@ Billy O'Reilly Here's my description/explanation about how the sounds were made for these official themes for Windows 7: 0:03 Nothing special, it's just the normal Windows Vista/7 factory sounds that we all know and love them. 0:47 It is the same Vista/7 sounds, but made with a different instrument. In that case, they've used a 12-stringed guitar for that theme. 1:20 The same sounds originated from Vista and 7, but made with asiatic instruments like the koto, taikos, a gong, a flute and a violin (fiddle). 1:53 From what I say, this should the best "modernized" theme and sound scheme Microsoft has ever created for Windows 7, even if it has nothing to do with fantasy or cartoon "characters" because it has the same Vista and 7 sounds made on synthesizers and using lo-fi urban-like drum beats which it stands out much from today's standards. 2:19 Hmmm... not from what do you expect from a cityscape, neither from this type and genre of music as mentioned here before because nowadays we just listen to cars passing, people listening to upbeat electronic music and noisy truck horns, but it's still a good theme and I indeed love the jazz rearrangement versions with those soothing piano chords and soft, pretty good celesta/vibraphone tunes of these Windows Vista/7 sounds! 2:51 The same sounds over again, but this time with more country music-sounding instruments, like a steel electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, an harmonica and a banjo. 3:22 The same sounds over again, but with typical Latin and Brazilian musical instruments, like an accordion, trumpets, percussion, a flute and a piano. 3:47 The same sounds over again, but using virtual instruments, synthesizers and some musical effects. The sounds from this theme are so pretty and natural! 4:16 It is the same Vista/7 sounds, but made with a different instrument. In that case, they've used a classic acoustic guitar for that theme. 4:42 The same sounds over again, but with wood instruments and some percussion, like a trombone, mute trumpets, a tuba, a flute, a bassoon, strings and a glockenspiel. 5:10 It's like the normal Windows Vista/7 factory sounds that we all know and love them, but modified with synthesizers, EQ mixing and some effects. A futuristic take on the sounds made by Microsoft themselves. 5:35 The same sounds originated from Vista and 7, but made with traditional Indian musical instruments like percussion, a sitar, a bagpipe and a flute. 6:09 The same sounds originated from Vista and 7, but made with traditional African musical instruments like percussion, a kalimba, a pan flute, a xylophone and marimbas. 6:36 The same sounds over again, but using traditional instruments from a live orchestra. The sounds from this theme have a majestic and stylish touch. And I love it! I think these are the best sounds ever to come from Windows 7.
