- It's the 4th Of July Weekend and we are having a staycation at the Polynesian Bungalows! We are watching Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, or so that was the plan. Instead we end up at Contemporary Bay Lake Tower, it was just a different kind of weekend.

Most important thing about this vlog is that things don't always go your way, this wasn't a situation where I am upset with disney or anyone in particular. Just unfortunate it didn't work out BUT Happy july 4th and I hope you have a safe and fun weekend. :)

That moment you passed the girl who called out your name was so sweet. It was a little reminder of how much your fans appreciate you and offering to take a selfie with her when time was tight was just lovely to see. As much as you can keep on trying to see the silver lining during challenging times, you’ll be forgiven for feeling frustrated but you’ll have made that girl’s day, week and month by being thoughtful and kind. One year try watching the fireworks at the California Grille, they are amazing because you see all the fireworks from the surrounding areas! Thanks and sorry you were disappointed!

The way to avoid that is book it yourself and not depend on a travel agent that obviously messed up. It should always show up in your MDE account.
I have learned after working at the crappy allstar resort never expect anything from Disney because they don't seem to think that they owe you after they majorly screwed up and your travel agent screwed up to which you got is not have any expectation with that either when you're dealing with travel agents and Disney world in the same sentence you shouldn't expect anything after working all star I learned a lot that's why I will never stay again and the Disney resort and I would never recommend it
Was this stay booked direct or renting DVC points? I know you didn’t book it, but whichever of your friends did…I’d like to know. I know Disney emails look a like before you open them, so I wonder if the TA saw the reservation number in her email thread and just assumed (all those emails start with your reservation number even if they are not confirmation emails). Not to mention not every TA is great at their job..it’s too easy for anyone to be a Disney TA these days. Sorry that happened to you guys!

Last year (in CA) they kept the merch out for several months until it sold out.
Funny story- Universal Hollywood has Pride Merch year 'round, usually. Because Pride isn't a month- it's a way of life.
Nothing is for certain it can always go wrong. At least you saw fireworks and friends & you have something to look forward to. You will get a bungalow. And you got a flower lei.

Wow! This is exactly why i always make my own reservations especially for hotels! Someone messed up bad :( Bay Lake tower is amazing but a studio for 4 adults is a no! 😝 Glad you made the most of the situation. Book the bungalows another time when its not busy and you will be amazed!

Epcot was pretty quiet on the 3rd. We did it all and got out around 8pm.
Dude… you have no idea how lucky you are… I’ve never been to a Disney resort in Florida before,but I’ll finally be doing it this December… unfortunately, due to my own budget, I’m staying at the All Star Movies… but believe me, all these other resorts makes me jealous I’m not rich. 😩

We own DVC at BLT which we love - I’m shocked you could not get into Top of the World Lounge as a compensation to watch the fireworks!!

Really glad I’m not there this year for the 4th, last year we watched from the “dessert terrace” and it was super hot. Instead we chose to go for new years, won’t be as hot but will be crowded for sure. Oh and we just might be staying in the bungalows 😂jk.

You should get DVC. The resorts are beautiful and you can even use points on Disney cruises.

I'm sorry y'all had to go through that ordeal but T least you spent this time with your friends and enjoying the Sunny Day. When I saw Jeet in the vlog made me want to tear up know that he is not allowed entry to the Disney Parks. Question is he able to go to Disney Springs and enjoy the time there or is he denied the whole Disney platform in general. I would love for him to be in the videos with you at least at the Disney Springs.

I hate to say this Jojo, cause I love Polynesian for the aesthetic and being an original, but I've had this happened to me and my family MULTIPLE times over the past few years at their resort. It's either they overbook something or put you in the incorrect room type, etc. Every single time it's been chaos. I actually was hoping things had changed since I haven't stayed there in a minute, but since I've seen your video, I'm good to wait a little longer! It's a systemic issue they need to fix. Sad to hear you had to learn the hard way! Hopefully management finds a solution since you put your experience out there.

@margaretanglade5293 Unfortunately, yes. And it never mattered guest status either, mistakes were still made. First time it was booked under a cast discount, second and third time under passholder discount. Different people listed as the primary traveler too. You're right, for the cost of the rooms you'd expect more. But unless it's the luck of the draw, this has always been both mine and my family's experience. It pains me to say so.
That's interesting. I wonder if they are just intentionally bumping you if they get somebody who wants a room at full price.
@margaretanglade5293 No, I don't think so. Usually, Passholders and DVC are better taken care of. Just never had that issue at any other Disney resort (I've stayed at almost all of them).

I love Jo Jo and he really seems like a great person. I am not even sure he realizes it, but it unfortunately it is noticeable to us. I am sure she is ok or she would not go out with him all the time but I just hope she continues to stay in the videos because she is such a sweet girl and seems like a really good friend. I would hate for him to lose that.❤

That’s why I go to WDW in the fall, especially when in the summer, I’ll never go in the summer after my first and last experience lol. I’m very excited about my next trip this fall cuz I’ll be there this November for my birthday month and will be going to the Jollywood Nights event in DHS. this was a tough weekend for you but i have to point out -- you stopped and made time for a fan when you were in a rush to catch the monorail. that was so heartwarming and that's what it's all about :)
As for DVC - we own DVC and have long enough to get all of the “perks” with our points. Since you are a florida resident AP holder already - discounts on tickets won’t really matter to you, so you would need to evaluate whether the perks of owning direct (access to lounges, discounts for DVC, use on cruises) is worth it for you - otherwise - if you want to keep doing staycations at DVC resorts - you might consider a retail contract or just renting from DVC for those nights if you are not doing that already.
The cost of ownership is a forever cost and he prices have gone up a lot since we purchased

It really sounds like it’s your travel agents fault and the blame should be there instead of Disney. Maybe look into switching to someone who double checks your bookings and calls ahead for you?

You were being cautious with your words but sometimes you need to be truthful as an influencer. This was a BAD experience and Disney should have made it right. A bungalow stay should have been at the very least a Cabin or at the very least 3 br suite in exchange. Shame on disney for this one.
If the travel agent made a mistake you can’t really expect Disney to fix it on their busiest day of the year

As an "Disney expert" you should know how bookings work. Overbooking is not a thing in Disney, they are extremely thorough on rooms. July 4th never has Bungalow availability... as a DVC owner I can verify this. Your Travel Agent messed up when you wanted to changed from the 28th to the 4th; not Disney's fault... the TA dropped the ball and is using "over booking" as an excuse. Please don't do the whole fake "oh no shtick" for views and try to get people invested. Most Disney fans will see this is your fault as the information doesn't add up. You have to manually put your confirmation number into MDE, since you didn't have one from your TA the reservation never existed.
You know, Disney should make up for this fiasco. But I doubt they will. On one occasion, Disney had mistakenly dropped my reservation. On another occasion, they had put my party in the wrong room.

I don't know about the Polynesian, but when I worked at the Yacht Club and Beach Club, we would bring luggage out storage to the door for guests to get out whatever they needed. I assume they still do it?
