Mit 13 Jahren kam ich in Kontakt mit dieser einmaligen Band und Musik. Bis heute (60 Jahre jung) bleibt meine Faszination in allen Poren spürbar. Zuletzt life erlebt Stuttgart 16. Oktober. 22. Für mich die beste Band der Welt. Diese unglaubliche Perfektion jedes Einzelnen, diese Flexibilität, unglaubliche Kreativität und Aura ist einfach unerreicht. Siehe nur die Solo Erfolge. Welche Rock Band zuvor hat mit dem L.S.O. in der ehrwürdigen Royal Albert Hall in den 1970ern jemals ein Konzert gegeben? R.I.P. Jon Lord und Tommy Bolin. Ihr alle in der Band habt mein Leben und mein Verständnis zur Musik geprägt. Dafür danke ich euch allen ewig. 👍🤟😀

Hearing Dio singing on “Smoke…” is fantastic. Dio sounds phenomenal here. The whole ensemble look like they’re having a great time which shows in their performance.
Dude, this song had always been a masterpiece, but when Deep Purple performed it with Dio it turned into a true rock legend. If anyone dares to deny it, they have to get up their sorry a*s and leave the room, or better yet, the building. Hands down.

Father Dio kicked ass. Rest In Peace; for me, not only the most powerful voice in metal, but the most humble musician I ever met.
Bullshit - he was pretty woeful here. He let that part of the music down. He could sing when he was in Rainbow, but no match for Gillan on that day.

After all, to any person with ears, it is very clear that Dio, forced next to Gillan to force his voice to the utmost (and speaking less politically correct - not to sing, but to yell) looked comical.
Gillan all the way for me. Sorry but Dio was off in another direction here, you can't wander off the path on this classic number.

В России все кто мог играть на гитаре, все умели играть эту первую заставку от Deep Purple.. Smoke On The Water.. Этот первый участок начало композиции использовали как заставку в импровизации других музыкальных композиций.. Настолько это было популярно среди молодёжи в стране, и об этом никогда не говорят в официальных СМИ...
А что про это говорить,если даже в ЦК все от этой композиции балдели.Тогда и сейчас все знают с чего юному гитаристу начинать))

Dio’s voice was incredible.
Earlier in this concert he sang "Sitting in a Dream" during which he demonstrated the pretty side of his tenor voice. Gillan sang that song during the live performance of "Butterfly Ball" because the story goes that Blackmore wouldn't let Dio leave his Rainbow commitment at the time so Gillan filled in at the last minute. Of course, Gillan nailed it. I appreciate how Dio gets a little lost for a second because it's not his song and Gillan respectfully helps him get back by pointing and mouthing the words to Dio. Then Dio thanks his friend with an arm gesture and singing "hey." Everyone is just having so much fun.
