My favorite is the black Les Paul custom.... and I'd rock it just as it is!
Brass nuts were popularized I believe because Richie Blackmore was THE most popular guitar hero in the 1970s before EVH. It wasn’t until the early 80s that the manufacturers caught up and started putting them in a lot of production models. It took them time to do it in mass. It was after Blackmore’s peak in popularity.
I think I own the worlds cheapest 70s lawsuit era Les Paul Custom, its a 74 Ibanez with the open book headstock. I paid $30aud or £15 in your money and had a massive restoration on my hands since it had been painted in thick goopy enamel paint with a brush and had a broken headstock, but not a normal Les Paul headstock break, it was broken through the headstock wing, split through the machine heads holes. I think I love it more now that I've put so much work into it....and money of course
the yellowing on 57 LP custom headstock looked amazing from the distance views. Hope it pops even more in person!
It does!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing, just need to win the lotto now and I’ll be back down home in the shire! 👏👏
Google luck!
Love the video! Keep them coming, please!!
Thank you! Will do!
RickenbAcker!!
Love that custom
Outstanding stuff.
Thank you!
Defineately refinish the LP Custom, that is if you feel that you have “The Guy” for the job. Great taste in picking out desirables. Cheers!
Lovely! I enjoy your unboxings- so please keep them coming. I think the ES-330 was my favourite.
Thank you! Will do!
The 57 LP custom is my favourite!
Ours too!
Awesome
37 looks yummie.
Really love these videos, you're living the dream!
If you plan on doing more viewer Q&A videos I'm sure many people would like to know - if you could go back in time to the late 50s, what one piece of advice would you give to each of the Heads of Fender & Gibson?
Thanks for the idea! Good one ☝️
Great stuff 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks Mike, what a lovely video. My favourite is the Collector's Choice but the '57 is a close second. I would say refurb it tastefully but I guess that some might want to buy it and make their own decision. I loved the Ric too oh, and the 330.
Cool, thanks
Amazing guitars all of them. I love the videos I could watch guitar videos all day. I’m either playing guitars or watching videos of guitars. I have a problem 😅
Glad you like them! That is a good problem to have 😎
I'm the same age as that Gibson ES-5. It's in better condition than I am.
Carmelita. It might be the best sounding CC I've ever heard. Not that I've heard a whole bunch of them but the Carmelita I heard sounded exactly how you want a Les Paul to sound. The vintage ones I guess the ES-175. I'm not a Jazz box fan, but that's a real nice one.
Thanks and good choices!
woah
That 330 is delicious
Brass nuts were not really hot in the seventies on new guitars-
it was the early 80s when lots of manufacturers included them in new models
Agreed but lots of people (including myself) were experimenting with brass nuts in the 70’s.
Where do you buy your guitars and how come they all arrive at the same time?
We buy them from various places and people all over the world. They get sent to a freight forwarder and when we have enough to make freight to the UK economical they will be sent to us on a pallet.
Been Grovered! All I could think of was Sesame Street
Sesame Street…. Interesting 🤔
@@ATBGuitars Grover is a character from the tv show.
Before it had the "Marshall standby switch" fitted, would the 57 Custom have a "Mastertone" wiring, (like the ES5 ) a volume for each pickup, and a Master Tone control?
Possibly. We need to investigate this…
Mickey Baker of Mickey and Sylvia mid 1950s had an early custom with that setup - I think all the later 3 pickups were the standard wiring
Doesn’t the 63 strat supposed to have a different guard? That one looks like a 62 guard. Early 63 maybe?
Yep, early 63.
Needs more Lucky.
Great video and guitars however...I think you're local chippy may be overcharging you !!!
Haha! Good point.
You made a poor assumption. Fingerboards are separated and reused in 99% of neck replacements.
If the previous owner says a neck might be replaced.. he has reasons.
Previous owner did not say this, another dealer thought so. Headstock is original, fingerboard is original and we are convinced neck is too.
Are you millionaires? (£££££)
It’s our clients who are the millionaires!
I liked the Martin
So do we..
