    Well explained thank you. I'm sold on these lights now for my bungalow. Love the feature of changing the light from warm to cool and having the pir wired on a different circuit.

    My only reservation with all this smart stuff, is the fact that these manufacturers tend to drop support as time goes on, for example Phillips.
    But some nice ideas, and Ansell stuff is pretty good.

      I agree ☝️ it’s a risk for opting for one manufacturers smart technology. The good news on this one is it’s built on a Casambi platform which has been around for a good few years now and lots of manufacturers are adopting it. Also common standards are developing - check out our video on Connected Home over IP - ruclips.net/video/X-nOm3HCc-c/видео.html

      this technology has been around for ten years now and is widely used in commercial premises. The whole of Harrods is set up in Casambi systems.

    Great video... regarding the concrete post, mine feel like that they are made out of granite! Are really hard to drill into, was using a normal hammer drill. Maybe an sds drill?

    • @systemsky7921

      I can answer my own question.... i used a dewat sds drill with a decent bit. It wasblike a hot knife through butter!

    We did a luminaire replacement job with this system at the start of the year 3000 fittings swapped out. I found it quite good and easy retro-fit compared to a dali system you just need permanent power in most cases and the switching is wireless. But for domestic situations, you are nearly always better off to go zigbee or zwave more flexible, integrates with voice assistants (Alexa), and easy app control through the likes of smartthings.

    I've recently seen the Collingwood Smart System that works with the Zigbee System, which is the same system as Philips Hue. Have you guys managed to look at the Collingwood offering, as from what I can see its very competitively priced.

    Amazing setup, thanks for sharing. Just one question regarding the feed from the mains, If you spurred of a socket to get the supply was this fused down to 5amp for all the lights.

  • @mars6394
    @mars6394 4 года назад +2

    How did you get the mains from the wago box up the stump into the fitting safely

    • @efixx

      I installed a H07RN-F on the inside slot of the concrete fence post.

    • @FurFoxAche
      @FurFoxAche Год назад

      @@efixx so you wedged the cable between the fence and the concrete post? You must have drilled through the post to get a back entry hole on the angle to the light fitting. And avoided the re-bar somehow!

    Hi, I've recently come across your video as I'm looking to smart lights in my garden. The question I hope you can help with is do I need the outdoor control unit if I want to control say four bulkhead lights and a couple of up lighters? Can't I control Octo WiZ lamps direct from the Octo app? What's the purpose of the controller? Thanks

    • @efixx
      @efixx  3 года назад

      Yes you can control the Wiz version via the app - see this example - ruclips.net/video/b9KwelbDcpY/видео.html

      I've had a quick look again and there's zero markings on it, it looks similar but the terminals are a bit different. Contact your local electrical wholesaler they'll hook you up. 👍
