Something that helped our budget when it comes to the bunch of little things that add up is we set an allowance for ourselves for the week that we can spend on whatever. Puts a little freedom in the budget while still keeping it under wraps. It might feel shitty to say to your partner "heres your allowance this week" but it does help, I swear.
It's good to see real life budgets. As a single person with 2 jobs (both biweekly on opposite weeks), I'm able to follow with this one. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so ready to actually start budgeting. We never actually budget for the future. We just lived in the moment and did what we wanted . Now that retirement is going to come , I want to get a grip on our finances. We were never taught about budgeting back in our younger age .
Please do a video with irregular/ unknown paydays. My husband just went from salaried every two weeks to private contracting and paid after every job and I’m a tipped employee so we’re totally lost now. Love your content!
I'm setting my binder up right now for 2022..you have helped me save money Miko..it's just been a Lil hard to track every single transaction I forget to write stuff down..it's not easy when your just starting out..I'm trying to get into the habit of tracking Everything..Happy Holidays 🤶🎅

We're a blended family with 7 kids (all grown now). Idk HOW we managed everything, but we did have budgets in place and scheduled all activities. We budgeted for a family movie date at a matinee so it was cheaper. We also have anywhere from 6-8 paychecks per month. It's alot to maintain, but it's fun too. I'm such a numbers geek!!!
I tried some form of cash envelope system a couple years ago, because I wanted to be a month ahead on bills. It's been a couple years now, but I started to watch a paycheck cash stuffing video that was suggested to me out of random and they mentioned your name. I'm just starting out and I'm glad I found this video, because I have the challenge of getting paid weekly and my husband getting paid biweekly, it makes sense to hold on to a weekly check and combine when my husband gets his check. Thanks you for your videos and tools. I am learning so much! 💜
I never realized how much of a life saver it is to have a savings account. I recently recovered from a missed miscarriage so I had to stay home for awhile. I had 3300 in savings and was planning to use that for a down payment on a house and ended up on bed rest with no income and so fortunate to only use about 800 and have a fast recovery.
This one actually seems like an appropriate one to add the Christmas sinking fund to. I say this because they put Tithe as a priority on their budget as a main bill. I'm usually a little against instantly adding a Christmas sinking fund since the amount of people not celebrating it seems to be growing, but when they make it clear in their personal story that they align with that ideology it's totally in order
Love the idea of starting a sinking fund (of any kind, since it puts in you the frame of mind to save) and also the simplification you provided here. With so much 'home life' that she'd rather be doing ☺️, combining things seems much more workable 💯
My honey gets paid weekly, I get paid bi-weekly, my amazon and youtube income is monthly. I often get asked why I sit on a paycheck instead of budgeting it out as soon as I get it- the truth is it can be very overwhelming and it takes up a lot of time to budget every payday. Miko thanks for taking the time to share and show this example- this is very similar to what I am doing for my family of 7 and it was very nice to see it from your perspective. Happy Holidays!

The wisest thing that should be on every wise individual's list is to invest in different stream of income and don't depend on the government to bring in money especially now the pandemic is hitting the economy
Something important to mention that unless they pass the Build Back Better act, there will be no advanced child tax credit on the 15th of each month. They will likely get a nice refund but no more monthly payments.
Miko how would you go about a paycheck that is never the same every 2 weeks? My husband is paid hourly and every paycheck is different. How do i plan my budget when this happens? I love your channel!!!! Thank you so much for your system and tutorials!!!
I wished I made that kinda money every month. What do you do when you have a husband who is drawing a disability check once a month and I am still working full-time with debt and a mortgage??? Major struggle for me! Groceries are at an all time high and seriously puts us in a Major financial crisis.
I feel like I could never budget well, because I never know what I'm going to buy. I wait for sales and I buy in bulk. I'll spend a good chuck of money like once a year on makeup and hair supplies and its whatever I find sales or feel inspired. We don't budget food because again, we stick up a few times a year and I buy when there's sales. This year, I invested more up front to cover things like first aid, cleaning products, food storage and I plan on replacing furniture. But I also saved because I didn't really buy new clothes and shoes and I also saved by having my children eat breakfast by lunch at school, but that won't keep happening because after 3 months, they can't stand school food and have asked me to make theirs again.
On the office supplies - I thought that was a lot and an interesting item on their list. Does he need to print things at home or is that their WiFi maybe?

I would not consider that child tax credit as income. Yikes. A lot of people are going to have a rude awakening at tax time in a few months…
Exactly my thoughts. As an accountant I will opt out next year if they do decide to extend the advance payments again
Why do you say that?
@@kaylarogers6644 because it is a tax credit that most people receive when you file your taxes.
