There are 3 ways to increase your agility. 1. Equip the "Thief" Dressphere and level them up in it for +1 Speed per level you gain. 2. Feed Smooth Shailings (reward from Youth League Cup) for +5 All Stats. 3. Feed Iron Dukes (reward from Farplane Cup and Rare Drop from Major Numersu) for +10 All Stats. That's it. Also, if you got Major Numerus and can speedkill him effortlessly already, I suggest ranking up in the Berserker Dressphere for +100 HP for every level you gain in it. Saves a lot of money and and button command spamming feeding 99 Titanium Bangles to your creatures. lol
What's the normal setup in your case though? Also, make sure you play with the star rating consciously. Higher stars = more aggro while lower starts = more defensive behavior when skills allow.
DivineArtema P.P.S. the video shows three stars during the fight, I know about the higher stars = more aggro/damage. But trust me, the team I use now as with is shown with that cactuar uses that set-up at 7:00 on my video. Even at five stars, they want to haste/esuna/full-life themselves.

Aranea (Bevelle Ch5, Via Infinito 20+) = Anima. While Jumbo Cactuar (complete 10 gatekeepers, enter Cactuar Lair) = Magus Sisters. I suggest looking it up online though like on GameFAQs to double-check. Both require and L Pod btw.

how to get all those auto abilities like critical and double all, total limit break n others? i haven't beaten almighty shinra still weak, yet read a few walkthroughs n vids, i made a mistake where the weak goons(finishing their storyline) youth league cup, which give smooth sailing and the ex crimson team are giving me a hard time. i read to get the anyeater( nt sure if that the name) after catching amazing chocobo. it has 200+ speed at lv 95 , can beat almighty shinra. So will start that this week. i use nooj, logo and chocobo lv 80 at the moment, cnt beat Al Shinra. Since smooth sailing would take a longer time to get thought go get the anyeater first.
Pro omegagunner Total limit break is exclusive to just BIG MONSTERS I believe, with the exception of Almighty Shinra. The CRITICAL ability was from a GG iirc. I haven't played FFX2-HD for so long now though so I wouldn't be able to answer that off the top of my head. Double All is from Key to Success acc.
It's a default setup I use. Elemental protection / absorption is a nice bonus vs Numerus (not that I need it with these stats) but it helps when you're less buffed.
You basically get your creatures to a high level with Chaos Vessel or the other pretty good leveling training in the simulator. Get some skills set up and abilities on your creatures (like Fireworks, Vigor, Life, Defense/Attack Up, etc) to beat stuff like Trema with (Impaler Machina helps a lot too at max strength but you need the critical hit GG for it of which I forgot the name). First time around you do the Farplane Cup you just try to fight against Numerus and when you do he'll be in the simulator. Just beat him up and as you get Iron Dukes as you do you instantly become much stronger in all stats and slowly grind it that way for all your creautes until they become unbeatable. However, if you have the (Ray of Hope GG it was?) garment grid for Butterfingers, you always get 20 Iron Dukes per numerus you kill (5 per head) and can easily get your Stat Boosting going in just 1 or 2 battles already. The rest comes naturally.
DivineArtema Wow, didn't know you could get 20 Iron Dukes with Butterfingers o-o; I thought it would just be 4.. I really need to look at the drops more carefully. That certainly makes my dream of a 99999/999/255 Chocobo and Cactuar a lot more plausible once I can kill Major Numerus. Thanks ^^ edit: I've seen a lot of contradicting information, and I figured you'd be the best person to ask by far. Do boosted stats stay when you go to NG+? I know abilities do, but every person that has given me an answer on stats has been split down the middle.. half say they do, half say they don't.

Oh no... and please explain me, why in this mode the monsters you control are attacking with preset attacks ? Can't you go in the menu and choose and attack like in normal game ? that's a shame really
Monsters are just made that way. Can't control them entirely. The only thing you can do is somewhat influence their defensive/offensive behavior with the stars. Like... 0 stars = run (if kept too long), 1 and 2* is faster to cure/defensive stuff whereas 4 and 5* is YOLO berserker mode almost. Not really but to give you an idea. The stars also affect your damage output and damage taken, which is why you would see me switch at certain moments in some of the other videos I posted.
That's the point and that's why I find this new funny concept unfinished and wasted. Thanks for the explanation though, but it does not interest me anymore :/

can never beat the Shad Duo and I know they r a lot less tougher than Mega Tonberry. So for the Cactuar to do that to Almighty Shinra.......I've just given up! -_-
Resort to defense ignoring moves for Shady Duo. Fireworks and Impale (from machina) both work. If you can teach it to all your creatures you should be able to sweep those 2 easily pretty soon.

So this is how it feels to be humiliated by a baby cactus.

I'm a decade late. It's a grind fest. I programmed autohotkey to cycles through battle simulator battles for ingredients.
