It is always incredibly sad when a dog dies and I've lost so many of my own, but I am very sad at Chaser's passing. Even though she lived to be 15, a long life for a dog, it is still so sad. But, yes she is now with her beloved pet parent and will be forever.
Long life for a dog and most importantly Chaser made his owners last years truly meaningful but now I feel sad for her because she’s without both her husband and their family dog. I’m sure it must have been very fulfilling for her to have watched the bond grow after getting chaser as a pup and watching her husband warm up again to another dog after losing his previous dog. So sad to see her alone without the two.
Very sad! I remember seeing a documentary on 60 Minutes (or some show like that) about Chaser. Just did a Google search to see how she was doing and found this. RIP to both Dr. Pillai and Chaser.

On a more horrifying note I think about what the barbaric country of China has been doing to pets (family members) during their zero tolerance covid policy were they are beating them to death, sometimes in front of their owners! My BCs went to the Blessing of the Animals service at my Anglican Catholic Church yearly. They enjoyed being with other dogs, cats, and people-especially children-whether they fully understood what was going on or not there.
