FEDEM simulation of Harley Davidson Softtail with 113cc S&S Motor

This video is showing the VonMises stresses during (the first second) of an acceleration from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds. The FEDEM model is representing a Softtail Custom 1987 frame equipt with a 113cc S&S engine. Additional parts like engine, gearbox, tires, fork, axles are modeled to ensure an optimal force and mass/stiffness distribution. Additional tank, saddle, driver, handle bar masses are included. The animation explains why it's called Softtail :-)
