Street food is BEST food!
He obviously doesn't want to get the sh*ts or food poisoning. He just overly careful because some places the hygiene isn't five stars. Getting sick on vacation for days is a big no no especially when driving.
He probably has a digestive disorder and just doesn't realize it yet. But yes live a little Simon. PS Don't drink the tap water.

Simon bro the best part of traveling is to experience the food. It’s the heart of the culture! You don’t go to Mexico and eat a burger 😂. Some of the best food I’ve eaten has been from tiny mom and pop shops

I mean... bald literally said it's the worst food he's ever had. Both tacos he had, and on the 2nd one was dissappointed that they are far from good genuine tacos. So I don't really think he's missing out.
May have not missed out on anything this time but the mindset to me is going to make his miss out on the culture. If you get sick a time or 2 in your travels it’s still worth it. Sticking to big chains doesn’t really give you the true taste of their culture. Also the second place he still ate...so risked getting sick...but had a dang hamburger instead of trying the Mexican food. Granted it wasn’t any good at that particular place but the point still applies

Yes...I suppose one could say the Mexican people speak Spanish...but not really. It is a dialect OF Spanish. In fact...some Spaniards would have trouble understanding Mexicans. Likewise...the Portugeuese, would have trouble understanding Brazilians. Just as...some Americans have trouble understanding some dialects of English that derive from Britain and Ireland.

All credit to him, nothing worse than tourists haggling with locals over a couple quid or even less.
Uber is much cheaper. Also, calling a taxi in Mexico is twice as expensive as taking a taxi on the street.
Regular taxis are always more expensive than Ubers, besides that you should always try to negotiate the price or ask them to use the taximeter.

You did an amazing job driving through Mexico without even knowing the place. I am Mexican and I would think twice before doing it so I can't imagine doing it in a foreign country.
Also don't listen to the bad comments about how you talk about some places. It is normal to doubt before eating in a roadside food place. I can assure you that 50% of mexicans would never stop at the places where you ate, we have very well identified the good places to eat on the road. It is easy to get sick even for our stomachs and is very common to joke about nasty places saying that they serve dog meat so don't give importance to the haters.

The drink Simon said is absolutely horrendous is a Michelada, I have those in California. Michelada is a cerveza preparada made with beer, lime juice, assorted sauces, spices, tomato juice, and chile peppers.
We have the Caesar in Canada, which is very similar but instead of beer we use vodka (but you can also include beer as well as the vodka, which we call a Beesar). The only other difference is that the Caesar has clamato juice (clam + tomato) instead of tomato juice. Throw a strip of smoked bacon into your next Michelada as a garnish, I bet it would taste great!

Honestly their small Sony's handling quality better in all situations + wider angle lens makes their videos look far better.
