Great Joe, now you’re going to troll all us M2C owners as you develop the car with Swift Performance 😂. I have to say I think you have an excellent potential vlog on your RUclips journey from the early days. I think we all see there is an early stage where growth is ‘challenging’ and real doubts appear about the potential and then for some reason things pick up and you are off - I mean writing a column for EVO is pretty special for people who’ve been regular buyers of the magazine since it’s inception by Harry. Looking forward to seeing more leaps and hopefully my son & I will catch up and reflect on those early days of the Gumball 3000 in London. Cheers, Kevin.
Really enjoy enjoying your content of late, Joe. Great to see a RUclipsr actually driving (and keeping) a car! Congrats and props on the evo contributor job, too. Looking forward to reading that when my subs arrive. 👍🏼
Interesting project Joe! I just bought an M2C similar to yours, and also converting it into a track weapon.. looking forward to following your project 😃 regards Peter, Denmark 🇩🇰😊
Joe this is without doubt the car that has catapulted you to stardom, well done, please don't ever sell the mighty m2 competition this is still your real bread and butter. Great video thanks John.
@@JoeAchilles1 hi Joe count your blessings more so now with the way the world is, I sold my og m2 in January which I bought from your recommendation which I have loved every mile I did in it and still miss it,on the look out now for a bmw m2 competition, I also Joe think it's still one of the best looking cars out there, I was forever looking back at it when I parked it, anyway thanks Joe for another superb video, your also a top guy. Cheers.
I had finally built my track car several years ago but due to an accident have not been able to track it. I’ll definitely be following and living vicariously through yours… The M2 comp is an exceptional platform, IMHO the successor to the E46 M3. Keep up the great content!
Looking forward to following your M2's development from street focused to track focused. One area I hope to see in future updates is your views on the effect of not only different tyre brands/specs for track days but also the "ideal" psi/kpa range for dual purpose road/track tyres VS. 100% track dedicated semi slicks. Apologies and a link to the vid would be appreciated if you've already covered this. Cheers from Oz.
Sold my M3 CS partly due to the stupid nav screen up in front of the dash. Also due to the crank hub fiasco. Intentional from BMW to get wealthy people to buy new engines. Pathetic from BMW.
Absolutely great video as per usual. You have the dream car set up in my opinion. Being a M fan boy I really think an M2 for track/weekend and an M3 COMP xDrive for daily drive(granted it is perfect for track and mad quick as well) is the perfect combination of what M Devision has to offer nowadays. Keep up the amazing work.
Joe, that was an excellent video Mate! Honestly! Looking forward to watching you develop the car, into what you want! Today - and it’s probably tyres - I thought she looked a little unsettled if I’m honest, now you handled it with ease, which just proves that you can f₹cking steer and I hope the knob who questioned you some time back in the comments reads this…. But can’t wait to see what you do with her when set up your preferred way. BTW - loved the turn around at the end…. Glad you kept it in!
Thanks buddy! Absolutely love being on track, aim to get fit, lose weight and get much better throughout this year, hopefully in line with the cars mods 😉👊
That looks like a lot of fun! Great footage. Sadly my GT3 is not as playful (unless you're Chris Harris), makes me miss my F80 sometimes. Was nice meeting you at Bedford.. keep up the great content. Will be interested to see what you think of the M3 Xdrive.
Hi Joe!! Totally love all your videos, so humble and professional.. with quality and serious knowledge!! Really glad to follow all your work!!! Joe can I ask a serious question? I’m fortunate enough to own two lovely BMWs but unfortunately one must go.. so I have a G30 520d xdrive saloon.. March 2017 (cheap road tax) all the bells and whistles sunroof, head up display, etc… then the other is a G21 330d xdrive touring.. Sept 2019.. high road tax.. again all the bells and whistles sunroof, pro pack, msport diff, etc.. love both cars but one needs to go because my wife requires a Mini Electric!! What do I do?? Any answer would be appreciated.. Thanks
I also never sell my ///M2C, its by far one of the most fun cars I've ever driven and also very good looking. When I buy another roadcar, I will keep the M2C only for trackdays but it will never leave.
Yes they are standard 783M M2 wheels and standard size cups 👌 I agree they do look better than stick for some reason, especially the chunky sidewalls. Cheers
It’s because they are not BMW star marked and therefore don’t have that stretched look that the ones that come with 763M’s or the Pilot Super Sports from factory.
Great content, well presented as usual - love the car ( not fully there on your ‘bob’ hat 😃) . I would value your opinion on lm running a Yaris GR4 which l love but really fancy a M2 Comp - personally do you think l would miss my GR4 🤔. Thanks.
The M2C is brilliant however I’d be looking at proper brakes, suspension with SS top mounts to get some additional caster & camber to give the car a much better front end. Oddly enough I don’t think they need more power. Schirmer splitter and wing, lower seats. Heaven
Great driving Joe, yes the end of the day is always the best when a lot of people has left, I always run out of gas when I’m having the most fun. The S55 waste a lot of gas when you really start to get on it.
What is your height please? Out of curiosity just to calculate the space between you and the headliner wearing a helmet. I see that you don’t have a sunroof ( that helps a lot ), electric seats or manual? By the way don’t sell it.... one of the best BMWs. 👌
Hey Jo - your car is awesome - not exactly a turd! You can spend thousands on it, or hopefully have the parts given to you for free for a bit of airtime. As the viewer, we are not going to appreciate from the vid if its really any better, only that you will tell us so . I know you're not meant to do track times as it encourages people to go balls out and then crash. You've done some amazing vids in the past - loved your road trip on lane control autopilot with StefABTV to Geneva and your Brompton up the Alps climb, but great fun as this was for you to make - a day at Palmersport, I didn't really engage with it at all - sorry ! 😴
Nice to see you having fun with the M2C again Joe. I have a 2017 M2 LCI with DCT, love everything about the car except the driving position. I find my 2019 Toyota 86 to have a more natural driving position. Also looking forward to your more affordable 3rd car in the line up!
Amazing video. It might just be me but i think you should edit the videos together, so they both appear on the screen at the same time. i.e. you have yourself in the corner and then the view as the main shot on the screen. Feels abit weird seeing one camera angle at a time especially as there is alot going on. (Maybe even add a pedal cam one day)
Did you get a base lap time, so at the end of the build, you can revisit this circuit and actually see the time difference. (weather and track temp permitting)
Talented driver he is. Not sure why he doesn't have more subscribers. You do have that one on him. Looking forward to the M2 Comp build. CS owner here. (broke CS owner). I'll sit back and dream about the parts you install and purchase. Thanks for the interesting, and likable channel. Enjoy that new car!
Cheers Chris! Think it's pad deposit because the car was sitting still for too long... New brakes going on next month though so looking forward to that 👌
@@JoeAchilles1 I am running the EBC discs & RPI pads plus OEM calliper set up and the judder is horrendous. its either brake pad deposit, uneven wear on the discs or the calipers are sticking. Thinking AP set up for me going forward 👍
Can't wait for this build to begin, this car has so much potential! Hope you enjoy the journey 🏁
Cheers mate! Is there anything to fix the steering? and make it more connected? and direct?
The fact you have kept this car tells me all I need to know. The M2 has a space close to your heart. A vehicle with real soul!

to solve your seat woes, potentially install lowered seat rails to drop the seating position down by a few inches?
