- I've been needing to clean up my studio for weeks now, and today is finally the day. I have put it off for FAR too long, so would you mind being my body double? This started out as my attempt to make a "clean with me" type of video that was calm and straight-forward...but things took a hard left when I found an old pregnancy test that send the rest of the day into a bit of chaos.
This might not be the most helpful "clean with me" video you've ever watched on youtube, but it is eventful. Things got clean. Lost items were found. Urgent care was visited.
It's truly all happening here in these 18 minutes. 😂

I’m doing the best I can as I learn! I used to post them online when my social media was simply just my friends and family who saw my content. But as my platform grew, suddenly I became aware of how wide and far content can go once it’s posted. It’s pretty scary when you know the ins and outs of how content travels online.

@@elyse_myers thank you! It is scary! And I mean this with absolutely no offense, but I do not want or need to see them. You can talk about them without me seeing them. I don't watch parents who show their kid to the camera much anymore, because I'm always worried for the child.
The panic attack about the test, the speech about crocs & the spiral about the book coffee was all SO relatable I swear I have had all of these moments almost exactly 😂😭❤️

I really like the method of: go through a room with a trash bag - pick up trash; go through the room with a laundry basket - pick up clothes; go through and pick up dishes, put them in kitchen... That helps me when I'm just like ... paralyzed sos

Yes! This sounds like advice from the amazing book “How to Keep House While Drowning,” which is incredibly compassionate and helpful. I listened to the audiobook, probably while doing my dishes 😜

I have stopped following a lot of accounts where the kids are shown. I love following parenting accounts, but I can't support parents using their children the way many do. I actually learned all about it when you announced you weren't showing your kids anymore awhile back. I think people are just realizing what damage it can cause our kids to give them a large internet footprint before they can even understand and consent to it. My 11 year old daughter wants to make YT videos and it was a hard no, she just doesn't understand yet. Thanks for sharing your life with us!
Gives me more hope that there are good parents (mom & dads) out there who are protecting their kids from online footprints and inappropriate exposure to certain aspects of internet/social media. All I ever see are these terrible parents/family channels that exploit their families/children/relationship for a quick buck/cash grab.
I can’t believe how many family channels I used to watch before I became a mom. It’s truly disturbing how parents can proudly sell their children to predators online with an innocent facade. Those poor kids will never know privacy
You accomplished something new on your list in this video. You went to 2 stores looking for a pregnancy test cause you needed it, and you didn't order it off Amazon! You're still doing it! Congratulations! This was a win!
I was so panicked I actually didn’t realize how big of an accomplishment that was until a few people pointed it out in the comments! That’s so cool! PROGRESS!!!
It's super cool to see someone else cleaning like I do, needing a tv show on and making "cleaning piles" in bags. I feel like it takes years before I go through them. Sometimes they go in closets. Sometimes they just become Mount Stuffalus. And consequently when I do get to them it creates even more "wow i didn't know i had that" side quests. I'm such a failure at cleaning, and it creates a lot of problems, but this video warms my heart for showing a true adhd experience and is probably my favorite one of yours.
As a Starbucks barista, I will say, you can’t get cold brew as decaf. so the only way that we can make that drink decaf and as similar as possible is to make a decaf iced Americano. We would still be able to add the syrup and the foam on top! Hope this helps!
I completely blanked and realized the author meant iced americano! I was thinking they were saying salted caramel cold foam on top of a hot decaf americano which still I guess would make sense but not as much! Hahaha yours makes more sense! Thank you! Just a thought, that because the studio is a business expense because of your job....hiring a cleaning service would be covered as a business expense.😊❤
We have an amazing team that usually comes in once every two weeks to clean in terms of sanitize things, which is so helpful! But I still need to pick up and generally tidy every room every week so when they do come, the studio is ready to go for them! But also because of the tornados here in Omaha, they weren’t able to come one week so it had been over a month since anyone came and so I really let things go 😅

I like to listen to audio books or upbeat music when I'm cleaning, it helps me focus my ADHD. I love how you yelled "SQUIRREL!!!" when you saw one, distracting you from cleaning by in the most figurative AND literal ADHD move lol

Hoarder shows are the perfect shows to watch when cleaning. Gives me motivation and makes me feel good about my own house.

RUclips is my go-to for cleaning entertainment, because it tends to be like hanging out with a friend and listening to them ramble about stuff, without being so very entertaining that you have to keep looking at it. A lot of RUclips channels could technically be podcasts.

Okay I’m glad I’m not alone in that. 😂 I also married one of the most careful and steady human beings on the planet so I am often just mentally spinning watching him take the necessary time things usually take (bc I would do it faster and so much worse)

It’s a dangerous place for children, the internet is full of predators who take images or videos of children are use AI to alter the content for, well you know what for. I clean with music or podcasts if I need sound, that way I don't get distracted by a screen, or or there''s this youtube thing that I use use as a podcast, it's with guessing music, so it works

As someone who drinks almost exclusively decaf I would like to weigh in haha when the cold brew cold foam drinks first came out, I was bummed I couldn't get it (too much caffeine). But the barista suggested that the dupe for the cold foam cold brew was an iced americano with the cold foam/other add ins because the espresso can be decaf, but the cold brew cannot.
Hopefully this helps add context! I think it was just worded strangely.

@@elyse_myers I totally get it! Every time I get frustrated enough with a tangle to pick up the scissors I remember I’m really bad at joining yarn and I hate weaving in ends, and that overrides the frustration at the tangle so I keep going.

I always feel like I need to strap myself in for a wild ride with your videos. I laugh, I cry, I relate to many of your feeeeeeelings. I legitimately have a big list of things to do that I've slowly crossed off. What's left? 4 items that have to do with cleaning. I don't have ADHD, and find it a struggle, so I feel ya, honey- the struggle is REAL. Procrastination has haunted me from birth- I was born late. LOL I'm so happy I caught this video before I decided to tackle my cleaning mission. Fingers crossed that I am able to tackle at least one of the four items to completion without getting too distracted. Thanks for always being so real. Moving taks like Cleaning the house gets a podcast/music. Stationary tasks like folding laundry or dishes i get to watch shows. Thats the only way i can get things done lol
