Theres never enough people unboxing and showing off a new enclosure i could watch those thpes of videos for HOURS !!
Hahahaha Thank you!
second that
Happy belated birthday Tom! Love your videos. I actually prefer slings, nothing better than watching them grow, and they are so cute when they are so tiny. As I'm from Australia, I can only get aussie tarantulas and the most affordable ones are slings. I got my first sling in December and it's already doubled in size. Can't wait to see future videos of your cute babies.
Hello, Janice! Thank you very much! I agree with you 100%...slings are all I buy because I love growing them up. I LOVE your Aussie Ts, and wish that we had more in the states. Which species did you get? Congrats on joining the hobby, by the way! Thank you!
Hi Tom! Thank you! If it wasn't for your informative videos I wouldn't be so confident with owning a T. I would also LOVE to own some of the beautiful T's that you do, however, our laws here don't allow it. Actually I'm lucky I live in Victoria, and not Tasmania, they don't allow T's there at all. I bought a Selenotypus sp. Exevale, as when I was looking at what I could buy, wanted something smaller than a Phlogius T, I also had a little fear to get over. At the start of this year I bought a Phlogius sp. Goliath, I nickname this one Golly, this little dear just loves galloping across the container and up the walls in a blink of an eye every time I feed it. I probably should have a smaller container for this sling, but with how fast it is I'm glad that at the time I got it, could only house it in a too big container. I've also noticed the Selenotypus T's have a more chunky abdomen compared with the Phlogius T's which is probably why it's so fast. I have also become a little obsessed with the different colours you can get in both types and now have 9 Phlogius species and 11 Selenotypus species with colours that range from blonde to black. I did buy one juvenile a Selenotypus sp. Champagne Robusta, I only see this T at feeding time whereas the slings I see a lot more. Thank you again for your great videos, when I noticed my Exevale was going to moult, I wasn't as nervous as I might have been had I not watched your moulting video.
Happy birthday Tom. By the way , at the 5 min mark, the correct pronunciation for “birupes” is “bee-roo-pez “. “biru” means “blue” in the Malay language of Malaysia which is where the spider originated from
Hello, Desmond! Thank you so much for the correction! I was so focused on trying to get the species part right, that I didn't even think to check the genus. Thank you!
Well it seems like you must have had a great birthday. Nice to see how surprised you were since you didn't know what you were getting.
Yeah, I had an awesome birthday weekend! I was only expecting 3-4. haha Thanks!

I thoroughly enjoyed this video and a big Happy Birthday to you ! You made the statement that if you rehoused all of them that people would get bored - no way - I would watch for as long as it takes because I have a blast listening to your pronunciation of the species LOL and I totally enjoy listening to you because you have a wonderful knowledge of the T’s and a marvelous sense of humor !!!
Well, thank you very much, Angie! :) And that's really good to know. I always feel like the rehousings are a bit long a boring. Hahaha. Man, I wish I had a chance to practice those ahead of time! lol Thanks again!

Thank you, Marie! Yeah, I have two adults that are STILL burrowing! :)
Happy Birthday Tom! That's one heck of a gift from Billie and Tanya!
Thank you, Warren.Yeah, it was actually kind of shocking. I thought that I was getting 3-4. lol
@@TomsBigSpiders oh wow! Yeah I would of been shocked too!
I just got my first fear not tarantulas order yesterday! I got a tliltocatl epicureanum, a brachypelma emilia, and a neoholothele incei! The brachypelma and tliltocatl are really tiny. 1/2 of a inch is even smaller then I thought! This brings my tarantula collection up to 7! Thanks for all the help!
That's awesome...you got some awesome species there! Watch out, as that 7 soon turns into 70... ;)
Springtails! Holy cow! NICE birthday presents!
I know, right? I put in roach legs the other day just in case. lol Thanks!
Happy Birthday Tom! Grats on all the new T's . I have a Phormictopus cancerides hope you have a great day.
Thank you so much! The P. cancerides was the one that made me fall in love with the genus Phormictopus. I love them. :)
Happy birthday dude! Hope you had an awesome time!! 🤘🤘🤘 I've had my P. cochleasvorax since the January and it's already molted once 😁 such an amazing little species!
Hey, Dan! Thank you so much. I had an AWESOME weekend. Billie also hooked me up with some new hoodies and some awesome Scotch, so I can't complain. Man, what size is yours? My two are already piggies! haha
Happy birthday! Amazing box of spiders, excited to see some of these grow.

So glad you have a new camera Sir Tom!

A wide variety, happy birthday.
I was shocked, honestly. Thank you!
Go ahead brag it up about all your new T’s. JUST KIDDING!!!! Happy belated Birthday, and look forward to seeing future videos of all your new additions. It’s good to treat yourself on your Birthday, and Christmas!! I’ll be treating myself at a expo in June for my birthday also!! 😂😂

Happy birthday Tom been listening to your podcast super informative and helpful thank you
Thanks so much, Austin! :) And double thanks for listening to the podcast!
I was working with my Chacho Golden Knee listening to this at the same time and couldn't keep from laughing about the " DOG FARTS " !!!! LMAO !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOUGH !!!!
Hahahaha. Russell, it was SOOOO bad! Like, I was ready to gag. hahaha And he kept doing it! lol!
Happy B Day Tom!
Thank you, Cory!
Happy Birthday Tom! 🥳🥳 I knew you’d get a few of those new Phormictopus species, haha. Super jealous of your Cyriopagopus sp. “Bach Ma”! Cyriopagopus/Haplopelma is my favorite genus, and C. sp. Bach Ma” are such a gorgeous species! Congrats! :)
Hey, Ted! Thanks so much, bud! Man, I FREAKED when I saw that she was getting those in. haha And I've been eyeing the Bach Ma for years, so I'm so glad that I finally have one. Just wish that I double checked the genus before posting! haha
Tom Moran Yea the Cyriopagopus/Haplopelma genus is a taxonomic mess right now, haha :)
Happy birthday!!
Congrats on starting genus Megaphobema! They are absolutely amazing and I'm considering driving to Germany to pick up a M. velvetosoma. M. mesomelas should definitely be on your list, mine is my absolute favorite, such a beautiful spider.
Also, try to watch out for the (in-) famous kick that robustum does. It is hilarious!
Thank you! Yes, I can't wait to grow them up. I would love a M. velvetosoma as well, and M. mesomelas is DEFINITELY on my list. :) And I have two older specimens, and I've seen it. It's amazing! haha
@@TomsBigSpiders didn't know you had some? Anyway, I am looking forwards to seeing what you'll put them in when they do grow up! Shouldn't be too long a wait, two years?
Well, congratulations on finally getting a Emilia. Mine is a bit of a pet hole "allways in the burrow" see it briefly after each molt, then just legs when its hungry. Goes through some nice color changes as it grows. Oh yeah belated happy b/day.
Ha! I'm glad that I could finally fill that glaring hole in my collection! :) I can't wait until mine starts showing some color. And thank you!
Absolutely awesome!!!!!
Dog farts ...the worst!!!
Unboxing birthday stuff...Awesome!!!
I love bow and birthday box super cool of them. What a present Congratulations!! Happy old farts day.
How's it going, Jimmy! Thanks so much!
Man, these were so bad that they almost smelled good at some point. hahaha
Yeah, that was so awesome. What a fantastic gift all around. Thanks again!
Happy Birthday Tom! :)
Thank you so much, Justin!
Congrats on the new additions and happy birthday
Thanks so much! :)
Awesome video. Because of you, I got my first tiny sling a few months back (Hamorii) from Fear Not. Tanya was wonderful! I had e-mailed her all nervous about Abbey being so tiny. I felt much better after the email an now have a healthy growing baby!
Thank you, Toni. And that's awesome! She and her team really take care of folks. I love that! :)
My two tarantula slings I got were from Fear Not Tarantula! They are the green bottle blue and T. Albopilosus (Nicaraguan Curly Hair)! They were very healthy and the service from Fear Not was great! I am very happy with them and will definitely buy future tarantulas from them again! I've also been recommending them to others. :D
Also, Happy Birthday!!! I can't wait to see the slings as they grow! I could barely see the legs on the super tiny one you showed!
That's awesome! Wonderful species there! :) Yeah, they have always been awesome when I've ordered from them. And thank you!
@@TomsBigSpiders Thank you!
Happy birthday Tom. 50 is not far. I shop at Fear Not from time to time. Great prices & wonderful selections...;p
Shhhhhhh... hahaha Yeah, they've always been awesome to me. Thanks, Rob!
Happy birthday Tom the 🐐
Thank you, Ryan!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Thank you!
Thanks for the great video Tom. Was a great help for housing our P sp Rufus sling.
Oh, man..I'm so glad that this was helpful! And congrats on your sling!
Happy Birthday! Love your videos, I always learn so much from you. Funny you uploading a rehouse video. We rehoused our Arizona Blonde today for the first time. We followed your instructions for fossorial rehouses since our girl dug a huge tunnel system lol! Went very smoothly, my hubby literally scooped her up on the spoon he was digging with. She sat still and let him set her into her new home.
Thank you, Kathy! :) And I truly appreciate that. :) And I'm SO glad to hear that it went well...that's awesome! Congrats on the smooth rehousing. :)
Happy Birthday 🥳!!!!
Thank you so much, Shauna! :)
Happy Birthday ! That was quite the haul with a lot of great Ts. Without a doubt, you'll raise them to adulthood and we'll be getting footage on their growth and life habits. Thanks for sharing :)
Hello, Luc! Yeah, I was expecting 3-4 tarantulas. That box was amazing. Thank you so much, bud...I can't wait to grow them up!
Happy birthday Tom!! You got an awesome birthday haul there. I can’t believe you didn’t have a B. Emilia😮
Thank you so much, Tink! Yeah, this was an amazing haul and MUCH more than I thought that I was getting. Hahaha. That once has caused quite a bit of shock over the years! lol
Happy birthday, and thank you for your well thought out videos
Thanks so much, Will!
Happy happy birthday!
Thank you, Earnest!
Happy Birthday Tom, congratulations on all your new spoods. Thank you for being so informative you are always my go to

Bahahahahaha. You're one of the good ones, bud! ;)

Happy birthday Tom!
Thank you, Dan!
You finally got an Emilia! Yay! Thanks for the always knowledge and entertaining video. You’re my favorite tarantula guy. Your videos helped me get into the hobby. 😊👍🏻
Hahahaha. That hole in my collection has finally been filled. haha And thank you so much! That's awesome!
Tom Moran If it helps It always made me feel pretty cool whenever you’d mention not having an Emilia. I’d puff out my chest and be like ‘Even Tom Moran don’t have one of these’. 😂😂😂
Happy birthday Tom!
Yeah the simoroxigorum has quite a troubled past. I truly hope they're captive bred.
Thank you so much, Simon! They absolutely do, and it's a shame. My goal would be to breed these and get some captive bred ones in the hobby. Believe me, I thought long and hard about getting those...
Oh! Yes, they are ABSOLUTELY captive bred. Sorry...I misread it. That was one thing I asked.
@@TomsBigSpiders Cool, always good to have more captive species available to protect their natural habitats :-)
Happy birthday! Great vid as always
Thank you, Derek! :)
🥳Happy birthday, Tom 🎂
Hope you had an awesome day with your family. Fantastic birthday gift!🤩
Wish you all the best and take good care of yourself and your loved ones.☺️ Lovely greetings🇩🇪🙋🏼♀️

Long hair forever tom!!!!happy birthday!!!!
Bahahahaha! I was going to cut it, but man does it piss people off at work. haha Thanks, Mike! :)
@@TomsBigSpiders YES MAN!!! Biggoted cunts here in Newfoundland too brother!!! I tell em I'll cut mine when they stop asking.
That's a great Birthday gift! Happy belated Birthday hope it was great :)
It was awesome, Charlotte! And thank you so much!
Happy Birthday!! I would be very happy about such a gift. Guess you enjoy it as well. There are many species I had never heard of before. And about the video: I like unboxing videos in general very much.
Thank you so much, Aphilia! Yeah, I was quite happy, too...it was amazing.
Congratulations Tom, nice new additions!
Thanks so much, bud! :)
Many happy returns on what we'll call your (ah-hem) twenty first birthday (I've had two and working on three if ya know what I mean) thank you for the videos as I do so enjoy them and they help very much to take my mind off a painful illness im struggling with but when I'm watching you or dark den or Kat or Dan or exotics lair you guys just take my mind right off it so thank you always for sharing your beautiful hobby with us.
Okay...maybe it's my 23rd. hahaha Thanks so much for the very kind words! :) You've put me in great company there. :)
Happy birthday Tom! Thanks for sharing with us what you got! I feel your pain with the dog's snoring and farting too. I'd love to chat to you sometime about some stuff like substrate. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your birthday!
Thank you so much! Hahaha. They gave me the gift of the fart. lol And I would love to chat about substrate!
Yep how else are they going to show their appreciation of us if it isnt farting and snoring hahah. And that would be great! Do you have an email? :) I would love to talk over some things like that
Happy birthday! Nothing better to get spoods for a gift!
Thank you so much, Royetta! It's the gift that always fits! :)
A few things... First of all Happy Birthday Tom! Secondly, I too have bought several T's from Tanya at Fear Not T's. Excellent experience every time. Simply one of the best places to get tarantulas. And thirdly, I too had found those clear Matchbox car display boxes excellent for slings. Just an idea, to make the lids easier to open on those, I just get a piece of clear Scotch tape and on one end of lid I stick on the bottom side then loop it around and stick it on the top side and press together so you make a tab. It makes it a whole lot easier to get the lid off. And fourth, what an adorable batch of new additions to your collection.
Hello, John! Okay, first...thank you so much! Second, she and her team have been absolutely fabulous to me as well. Love that place! Third, what a great idea...thank you!!! That's awesome! :)
Happy birthday! I got WAY more stress rehousing my C elegans slings than my OBT. I think I'm going to stick with larger Ts for a while!
Thank you, Bobbi! hahaha I hear you! :)
Quite the birthday haul sir... congrats
Thank you so much, Lawrence! :)
So jelly. What a great haul.
Hey, bud! Yeah, I honestly thought that I was only getting 3-4. I was totally shocked!
How funny. You've introduced a lot of people to FNT, but FNT introduced you to me. :)
Yay! Thanks so much for checking out my stuff.
Happy birthday!
Thank you, Avery!
The production value of these videos have really gone up over time. Nice editing/camera skills Tom!
Thank you so much! Billie has been doing a great job with the camera work, and we're really trying to polish things up. :)
Just got an order in from fearnot and was amazed at the packing and separating foam for heat pack. Picked up five M. balfouri and got a B. Smithi for my freebie. I'm a happy camper lol
Oh yeah and happy birthday too hehe
Thank you so much, Charles! Yeah, I've been ordering from them for years, and they are fantastic. Congrats on the latest additions, and good luck with your communal! :)
The smallest sling I've ever raised was my female C. Elegans. I got her at 1/8 of and inch. Was always so worried about raising such a tiny thing, now I'm ok with small slings
I've raised a bunch, but they still freak me out. haha Thanks, Victor!
Happy birthday Tom! Can't wait to see the husbandry videos for these spiders. Really interested to see how long your Megaphobema robustum slings stay fossorial. My girl is about 4.5 to 5 inches and is still staying in the substrate.
Hey, Dusty! Thanks so much! I have two others that are both around 5, and both STILL burrow! I don't think that you're alone. :)
I definitely smell your pain with the dogs! LOL!
The smallest slings I've had so far are the Dolichothele diamantinensis. My first was so small it did actually manage to get out a ventilation hole. I have two now that are staying put. Can't wait for that molt though!!
I would love to see a video with a lot of nerdy facts about that Phormictopus cochleasvorax. I have a very organic yard and tons of Cepaea I could use for feeders. I know they can eat crickets, but hey - who doesn't want a spider you can watch eat a snail??
Those dog farts...dear Lord. haha Yeah, I almost had that happen years ago with a B. smithi sling! Those guys grow very quickly, so yours should be putting on size soon.
And I will definitely do a video on them once mine put on some size. I'll also have to find some snails... :) Thanks, Morgan!
Oh man... I missed it, I am sorry Tom. A late Happy Birthday! Awesome video. Credit for the smell. :D I love the H. Robustum and my god the Birupes Simoroxigorum, so beautiful.
No worries, Christoph! My birthday was actually on February 21st. I posted this a week later! Hahaha It was SOOOOO chewy! lol Can't wait to grow them up!
@@TomsBigSpiders I can't wait to be able to watch. ;D
Happy birthday Tom! Awesome video, have fun with Birupes, i hope i'll get one in near future, also thank you, for inspiring me your passion to phormictopus. I thought i will stay with some standard tarantulas, and here i am, with all available phormictopus, xenesthis and theraphosa's in my country :)
Thank you so much! Man, I was so psyched to get the Birupes...what gorgeous spiders! And that is awesome! I love Phormictopus. :) Thanks again!
