    Hello, I have just discovered your channel and I really enjoy the videos, the professionalism, the form of the work and the thoroughness. I have such a roller model 10500, its drag is very weak in terms of the clicker, I wanted to please ask is there a way to replace the clicker in order to be noisy when a fish is caught and not as quiet as in the original ? Thanks in advance

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  3 года назад +2

      Welcome and thanks for watching. Check out the part of the video where I break down the drag. Clean out the ridges in that plate thoroughly and add a very thin coat (a lot less than you see when you first open it) of grease.... the clicker will be louder.

      There's no trick to putting the spool back on. Just line up the keyed metal washers with the shaft. Is your issue with a 9500ss or 9500ssv?

    How do you stop that slight rotor back play after servicing..? my slammer dose it as well now. Ive put it all back together write.? cheers:). Tackle advisors had the same problem as well.:)

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I'm assuming you put it back together properly and I'm guessing he (Tackle Advisors) also checked the following things..... but the cause can only come from a few places.... the rotor nut (make sure it's set), the opening in the rotor where the pinion gear goes through (if there's wear in the corners or edges, it can allow for some initial "slippage" as it "locks" into place during the transition from from spinning to stopping and vice versa - rotate the rotor back and forth by hand to check), or, the likely culprit... the anti-reverse clutch (could be worn and need to be replaced).
      The little cylinders in the a/r clutch ride in a plastic housing that can wear over time.... think of trying to reshape a plastic straw after chewing on it. This slight back play isn't necessarily detrimental to the performance, but I'd keep a replacement a/r clutch assy on hand, if I were you.
      Hope this helps. Keep me posted.

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  3 года назад +1

      Forgot to mention the gears... hold the rotor and gently turn the handle back and forth.... if there's significant play, the gears are probably worn... you could try shimming the main gear, but that won't always work... the MG and PG should be replaced.

    • @hownowbrowntrouttasmania7389
      @hownowbrowntrouttasmania7389 3 года назад

      @@TSGReelService Thanks heaps for your reply. There is some movement where the anti-reverse fits into the hexagon shape body. My spinfisher has only ever been used once. I don't know why that one would have play in it as well. I'm guessing its the same problem. My slammer has done a bit of work, not much though.
      The a/r clutch inside seems good. There is no movement. But there is movement in where it sits into the body.

    • @hownowbrowntrouttasmania7389
      @hownowbrowntrouttasmania7389 3 года назад

      @@TSGReelService How do you set the rotor nut?? It looks like there is a lot of play just where the rotor nut needs tightening. The gears should be fine because it hasn't done all that much work?

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  3 года назад +1

      You're welcome and no worries. All those things could affect the rotor play. Not necessarily one in and of itself, but one magnifying on top of the other. Like I said before, the overall performance of the reel shouldn't be significantly affected.

    • @TSGReelService

    • @petergyore3108
      @petergyore3108 3 года назад

      Thanks, I have checked, but my spring is okay, it is not damaged, not broken. And I hear the noise only rarely not always. What is the function this part? Because in the smaller SSV reel you cannot find this unit.

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  3 года назад

      It's a backup for the anti reverse. Your spring could be worn. Try replacing it. If that doesn't help the issue, take it to your local repair shop.
