it makes it look like that effect of frizz our hair get with dampness!
By the way, I noticed on Twitter that your "Do & Don't do" vídeos tend to get some senseless hate, with people saying that you're making up rules, being authoritary and blah blah blah, when you're actually just being very sweet about it and just giving tips that match and work well on the most popular art styles! Keep up with it, it helps a ton!
HI LAVENDERTOWNE!!! sooo i saw that ibis paint recently made a animation update and i think it would be really cool if you did a review on it!! ❤❤❤
YEEESSSS THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!!
Now, that, I can use !! Thanks, LT !!
When u said u made the water blue when u were younger I cringed, I totally did that all the time😂
These are very helpful tips!!✨
FINALLY WHAT I NEEDED IM HORRIBLE AT DRAWING LIQUIDS :D
*Tip For Blood:* spatter patterns are different depending on the force used, blood spatter from blunt force trauma will look different from a stabbing. Some wounds don't produce blood spatter while others make fountains
those are prettx tricky to draw, so exited to watch! :D
Thank you Lavender Towne
LavenderTowne: How to draw glitch effects!
Procreate users: I don't need this 😎
THANK GOD I NEEDED THIS SO BAD ;-;
Your videos are amazing as always, and I'm so delighted and thankful that you share your art with us! But I was wondering, do you think you'd possibly do more videos or a series more focused on the writing aspect of making a comic? Or the layout or other odd less thought about aspects? I'm making a comic, and there's so much I could ask you. I'd love to hear some more of your wisdom there!
ooh I love the glitch effects!
The other stuff is "just" good advice, but the glitches were super inspiring
As someone who is getting into drawing this helps alot
FINIALLY AT 2 MILLION!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
This was so helpful, thank you!
Most videos in my art tips playlist are Lavendertowne videoes
I love these tips and tricks so much!! I know that you largely do digital art, but do you know how to obtain the same effects through traditional art and some tricks for that!!
i waa literally just struggling to draw blood and she posts this
lavender to the rescue once more
I just wanna say that YOUR BOOK UNFAMILIAR IS THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ
I love your art som much❤
Hii, I'd be super interested in a video about the different types of layers (/filters) like multiply and more (maybe your favorite types of layers to use)
I'm super lost especially because I'm not quite sure if I still need to mess with the color itself if I already apply a special kind of layer (multiply foe example... If I wanna shade with that, do I just change the layer and apply "the same color" again and the layer will filter it to an appropriate darker color or...?)
Love your videos!!
You've always been a big inspiration to me
"blood is not paint"
me now wanting a part 2 that teaches you how to draw paint:
Wow, lavender towns comment section is so wholesome ❤ ive been a fan for a while but dont often open the comment section
I actually gasped when i saw the thumbnail. I was literally fighting phantaliya with blade at that exact moment
Just what I needed :D
Honestly I rlly like the don't glitch, it's cute
