  • This is my third review of these boots now that I have owned them for 4 years as it was a request from one of the viewers. The Red Wing boots are still kicking strong and I love the looks and comfort of them. The only wear I have is on the back of the heals as expected for any shoes I have owned and the tongues have holes worn through.

    I like that there is no deep tread that tracks mud and dirt clods everywhere like in your vehicle or house.

    As soon as I saw those tongues I paused the video and went and inspected the tongues on all my pairs of Iron Rangers... I dunno what's going on, maybe you cinch your laces way tighter than me but that's insane.

    Whoa?! Those holes in the tongue are intense! I've had mine for 5-6 years, worn 4 out of 7 days a week. No where near that kind of wear. Regardless, your boots look great!

    Great looking Redwing 8111’s Dan, I have the same pair but about 3 years old. The 8111’s are my favourite variant of iron ranger boots, they are so cool and keep on looking better with age plus they last for years. Totally worth the money 😊

    You should get a set of boot kilties / false tongues for those.

    Clicked because mine are less than a week old and I'm already noticing those holes starting to develop

    Interesting about the holes in your boots tongues. Mine don’t have even any wear down in those locations.

    Do the holes in the tongue affect how they wear? Or do you just see this as added character

      I don't feel any difference so It doesn't bother me that much. Caulk it up to character. Make the day great and thanks for the view!

    Do you walk any significant distance in them say, >5 miles at once? If so how are they comfort wise?

    • @BigbeardMN
      @BigbeardMN  Год назад +2

      Yes, I have when I first bought them I wore them out one night in Nashville out on Broadway and easily walked/danced over 5 miles. They aren't a hiking boot or running shoe but I didn't have any blisters or horribly sore feet the day after or on similar occasions when I have worn them for extended walking periods. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

      If your boots aren’t broken in yet pace yourself. They get better EVERY time you wear them. I’ve had mine for over 6 years, and they are incredibly comfortable, and besides an awesome patina, it’s almost like new, (soles are roughly same as in the video).

    Are the Iron Rangers good for Construction Work?

    • @BigbeardMN
      @BigbeardMN  7 месяцев назад +1

      I would not recommend them for construction even with the different soles that provide a little traction.
