I know people have different opinions about the NFS games and the "car progression" systems, but personally I'm so done with the "festival car games" where I'm given a lambo within 15 minutes of the game (lookin at you, forza horizon games, fuck your wheelspins). I'm praying The Crew 3's going to be more compelling to actually play, progress and unlock stuff.
You don’t start out with a lambs in this game, but if you played the crew 2 you can import all of your cars over to motorfest. This game definitely has more progression.
I can't wait for TDU Solar Crown. Though I'm excited to see how they remixed Oahu island for Motorfest, especially from the OG makers of TDU who made The Crew
It looks like they've taken the best from different worlds and poured it into The Crew Motorfest. A bit of Forza Horizon, a bit of NFS, a bit of Test Drive Unlimited. The graphics and environment, look really very good. My biggest concern was the driving physics or the handling of the cars. Other RUclipsrs have said that the driving experience has improved a lot compared to the previous version. Even if it is still very arcade-like. Sometimes even more in the direction of simcade, like Forza Horizon.
I just wanted a open world multiplayer simulator. simcade is nice to play on keyboard but on wheel it is atrocious. what makes me kinda upset is that making a game with different handling depending on controller type would be very hard, but actually possible. it wouldn't have to drive like assetto corsa, just having a bit of realism would do maybe assetto corsa 2 will have multiplayer modes other than just circuit races, idk. but it's kinda melancholic to see these upcoming titles feeling absolutely no desire to play them, even though they would absolutely blow my mind 10 years ago
Same thought. I got into TC2 only last year. It's alot of fun... but god the handling in this game is pure ass. It is the only reason why my sessions are rather short. Why bother grinding out a million $ car when u know it handles as if you had 1s+ input lag. Otherwise great game. I'm sure Motorfest will handle more like FH.
Improvements over The Crew 2 > TOYOTA IS HERE AT LAST WOOO > Insane graphics (subject to worsen knowing Ubisoft and downgrades) > Overall Map beauty that surpasses previous titles > Better sense of speed > (Seemingly) better physics > WILD Car roster (600+ cars) > (Seemingly) Proper grouping for each class of cars and not just "Sport, Drift, Drag and Hyper" > A proper racing line > More track-focused realism like tire changes > Fixed the annoying gear change sound that plagued previous titles > Better sound quality and accuracy for cars (The aventador and huracan sounds wild) Though my nitpick is that they still fudged up the sound files for F1 cars. The RB18 is a V6, but sounds like a V12. I also hope there is a PROPER tuning system that marks up to the likes of Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo and it isn't just "Collect parts to upgrade your car to the max". I can also see that, although physics did improve, the Jupiter gravity still remains and the one that bothers me most is the fact the MIRRORS STILL DON'T WORK!!!

While it is a Ubisoft game, it isn't going to be downgraded. It's playable at the graphics level you see in the video, even on an integrated Ryzen 6800H gpu (20fps+ at 1080p max). It's still capped to 60fps. Ivory Tower is the developer and based on their past work, its been upgrades in terms of graphics over the years.
to the OP: I only know from driving BeamNG where you can turn dynamic reflection on and off that it chews massively at your fps. And most of BeamNG's maps are around 4x4 or 8x8km.

I didn't know this was coming and when I saw this video, I thought it was a new dlc for TC2 ... then I realized there are no aircraft or boats. Instantly I knew it was a new game. And I am thankfull for the devs, do not include nothing that's not belong into a racing game.
They ruined racing games. Now everything needs to look bigger and fantastic all the time. Also, the objects in the scenario and sounds have no impact, feels like everything is made of polystyrene just to bad players not to suffer the consequences when they are bad drivers.

The V12 were for the fictional along the RB and I think At cars but yeah is like an odd and funny at the same time, like Ubisoft knows that "every" F1 fan wants to put that engine in current ones

Even putting aside the fact that Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft, I'm still unconvinced, if not outright pessimistic about this game. The Crew had some genuinely promising bones as a story-focused open world racer. Admittedly, the story wasn't as polished as it could have been, and the game does have some jankiness to it (cars rolling seemingly at random, glitching through the map being a regular occurrence for some, etc), but it had a mighty heart. Alex working his way up through the ranks of the 510s to take down the man who murdered his brother and reclaim the throne said murderer occupied was a brilliant concept for a story. Learning how the 510s had changed under Shiv and how Detective Coburn was involved in it all was interesting enough, and gave the player the chance to right some wrongs on the road to taking Shiv down. Again, a lot of the actual missions didn't involve much character animation and it did seem pretty barebones at times, but the potential was there, right? The Crew 2 could've focused on the years before Alex got out, with Shiv's leadership of the 510s closing in on the protagonist or protagonists like a vice until they either flee the U.S., end up arrested, or die trying. The Crew 3 could've been the 510s versus a different, more morally gray organization moving in on their turf, with the 510s preferring to settle everything on the road and their shady rivals preferring to eliminate the competition permanently. The Crew could've been a better Fast & Furious than the Fast & Furious movies ever were. _Seriously._ We have all the legitimate racing we could ever want from Forza, Gran Turismo, and sims like Assetto Corsa. We CERTAINLY don't need another Horizon clone. But as far as I can see, a Horizon clone is what we're getting. A damn shame, since all that accomplishes is the further homogenization of racing games, and the deeper burial of what was probably a better street racing story than even the resurgent Need For Speed could come up with in Unbound. This timeline sucks, dude.
Honestly this looks really fun. I already had a ton of fun with The Crew 2. I just wish they made the speedometer a little bigger, it’s kinda hard to see it.

Because the Japanese Government does *not* want Western Developers setting their Games in Japan, as Western Games break too many of Japan's *strict* Taboo's, meaning the Japanese Government is Refusing to grant Permission for most Western made Games to be set in Japan, so they cannot *legally* set their Games there. They are allowing a few that do not break their Taboo's, but they tend to be "closed course" Games like GRiD and Forza Motorsport. Indie Games like NR are made *without permission* and could easily find themselves in *very hot water* of the kind AAA companies *have* to avoid so as not to cause a Shareholder Panic. No Permission, No Game. It is that Simple I am afraid.
No more boats and planes? This is something I been waiting from The Crew.. Seeing Toyato Supra resurface in racing car gives me goosebump for some reason haha.. Looking forward with this game 👍
It was in crew2 too. It's way easier in crew than payback. Payback was fully rng but in crew, you get gold parts by doing races in hard difficulty. Once you get a part of your liking (usually nitro boost or double money is the way to go) then you reroll 1 of 2 of the mini perks in that part individually so you can make your part the best without losing it. It would be better without them yes but at least this makes the game last longer and its not full rng so we used to it in crew2.
exept horizon 3 loocked better, this is barely beating nfs heat whats no nearly 4-5 years old. i dunno making worse copy of forza is not the way to do it. pass lets see how solar crown does.

I played the game with Insider program, if it's similar to that the cars atleast do handle better than TC2. Cars don't slip as easily as they do in TC2. Again, if it's similar to the insider program then they'll also let you import all your vehicles from TC2
I was super curious about this one so got into the closed beta. and I'm so glad that I did! the Japanese playlist is already my favorite I loved stuff like initial d and wangan midnight in the arcades so getting to recreate some of those memories playing games like that, already sold me on the game big-time! the intro kinda blew me away too, you're just thrown into each race from the moment she's done talking it was kind of a shock to me. had so much fun with it can't wait til september!!
More nfs than forza, they just gave all cars understeer and made them less responsive and called it a day still janky AF just look at the jumps and NSX gameplay again it’s more of the crew 2
~5:00 it's so Forza Horizon 5 it even has Trouble Coming by Royal Blood as featured music - which is on the Horizon XS station in FH5. And the Bronco, and the voiceover, and the slightly more minimalistic UI... Physics are very The Crew-ish so ugh. I don't know man...
Its just as bland and uninspired as Forza Horizon 5 has become. It just feels like a ripoff. A clone of a already soulless game. Little to no physics and graphics improvements and the same cringe happy happy happy meaningless voice acting that somehow is now the standart in the gaming industry.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift was one of my favorite racing games of all time and that game was also set in Hawaii and this game just reminds me of it. I think for once in a long time I'll be picking up a Ubisoft game this year.

I can't help but feel nostalgic for 2000's racing games, every franchise had its thing to make them stand out, nowadays i feel like every open world racing game wants to be Forza somehow And it's not even a great idea because Forza Horizon has plenty of flaws, we had to wait Horizon 5 to see people rant like "damn it's the previous game with another map" yeah no shit sherlock your game is not relevant anymore because you may have a "rEaLisTiC" handling, your game feels like a sandbox with no progression whatsoever and is mostly alive because of the half assed multiplayer and irrelevant updates

Car Companies do not want Police Chases or Crime in Games anymore, it Damages their PR Images and it Damages their Sales, the Family Friendly Festival Racer is rapidly becoming a Requirement to Get Licences, as they do not have the Police Chases or Crime Elements that are causing Car Companies to say "No" to granting Licenses. Furthermore, Underground Street Racing Games are just not selling, EA has openly Declared Unbound, which has struggled to sell 2 Million Units, as an abject Flop! Forza Horizon Style Games are Selling in massive Numbers! Publishers want Big Sales Numbers, Obviously, and that means Making a Horizon Style Game, they are what are selling! 20,000,000 Units! I am not going to be at all Suprised if the next NFS Game ends up being a Festival Racer! The Problem with Horizon 5 is because it was Developed by a Demoralised Development Team under a Creative Director who was not even a Car Enthusiast and was only Interested in Battle Royale and Fashion! Its why FH4 and 5 were focussed so much on Clothing and other Such Gimmicks. The Big Problem for 5 is that, while FH4 was a good Game with some Rough Edges, and only seemed Bad by Comparison with FH3 (a Great Game) and the Xbox One Version of FH2 (a Masterpiece) , FH5 is a *Genuinely Bad Game* ! packed with Bad Car Choices, FOMO Mechanics, Broken AI, Myriads of Bugs and Glitches, an Ageing Game engine no longer fit for Purpose, an *Inexplicable* Location with *Nothing* going for it, and an *Atrocious* Map, it is a *Boring Game* ! The Problem with Progression is, you need to find a Balance, Yes, Starting Players off with a C8 Corvette and giving them an F40 on the First Gambling Box (Lootboxes should be made illegal IMO) is Ridiculous, but...if you Start Players off with a Beaten up old Corrado and 1000 CR now and they will just smell MTX (something else which should be made illegal IMO) and run a Country Mile in the Opposite Direction. It is very Hard to find a Balance, and, well, when a Game has been Built, *Wrongly* around Multiplayer and Battle Royale, and "Live Services (another thing I would like to see be made illegal, I am Perfectly Happy with Traditional DLC Packs!) and with Single Player very Clearly an Afterthought and nothing more than a Tutorial for the Multiplayer, there is often no incentive for the Developers to try and find a Balanced Progression System. There is nothing wrong with the Festival Racer Idea, handled Correctly , with a Focus on Single Player, DLC rather than Live Services, a Great Map with Superb Roads and Good Car Choices, Solid Handling Physics, and a Balanced Progression System, it can be the basis for one of the Greatest Videogames ever made... the Xbox One Version of FH2, and, given I go back to the late 1980's with Games, I do not give that accolade lightly!
hell forza horizon 5 world even looks better than the motorsport that was shown off at the showcase.. They are doing magic when it comes to optimized high fedelity games. Its a shame that not much money is backing other racing game developer's games.
Remember when racing games were actually hard to win and fun? In this game every race looks like a lonely time trial and they have add goofy voice lines to fill the void
let's face it, the only reason anyone will ever touch Motorfest is because of SUpra, and then just rtb to Forza or Assetto Corsa with the current state of racing games lately
I've been playing the game for a while and i love what i saw, the mix between each classes is awesome, the first person animations finaly been fixed so now the steering wheel turns all the way and it looks pretty sick, the handling feels slghtly better than the crew 2 but not entirely new, i'm still a bit overwelmed by the playlists system, i think i would preffer a more direct event to event aproach, but at least they showcase nice cars and visuals, specialy the offroading and japanese ones. the soundtrack is awesome two, there's a song called sigma by crystal shards, that has become my favorite so far, i like the new tire management system in the pro circuit races, it' nothing fancy but i can see it becoming a real challenge in high difficulties, you'll have to decide if you want to risk 1 more lap or go for the pit. overall the game looks promissing and i hope the community embrace it since forza has been on a stall for a long time, it's good to have another competitor to spice things up, i didn't like the direction the crew 2 has gone, but since there's no going back, i'm glad the crew motorfest is doing something better.
how about the handling? Does it feels like forza or more arcadey like the crew 2? For me forza is the sweet spot of arcade & sim handling.. Not too realistic but not too arcadey
@@lvtmusic5559it’s more of crew 2 but less sensitive and slightly more understeer on all cars, but when you hit the hand break or for rear drive cars you can kick the back out, if you have played unbound it’s more closer to that than anything else, forza still the dominant king of racing games

Not much fan of the physics, very uninformative and not fun. All these new racing games that aren't simulators should look at physics from the 2000s, namely NFS games(except Undercover), Dirt 2, GRID, Burnout Revenge, Motorstorm, Flatout, Midnight Club, those are what I call fun arcade/semi-arcade physics. They should try copy those instead of just put the budget all on graphics and presentation.

Never played the games at the time. I did get lucky and managed to snag TDU 1 and 2 recently on PC and they really are great games.

Forza accidentally made a irreversible damage to the game industry
They ruined racing games. Now everything needs to look bigger and fantastic all the time. Also, the objects in the scenario and sounds have no impact, feels like everything is made of polystyrene just to bad players not to suffer the consequences when they are bad drivers.

Even putting aside the fact that Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft, I'm still unconvinced, if not outright pessimistic about this game.
The Crew had some genuinely promising bones as a story-focused open world racer. Admittedly, the story wasn't as polished as it could have been, and the game does have some jankiness to it (cars rolling seemingly at random, glitching through the map being a regular occurrence for some, etc), but it had a mighty heart.
Alex working his way up through the ranks of the 510s to take down the man who murdered his brother and reclaim the throne said murderer occupied was a brilliant concept for a story. Learning how the 510s had changed under Shiv and how Detective Coburn was involved in it all was interesting enough, and gave the player the chance to right some wrongs on the road to taking Shiv down. Again, a lot of the actual missions didn't involve much character animation and it did seem pretty barebones at times, but the potential was there, right?
The Crew 2 could've focused on the years before Alex got out, with Shiv's leadership of the 510s closing in on the protagonist or protagonists like a vice until they either flee the U.S., end up arrested, or die trying. The Crew 3 could've been the 510s versus a different, more morally gray organization moving in on their turf, with the 510s preferring to settle everything on the road and their shady rivals preferring to eliminate the competition permanently. The Crew could've been a better Fast & Furious than the Fast & Furious movies ever were. _Seriously._
We have all the legitimate racing we could ever want from Forza, Gran Turismo, and sims like Assetto Corsa. We CERTAINLY don't need another Horizon clone. But as far as I can see, a Horizon clone is what we're getting. A damn shame, since all that accomplishes is the further homogenization of racing games, and the deeper burial of what was probably a better street racing story than even the resurgent Need For Speed could come up with in Unbound.

Because the Japanese Government does *not* want Western Developers setting their Games in Japan, as Western Games break too many of Japan's *strict* Taboo's, meaning the Japanese Government is Refusing to grant Permission for most Western made Games to be set in Japan, so they cannot *legally* set their Games there.
They are allowing a few that do not break their Taboo's, but they tend to be "closed course" Games like GRiD and Forza Motorsport.
Indie Games like NR are made *without permission* and could easily find themselves in *very hot water* of the kind AAA companies *have* to avoid so as not to cause a Shareholder Panic.

It was in crew2 too. It's way easier in crew than payback. Payback was fully rng but in crew, you get gold parts by doing races in hard difficulty. Once you get a part of your liking (usually nitro boost or double money is the way to go) then you reroll 1 of 2 of the mini perks in that part individually so you can make your part the best without losing it. It would be better without them yes but at least this makes the game last longer and its not full rng so we used to it in crew2.

I played the game with Insider program, if it's similar to that the cars atleast do handle better than TC2. Cars don't slip as easily as they do in TC2.
Again, if it's similar to the insider program then they'll also let you import all your vehicles from TC2
I was super curious about this one so got into the closed beta. and I'm so glad that I did! the Japanese playlist is already my favorite I loved stuff like initial d and wangan midnight in the arcades so getting to recreate some of those memories playing games like that, already sold me on the game big-time! the intro kinda blew me away too, you're just thrown into each race from the moment she's done talking it was kind of a shock to me. had so much fun with it can't wait til september!!
The engine sound from the F1 cars remind me a lot of both nfs shift games

Motorstorm Pacific Rift was one of my favorite racing games of all time and that game was also set in Hawaii and this game just reminds me of it. I think for once in a long time I'll be picking up a Ubisoft game this year.

I can't help but feel nostalgic for 2000's racing games, every franchise had its thing to make them stand out, nowadays i feel like every open world racing game wants to be Forza somehow
And it's not even a great idea because Forza Horizon has plenty of flaws, we had to wait Horizon 5 to see people rant like "damn it's the previous game with another map" yeah no shit sherlock your game is not relevant anymore because you may have a "rEaLisTiC" handling, your game feels like a sandbox with no progression whatsoever and is mostly alive because of the half assed multiplayer and irrelevant updates

Car Companies do not want Police Chases or Crime in Games anymore, it Damages their PR Images and it Damages their Sales, the Family Friendly Festival Racer is rapidly becoming a Requirement to Get Licences, as they do not have the Police Chases or Crime Elements that are causing Car Companies to say "No" to granting Licenses.
Furthermore, Underground Street Racing Games are just not selling, EA has openly Declared Unbound, which has struggled to sell 2 Million Units, as an abject Flop! Forza Horizon Style Games are Selling in massive Numbers! Publishers want Big Sales Numbers, Obviously, and that means Making a Horizon Style Game, they are what are selling! 20,000,000 Units! I am not going to be at all Suprised if the next NFS Game ends up being a Festival Racer!
The Problem with Horizon 5 is because it was Developed by a Demoralised Development Team under a Creative Director who was not even a Car Enthusiast and was only Interested in Battle Royale and Fashion! Its why FH4 and 5 were focussed so much on Clothing and other Such Gimmicks.
The Big Problem for 5 is that, while FH4 was a good Game with some Rough Edges, and only seemed Bad by Comparison with FH3 (a Great Game) and the Xbox One Version of FH2 (a Masterpiece) , FH5 is a *Genuinely Bad Game* ! packed with Bad Car Choices, FOMO Mechanics, Broken AI, Myriads of Bugs and Glitches, an Ageing Game engine no longer fit for Purpose, an *Inexplicable* Location with *Nothing* going for it, and an *Atrocious* Map, it is a *Boring Game* !
The Problem with Progression is, you need to find a Balance, Yes, Starting Players off with a C8 Corvette and giving them an F40 on the First Gambling Box (Lootboxes should be made illegal IMO) is Ridiculous, but...if you Start Players off with a Beaten up old Corrado and 1000 CR now and they will just smell MTX (something else which should be made illegal IMO) and run a Country Mile in the Opposite Direction. It is very Hard to find a Balance, and, well, when a Game has been Built, *Wrongly* around Multiplayer and Battle Royale, and "Live Services (another thing I would like to see be made illegal, I am Perfectly Happy with Traditional DLC Packs!) and with Single Player very Clearly an Afterthought and nothing more than a Tutorial for the Multiplayer, there is often no incentive for the Developers to try and find a Balanced Progression System.
There is nothing wrong with the Festival Racer Idea, handled Correctly , with a Focus on Single Player, DLC rather than Live Services, a Great Map with Superb Roads and Good Car Choices, Solid Handling Physics, and a Balanced Progression System, it can be the basis for one of the Greatest Videogames ever made... the Xbox One Version of FH2, and, given I go back to the late 1980's with Games, I do not give that accolade lightly!

hell forza horizon 5 world even looks better than the motorsport that was shown off at the showcase.. They are doing magic when it comes to optimized high fedelity games. Its a shame that not much money is backing other racing game developer's games.

Remember when racing games were actually hard to win and fun? In this game every race looks like a lonely time trial and they have add goofy voice lines to fill the void
let's face it, the only reason anyone will ever touch Motorfest is because of SUpra, and then just rtb to Forza or Assetto Corsa with the current state of racing games lately
I've been playing the game for a while and i love what i saw,
the mix between each classes is awesome, the first person animations
finaly been fixed so now the steering wheel turns all the way and it looks pretty sick,
the handling feels slghtly better than the crew 2 but not entirely new,
i'm still a bit overwelmed by the playlists system, i think i would preffer a more
direct event to event aproach, but at least they showcase nice cars and visuals,
specialy the offroading and japanese ones. the soundtrack is awesome two,
there's a song called sigma by crystal shards, that has become my favorite so far,
i like the new tire management system in the pro circuit races, it' nothing fancy
but i can see it becoming a real challenge in high difficulties, you'll have to decide
if you want to risk 1 more lap or go for the pit.
overall the game looks promissing and i hope the community embrace it since
forza has been on a stall for a long time, it's good to have another competitor to
spice things up, i didn't like the direction the crew 2 has gone, but since there's no going back,
i'm glad the crew motorfest is doing something better.

For me forza is the sweet spot of arcade & sim handling.. Not too realistic but not too arcadey
@@lvtmusic5559it’s more of crew 2 but less sensitive and slightly more understeer on all cars, but when you hit the hand break or for rear drive cars you can kick the back out, if you have played unbound it’s more closer to that than anything else, forza still the dominant king of racing games

Not much fan of the physics, very uninformative and not fun. All these new racing games that aren't simulators should look at physics from the 2000s, namely NFS games(except Undercover), Dirt 2, GRID, Burnout Revenge, Motorstorm, Flatout, Midnight Club, those are what I call fun arcade/semi-arcade physics. They should try copy those instead of just put the budget all on graphics and presentation.
