Tryin to walk down sikaflex on your knees like that is brutal. That stuff is unforgiving for compression. It loves to shift around under the plywood. Hat's off to success Mark.
Any f clamp U can rivers. File or sand smal tab at the bar and move screw part over. Is no so conviniet as dedycate irwin quick grup but work in moste aplication.
@17:00 it's nice to see that you got some additional help. Should really speed up the production output. I hope you hired with a probationary trial period so you can let him go if need be.
Hey ! Nice work as always, I was just wondering what makes you say that oak and epoxy don’t go together well ? I made oak pieces glued with epoxy quite a few times over the last years and it seemed to work. I would be really intrested to have your insight ! Thanks for the videos and greeting from France
The epoxy manufacturers themselves say that and I have experienced epoxy glued oak failure after several years in service. do some digging on th e West System website and you should turn up some supporting info. You can make it work with proper surface preparation but there's always a little doubt.
I didn't get to this one until today. I really enjoyed it. I like that you pause to question yourself and contemplate the next move and that you aren't afraid to show the real moments that all woodworkers have when things aren't going as smoothly as we might like. It is part of what makes your channel one of the very best. Great work ol' chap! Keep it up. Looking forward to the next.
Glad you enjoyed it! You should have been watching my work day today. There was plenty of that. Swearing too. It’ll eventually show up in my Black Skimmer repair series.
It’s a known fact that they are not best friends. At least white oak. You have to be very picky about surface preparation and epoxy application and even then, there’s a wildcard factor. I've had meticulous glue ups fail several years down the road.
@ 17:50 it sounds like you're a reformed former plywood gang member recalling being jumped into the gang during the initiation. Glad to see you turned your life around 😉

True, but theses were the only clamps that were the right length for the space I had to work with as well.
Beautiful wood! Cheers(and I always enjoy watching too...)...rr Normandy, Fra.
Many thanks!

should the protective sticks be aligned with the water flow vs the planking ? just asking thanks for the great videos and humor
In some cases yes but these are very low profile and won’t interfere any more than the plank laps will.
how about high density polystyrene for the bottom sacrifice sheet?
It was discussed but the client prefered the wood option.
What is the deal with oak and epoxy not working well together?
It’s a known fact that they are not best friends. At least white oak. You have to be very picky about surface preparation and epoxy application and even then, there’s a wildcard factor. I've had meticulous glue ups fail several years down the road.
Held off watching this earlier so I could make it a "Dinner and a Movie" Sunday. Always a good video. Thank you Mark. Haver a great evening.
You’re the only guy I know who leads into dinner and a movie with breakfast and the same movie.

No one likes leaving a synthetic residue behind👍
Looking good❤
Are there any good kinds of residue?

Thank you.
This was great fun, and I have to say I enjoyed the editing, somebody put some time and thought into that, well done!
Took an extra bit of time but I think it was worth it.
